I’ve never been inside, my review is purely based upon the fact that I had an emergency situation last week and they were closed during posted operating hours. I ended up going to a hospital E.R. after driving to this clinic and finding it closed a half hour before the posted time.

This place is like something out of a bad horror movie. The reason we ended up here(this was roughly 3 years ago) we had just bought a house in Van Buren Twnship. My wife was pregnant and unfortunately had tripped and fallen at home and banged her elbow pretty badly against a piece of furniture in our room. There was a nasty gouge in her elbow and it needed medical attention. Not being from the area — and needing a local place quick — we identified this urgent care in Belleville and not knowing any different — headed there. Being it was located in town and seemed unassuming from the outside — what did we know? Upon entering — the reception /waiting area should have been my first clue. It was unkempt and felt like a drug clinic or something. Just didn’t have a good vibe. Then we were taken into the exam room. It was dark — dank — old tile and not clean. It was like a 30 or 40 year old highway rest stop out in Appalachian County. I was waiting for the Banjo to start playing and some crazy horror moving figure to walk in. The medical assistant who began helping may have been credentialed — but she certainly didn’t act the part of a professional. She was friendly — don’t get me wrong. But, she conversed about her personal life and upon initially treating the wound she was clumsy, tentative, and seemed out of her league. She also just looked like she had graduated Belleville High(or dropped out — she looked the part). The attending physician was pleasant — but I’m not sure he knew what he was doing either. He did request an x-ray to ensure no broken bone. They had to fire the machine up which took an inordinate amount of time. My wife said it was something like one of the old plain film machines from a decade ago(I admit I did not see it personally). This was 3 years ago(and our son is fine) but I can only hope they cloaked her in a protective lead lined drape when they took the xray. Between the decade old machine and the clinic itself — not sure I want to know the potential hazards. The most disappointing thing was the physician opted to simply bandage the wound. Which — granted I’m no doctor — but in hind sight should have probably been stitched. I say this because the location(near a joint) makes it hard to keep the area from being stressed. The wound also healed poorly. It was no small gouge to begin with and there had been significant bleeding. The area healed poorly and there is now a sizeable(probably an inch) long scar at the site which you can see did not mend well. My wife survived — sure. But, I just can’t fathom a situation that might have been more significant and going to this clinic… I think not.
