Called at 9am. Discussed problem with refrigerator freezer section too warm. After checking that there was frost, not ice, in the back of the freezer compartment Patty said it was cost effect to fix. She helped me locate the model number so she could be sure she had the part(s) in stock and would bring them. Arrived about 4pm and repair was done by 5pm. She left no mess in refrigerator nor the kitchen. Been working fine now for several days. Even though PQ’s address is Belleview, they service The Villages(32159, 32162, 32163 zip codes) also.

My mother’s dishwasher is not working. I was considering replacing it with a used dishwasher, but the two companies near to where she lives that sell used dishwashers have several negative online reviews. I called Patty to ask her about repairing my mother’s dishwasher, but after asking me a few questions about it, Patty advised me NOT spend the money to repair but said that in the long run I’d be better off replacing it. So she decided to lose the sale(possible repair job) and instead offered honest advice. She also advised me against buying a used dishwasher. Nice to find an honest repair person! The next time I need a repair for an appliance in my mother’s house I will call Patty first.

I’ve actually called on Patty twice now in the past couple of months. First, my dryer went out. I called several places and basically everyone told me to purchase a new one. Patty came out and not only fixed the problem, but clued me in on an «internal» problem with my dryer vent. Believe it or not — my dryer is on an outside wall. Instead of just venting 12 inches — the builder of my home put several 45 degree angles on and put the vent all the way under my cement floor in my garage — the vent opening is more than 40 feet from the dryer. I purchased a vent cleaning brush(plus attachments) that hooks up to my power drill and cleaned this vent. My old dryer is working better than the day I purchased it. I also called Patty when my washer went out. Again — she acted more like a friend with great advice, rather than someone who was just out to «make a buck». On this occasion — she did suggest I replace my unit because repairs would be very costly. Not only did she give me this advice, but I asked her about brands and suggestions for replacement. After about a 20 minute education in washing machine appliances — I decided to follow her advice and not go for a front load that uses special soaps and is difficult & expensive to repair. I went with an «old fashioned» top loader with a very good agitator. I’m pleased to death with my purchase, but even more pleased with the Professional Advice given to me by Patty Slupe. I highly recommend calling her FIRST before replacing your appliances. Not only will you possibly save a dollar or two — you may gain a friend too.
