My 2002 Honda CBR954rr(motorcycle) needed some maintenance and I did not want to bring it to the Honda dealer. A friend and coworker(thanks D.P.C.) recommended that I bring my bike to Paul Cashio cycles in Belle Chasse. I rarely get to the Westbank and it’s even rarer that I cross through the tunnel into Belle Chasse, but he swore by this place; so I decided to give it a try. The business is located in a building that used to be an old factory of some sort and if you didn’t have the address, you’d never know it was there. The owner(Paul Cashio) and his technician/mechanic(Arthur) run a two man show and cater to race bikes, particularly drag bikes. Don’t judge a book by the cover because this shop does great work in a not so great building. I was getting new tires installed(Dunlop Q2’s), new levers installed(Pazzo’s), new front brake pads(Honda OEM parts), an oil change(Royal Purple synthetic) and an oil filter change(K&N). They only use Royal Purple oil, so if you want something else, bring it with you. They did everything that I asked, in a timeframe that was completely acceptable. His prices were comparable to oe perhaps slightly higher a motorcycle dealership, but IMHO, I feel that I received a lot more personalized attention. For all you racers out there, Mr. Paul has a dynamometer(dyno) so that you can get your bike custom tuned using the latest software. There were plenty of stretched Busas(Suzuki Hyabusas with elongated swingarms for racing) waiting to be serviced, so it’s obvious that this place has a great reputation. All in all it was a good experience. The only thing that kept me from giving a 5 star rating was that this place shuts down completely for lunch. I know this because I came to pick up my bike at 11:15 am and found no one there. However, I understand their predicament in that they only have 2 employees. I killed a little time by walking across the street to the library and read a magazine. So my advice is to call before you go. All in all it was a very positive experience. As a footnote, Mr. Cashio called me a week after the work had been completed to see how my bike was running. This is the kind of personalized customer service that will make me a repeat customer.
