Magpies Gifts

I had a lot of fun in this store just prior to the holiday and I thought that was saying something. The employees were helpful without being overbearing. There were tons of things for probably every member of your family. Need a cool water bottle? Check. Need a baby bib? Check. Need a necklace for your mom? Check. Need a candle? Check. Need something for hubby? Check. Cute store with nice things, nice folks. Glad I came and I’ll be back again. Leave your tot at home if you have one. They probably wouldn’t be able to navigate the store without breaking stuff and thereby hurting your wallet.

Magpies is a wonderful gift store. They have great selection of jewelry, serving items, handbags, baby gifts, monograming. The staff is always helpful and very warm. For me, it is always a warm and welcoming place. The owners are very supportive of the community and are really good people with outstanding customer service.

I went into this boutique today with a coworker to buy another coworker a gift. While I was there, I saw a charm bracelet that I wanted to purchase. When asked if I needed help, I ask the associate about the bracelet. She told me she didn’t know about the bracelet and walked away from me while talking to another associate. She seemed disinterested in helping me and was taking a display of charms out of my hand and setting it aside, so I could not look at the charms. At this point, I told my coworker that I didn’t like the way I was being treated and wanted to leave. I then returned the charm bracelet to the display rack and walked away. As I was walking away the sales associate comes back over and asked me if I decided on anything. I don’t know how I could decide on anything when she took the display of the charms away from me. I told her that they didn’t have all the parts to the bracelet and that I was going to wait. She then raises her voice and says «Where is the bracelet?» I told her it was on the display. I don’t appreciate being accused of stealing. When we finally made the decision on the gift for our coworker, we then had our purchase rang up. There must have been another associate being trained behind the register. She wasn’t paying attention and wasn’t helping. When the transaction was complete, the trainee wouldn’t give me my purchase. I will never go back to this place. Horrible customer service!!!

I was doing a bit of bridesmaid gift shopping and thought I would check out Magpies.
This adorbs gift boutique will definitely be on my list of places when I finish up my girl’s gift bags.
They have a large selection of unique pieces of jewelry, picture frames, bags and they will monogram almost anything.

Owner Maggie fills her store with one-​of-​a-​kind items that are distinctive and affordable. I have bought many well-​received gifts for friends, colleagues and people who have done me «one-​off» favors. It’s the best way to say «thank you.» From holiday decorations for the home to sweet baby gifts this is the go-​to shop in Houston. Bonus! Maggie is an Academy woman. (If you know what I mean you are a member of the sisterhood)

What a wonderfully delightful gift store! My mother-​in-​law suggested I stop by during our recent visit to Houston and I was not disappointed. To be honest, I am just sad to have not found Magpie’s before now!
If you are looking for the perfect — and individually special — gift for someone, this store will not let you down. With everything from decorative glass plates, baby items, wedding trinkets, ornaments, candles, signs, and clothing, Magpies definitely will have what you are looking for… no matter the gift recipient! There is of course Vera Bradley, too, in case you can’t find it any where else!
The hit for me is the current Valentine’s Day display… it is too sweet to miss. Make sure you look in the back corner for great gifts for ‘him”, including some great Texas themed mugs and desk accessories!
I know that I will be back each time we visit Houston… don’t miss this store!
