Bellaire Bar & Restaurant

Came up here for the National Championship Football game. Had to ask the bartender to turn up the volume on the tv so I could here the game over her gabbing with her buddy. And then at 10 she asks if I want anything for last call when Unilocal says they are open till 2am.
Wouldn’t have wasted my time coming up here to watch half of the damn ga n e if I knew they weren’t open as advertised.
Odds are won’t be back.

My brother’s girlfriend’s family has a cottage up here and the hubs and I make it up here once a year now. I enjoy our meal the we have here
My brother and I both have celiac and although there are no gluten free buns, they always wrap our burger in lettuce for us. The burger is quite tasty and reasonable as well.
We continue to come back each year!

In town for a conference. We were told by Bob the driver at Shanty Creek this place had great burgers. He was right and a pretty good chicken burrito too! Friendly waitstaff and great prices.

You don’t have a lot of options in downtown Bellaire after Short’s closes at midnight. If you wanna keep the party alive, you’re gonna end up here.
I can’t speak to the food at this establishment (though other Unilocalers seem to enjoy it), but I can tell you what I think about the bar. This particular Saturday night there was a DJ and a pretty raucous dance party. I do have to note that the DJ sat at a folding table all night which was a little weird but if you greased his palms a bit he’d play requests so I’ll give that a pass.
Overall, this seems like a pretty straight forward townie bar in northern Michigan. Nothing to write home about, but nothing wrong with it either.

Stay away! Place is horrible! Service is the same! And will prolly talk trash about you if they think your not local even if you are! Went there even though I didn’t want to cause my wife wanted to play keno «I was content just drinking my beer at shorts». Asked to play juke box and apparent manager said not while tigers where on, even though it was so loud in there you couldn’t here it anyway! She said it would be ok after dinner even though no one was eating! Needless to say dinner came and left, so did I ! PLACE IS TRASH STAY AWAY!

Billed as the best burger in northern michigan. Our group said that might be right on. Sorry but I got laughed at for getting a taco salad. It was great! Food took a while to come out. That was my only criticism.

I had the Olive Burger, my dad the burrito. I’d asked for my burger rare but as it is in so many instances nationwide, it arrived well done. It was still juicy or I’d have sent it back. Fries and service were marvelous though, Burger-​3 (and I’m being generous), burrito (looked good) –4. I’d eaten here once before and it was better but overall, both times were good. I’ll eat here again but probably order a non-​beef item.

I loved this place! After a long day of fishing we were arriving back to town around 9:45. Our options for dinner at that time were Lulu’s, Short’s, and Bellaire Bar. Lulu’s seemed too fancy for just having been fishing and my husband exclaimed that he was done with Short’s (already ate there three other times that week).
Well we didn’t catch much walleye on the lake but boy-​oh-​boy their walleye dinner hit the spot! The salad to start had fresh lettuce and veggies. The two fillets were HUGE and could possibly be split. I loved that I could have asparagus as my side. We started with chicken wings. He’s usually disappointed when I want medium instead of hot but their medium had a perfect kick to it. Not too hot for me but not too boring for him. They were delicious!
Their drink options are sure to please everyone. They had a good selection of beers of tap and in bottles, as well as plenty of liquor for mixed drinks. There were TVs everywhere so you won’t miss the game. The service was very friendly!

Excellent small town bar and restaurant. Attentive and personable service, good bar food, fine for kids and FINALLY a restaurant that says that their «hottest» wings are truly hot! They were undoubtably the hottest wings I have ever tasted. Strongly recommend this place. I’ll go back.

Stumbled into this place to watch Game 4 of the Wings/​Blackhawks series.
Service was a tad slow, but they were slammed so it was reasonable that they weren’t super quick. The entire place was full and everyone was really into the game.
It was a great experience (as this was the game the wings took a 3 – 1 lead in the series). The beer was super cheap. The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists alike.
Just overall a good time… but definitely a no frills experience. The atmosphere has you wondering if you’re in a diner or a sports bar. From what I saw, the food looked decent, but we did not eat here.

Huge chef salad, and they had Chardonnay… definite plus. The staff very friendly, superbowl night, nothing else in town open which prompted us to stop in and we’re very happy we did

The Bellaire Bar in Bellaire Michigan is a great place to eat, drink and be merry! Ice cold draft beer, great fish fry on Friday nights and a Wet Burrito thats so big you can get two meals out of it, their burgers are great also. Surrounded by the best golf and skiing/​snowboarding in Michigan. When your done at the bar peruse the quaint shops in town.

Good food. Fun bar. Cold beer in a cold mug! Good for kids — tiny bit slow for them but not too bad. Would go back again. :)”

Great burgers and awesome Friday fish fry. My mom loves their pulled pork sandwich. Not listed on menu, but they have great curly fries. Always busy on Fridays.
Overall, great friendly staff and great food.

Great place for a cheap (ish) night on the town. Super friendly staff, good bar-​fried food, wide selection of cocktails/​beer, favorite hang out among locals. Always a fun place to stop by on a weekend night during the busy summer months and holidays.

Tasty northern Michigan bar fare in a comfy atmosphere with generous portions and nice prices. Oh… and Short’s on tap!
