This delightful pizza restaurant is FULL of happy, laughing tables of customers, all talking to each other on this cold sunny day. It is comfortable and warm and the pizza with mozzarella, figs and prosciutto is fabulous!!! I had to order a second latte. One of the best I’ve ever had.

I found the food to be ok, however I wasn’t that impressed. In addition it was overpriced for what you got. They appeared to be an overpriced pizza shop pretending they are something they are not. The drinks were really good and the waitress did a good job.

We came here for dinner based on the great reviews and had a good meal. Their staple is rustic, old world style wood fired pizza. The Bresaola appetizer was delicious, a real treat. We split The Carpenter, a huge calzone with spicy salami which was tasty, but nothing I’d go running back for. Looking at the other diners pizzas, I’d go with a traditional pie on my next visit. I will say the calzone was perfectly cooked inside and out, and that’s no small feat. One off the attractions is their use of traditional Italian smoked meats. The highlight was a great tira misu, unlike any I’ve had. Not a «classic» presentation of the dish, but really superb. I’d come back for a coffee and that tira misu any time. Kind of expensive for what they offer, but that might just be the markup that comes with any restaurant in the Route 1 tourist zone. The great dessert and app, along with the friendly staff earned them an extra star from me.

What made their flatbread pizza different was their extensive Italian salumi offerings: speck and bresaola included. After the server explained to me that Guinciale is a ‘fine bacon from the cheek of the pig’ we ordered the Funicola pizza, along with a Farmers(with Prosciutto de Parma) and a Margarita — all enjoyable. We also ordered a starter of mussels that were a bit pungent but passable. Mixed drinks were creative, beer and wine list extensive. Pricing was aggressive at $ 18 +/-for a single pizza at lunchtime.

We went to Meanwhile in Belfast on a Saturday night around 630, restaurant was busy but we were able to get seated within 5 mins. Menu was a bit limited but we shared the farmer(very very good). The waiter did try to talk us into another pizza because they sell them as individual pies, we knew we wouldnt be able to eat two full pizza so we stuck with one and order a couple of beers. It took a little bit of time for the pie to come and but that was ok. They didnt have a pizza cutter available for our table which was a bit odd. And they only give us one plate. So one of us had to eat from the main plate which the pizza was on. The pizza was Amazing! love the cheese on the pizza. Overall it was good-actually restaurant is trying a little too hard to be fancy and prices were a bit high(beers were pricey!) But we would go again because of the PIZZA!

Expensive, crowded, service was okay. Pizza is good but for me it wasn’t worth the fuss

Was looking forward to eating here. But in a tourist town and during the height of tourist season we found the restaurant closed Tuesday and Wednesdays!

The food was good but the service was ABSOLUTELYAPPALLING. It took asking more than once for waters, the waiter made a point to oversell every item possible, he made a fuss about not including an ingredient, and then neglected to let me know that they ran out of a key ingredient in what I ordered(what Italian place runs out of pesto?). I would go back for the food and the cocktails but definitely not for the service.

Wow. Talk about your happy accidents… missed the left turn to route 3 on the way to Bar Harbor. The wrong turn yielded one of the best meals I’ve had in months. True Italian food, excellent wine(rose) and beer(Sabago ale), amazing tiramisu and excellent service. We had two different pizzas, thin sourdough crust– which turns out is delicious airy and just the right amount of chewy and crisp. It rivals anything I’ve eaten in San Francisco or NYC. We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon, dog in tow, and watched the boats in the harbor. A wonderful dining experience. What’s even more amazing is that the quality was so high and the restaurant has only been open 4 months.

I seriously doubt there is better pizza anywhere in Maine. It’s some of the best I’ve ever had. The space is great, the owners have a great backstory — they’re from Italy and they decided just over a year ago to just go for it during a trip as they were passing through Belfast — and the pizza is amazing. I want to try everything on their menu.

We had an incredible lunch! We shared fresh house-made pasta with tomatoes and basil and a delightful Poor Bill Puccia. Everything was flavorful and memorable. Service was fantastic too! We will definitely return.

This is a great restaurant!!! We came here for lunch. It was very nice on the inside with cute furniture including a couch for waiting. We were seated right away. We ordered mussels, oysters, the margherita pizza, and the farmer pizza. When the food came out it looked great. I had both pizzas which were amazing and the mussels which were delicious as well. Everything was fresh, the service was great, and the place was cute on the inside. Overall I’d give and 4 ½ stars and will be coming back again!!!

I really want to eat at this place more often, since everything on the menu looks SO good, but it is hit or miss on whether they have gluten-free crust. I was able to go once when they had GF crust and enjoyed their awesome strawberry, ricotta and maple glaze pizza. Call ahead if you are GF and if they are making it that day, then go!(I think they always have GF pasta, but that is not what I want when I go to a pizza place!) Location is a little tricky to find, but the space itself is very nice. They have free wifi, outdoor seating, and a great cocktail menu.

This place is delicious and authentic. I have never had wood-fired pizza that tastes this incredible. From the amazing sourdough crust and fantastic pizza sauce, to the craft beer/wine selection and out of this world tiramisu. Anyone who travels through Belfast needs to try this place! It is a somewhat hidden but it is well worth the search to experience the explosion of flavors that they have to offer.

Two words: sourdough crust. But sourdough doesn’t really capture the feeling and meaning of this bread. This is no mouth-puckering San Francisco style sourdough. The crust here is complex, subtle, and utterly delicious. No throw-away vehicle for a mound of cheese and pepperoni here, no; the toppings serve to highlight the crust, not hide it. If artisan bread sings to your soul, if you delight in the quasi-mystical fermentation process that transforms those three simple ingredients of flour, water, and salt into the staff of life, then come here and rejoice.

Had lunch at Meanwhile whilst visiting Belfast. Pizza was tasty with a thin wood fired sourdough crust that’s often hard to find in Maine! I had the Hot Summer pizza($ 16) for a main and the Bresaola($ 12) to start and a glass of white wine.($ 7). Quality was excellent– taking one star away as the price tag of $ 29 for lunch was slightly higher than anticipated for a pizza place in a renovated basement under a gift shop. Pizza should be between $ 10 – 12 not $ 16. Also, on the front door they advertise Wifi but it took a couple servers to figure out what one to use as the Meanwhile one is not actually the one to use. You have to select Tidewater and only get 30 min of guest access!

Amazing! The atmosphere is clean, fresh and inviting. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledge about the menu and wine pairings. We started with the mussels which were fresh, plump and wonderfully flavorful. They source there ingredients from local farmers and fisherman and everything is made from scratch. Tiramisu was a nice way to finish the meal. Nice view of downtown Belfast harbor. Definitely put on your list to try while in Belfast.

Had an excellent lunch with the visiting secret pizza snob. Shared a Super Food Sandwich and The Visionary(margarita) Pizza-all superb. Good coffee and a very tasty red Italian wine(to be remain un-named) All on a Friday lunch: a sunny, bustling, somewhat loud and happy vibe with beautiful service. Thank you MIB, I will be back often.

Hard to find but a good effort. Wood fired pizza in an authentic oven, 12 combinations $ 12 to $ 20. Tasty but thin crust pizza undercooked. Expensive craft beer selection. Waiter recommended a beer he admitted he didn’t try and didn’t tell me it was$ 12 bottle. Salad fresh and tasty. Very noisy bad acoustics. 1 pizza 1 salad 2 beers $ 52. Tasty but very anxious dining
