I like taking my friends deep in the woods, to places where most men can’t access without a Jeep.(it’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand) The trails are challenging and fun. Endless trails that turn into a maze of confusion. I don’t recommend coming here if it’s your first time without a guide, it’s very easy to get lost and not find your way back out unless your a hunter with hours and hours of trail experience.

Tahuya is great for ATV and dirt bike riding. Many trails with various types of riding to offer. I’m writing a review to warn people about the Howell Lake trail… It has a bridge that does not fit standard size ATVs. I was already riding for 4 hours and very tired when I approached the bridge around ¾ths of the way into the trail. I had to turn and go back which was quite a pain.

I love this place. Spend as much as the summer as I can up here. I’m from Belfair, and its where all my friends go. Great get-togrthers at night also. Amazing, fun, awesome place. Go and get dirty.

Awesome place to go off-roading there are 22 miles of «course» but then there are old forest service roads and side trails you could spend a whole weekend here and not see ½ of the park, a snorkel is recommend for some of the deeper parts of mud lake, great place with lots of trails no matter what level your off roader is at

Oh my GAWD, we are *NOT* going up that, right? Oh really? Nick, I love your ’89 ‘Yota Landcruiser, but how are the seatbelts? Secure? Okay. Um, lemme have another sip of my Tilt first, just in case it spills. HOLYSH*T…Are we seriously going down that??? Oh, okay, that’s a YESSSSSS… Wow, that was fun! Ohhh, big puddles! Wheeeeeeee! Damn, lookit THAT4 wheel machine. Oh, look… A nice gentlemen in a Nissan(?) wants to chat with us since he and his son saw us eating breakfast in Gorst… Oh hi! Wow, you’ve been coming out on these trails for 20 years with your son? Cool. Wow, you helped chase down a murderer when the cops couldn’t hit the trails to follow him? Neat. Well, nice chatting with you! *whisper* Um, Nick? Where are all these people’s teeth??? USEFULINFO: Just a 20 minute ride on the West Seattle Ferry to Southworth and then a quick jaunt over to the Tahuya State Forest in Belfair, unpaid volunteers have spent years creating and maintaining ORV/motorcycle trails for 4×4 enthusiasts to enjoy. It may be out in the middle of nowhere, but DAMN it sure is fun to bounce up hills and down hills and over rocks around trees and through lakes of mud for hours on end… I didn’t even get dirty! P. S. Ow, my back.
