WOW! This ‘hardware’ store has EVERYTHING! The staff is super friendly as well. Its not the typical hardware store that makes women feel out of place going in. If theres ever something I need that I can’t find at the grocery store, I stop here before driving somewhere else. They also give military discounts! Woohoo! :)(I never think to ask, but the cashier noticed my anchor necklace and asked)

I love our neighborhood Ace and think the new addition of the garden area is fantastic! I have recently had to return a few items(which I traditionally never do) and found it to be very easy even without the receipts. The sales people were very nice about the lack of receipt and were able to find the items purchased without too much trouble, refunding me the purchase price in full!

We love our neighborhood Ace Hardware. There’s never been a time I walked through the store and was not approached or asked by an employee if they could help me find something. The selection, for being a smaller sized store(as compared to Lowes or Home Depot) is actually not that bad. 90% of the time I find what I am looking for. More obscure items or several options of the same item may not be found here. Prices are generally higher, because you are paying for the convenience of not having to drive to Port Orchard, Bremerton or Shelton. You are also supporting a small business, which is what we like to do, so we have no problem overlooking the high prices. Ace has some great sales that beat out competitor’s pricing so just look thru the ads. We use our Ace card too and constantly have $$ to spend there in rewards. Have never had problems returning things, getting rain checks or dealing with rude employees. There is the occasional checkout clerk that does not go above and beyond — but at the same time aren’t downright awful. We will continue to shop at Ace!

I like the huge selection and organization of this place. The staff is friendly too. It’s a real asset to the area where places like this are few and far between. Most of the staff are friendly, however today I did have a not so nice experience on the hardware side of the store. I ususally shop the softer side that has the cleaning supplies and gardening products, but this time I needed an item to complete a home brewing project, so I ventured over to the«contractor’s» side, or where all the men grab tools and nuts and bolts for weekend projects. The guy who helped me get the product I needed was very friendly and nice, but the woman at the register was a regular Atila the Hun. She never said hello, and acted like I was bothering her with my small item that didn’t have a the skue that she needed to ring up on her register. When all was said and done I had to ask for a bag and she never asked me for my Ace Rewards number as all the other clerks do. I guess she didn’t think it was worth it because it was just under six dollars. She didn’t even say thank you, even though I thanked her, which I regretted later. She ignored me and carried on a conversation with the man in line behind me. She was a large woman, and looked like she spent her off hours arm wrestling with the guys at the local bar over beers. I suggest that management train her in the art of catering to women customers who have every right to be in a hardware store, and probably spend just as much, if not more than the men. Who do you think ripped out the lawn and planted a rock garden last year and painted the inside and outside of her house with no male help?
