I wish there was a four-and-a-half stars — because that’s how I’d really like to rate the Grapevine. This is my absolute go-to in Belchertown. Pros: The service is tops. Friendly, never stiff or stuffy. If anything they are overly-casual and more like friends than servers. It’s usually busy, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve tapped my fingers waiting. And I’ve been coming here for 5 years. The Menu: LOTS of choices. Their pizza is definitely a cut above in quality and flavor, but this is as close to «fine dining» as you get in B’Town. Seafood & Pasta dishes are all very good. And their specials are usually very interesting. Portions: Come hungry. You don’t get cheated. My girlfriend and I usually order an appetizer and two entrees. And always end up with a box to go. Prices are probably considered a little higher than other places in town, but only when you consider that this restaurant is in Belchertown. For similar quality in Northampton or Amherst you’d be paying more and getting less. Cons: Parking: The lot, when full, is tight. The spaces are close together and the back lot is a bit of a free-for-all. So we try to get there early when possible. Or call ahead. Steaks: While good, they aren’t high-end steakhouse quality. The prices are right in line with the cuts, but just keep that in mind that when you aren’t spending $ 50 on a steak, you aren’t getting one. Go for the sirloin tips which are just fine, or even better the ribs… ooooohhhh… those are great! My overall take is that this is clearly the best restaurant in town for a slightly more upscale evening than you’ll get from McCarthy’s, Antonio’s, etc. Those places all have their strengths too — but Grapevine is Belchertown’s best spot for a nice romantic dinner, a family outing, or just cozying up to the bar for a burger and beer.

We found this place while in town for a volleyball game. We were suprised by the speed of the service, quality of food, and the size of portions. It is a smaller family style location which is refreshing in this era of large company restaurants.
