National Spine and Pain Center

My mom has been going to their Pikesville location. She needs a hip replacement but was told by her Orthopedic Dr that she needed to be stronger for him to do the surgery and that he does not give prescriptions to manage pain so for her to continue to go to the pain center. She is actually bone on bone in her hip which you can imagine is extremely painful. On her last visit to this office back in December, she was supposed to get a cortisone shot in her hip but before her visit, she had a fall so she was in too much pain to get up on a table for a shot. Dr Wong gave her some other medication that made us think she was having a stroke so she went to the hospital by ambulance. She was admitted. She stayed there for 2 weeks and while there was given pain meds. They then released her to a rehabilitation facility because she could barely walk. She was at that facility for 2 more weeks and while there they gave her physical therapy to try to strengthen her so when she went back to the Ortho dr, he would hopefully feel better about surgery. When released from there, the dr gave her a prescription for pain meds so she had enough to last until her appointment today. She goes in for her appointment today and the pain center released her because they said she is getting meds from another dr which she is not. Here is a woman who we had to beg and plead for her to take the medicine and they just threw her out of their office and wouldn’t even let a senior citizen use the bathroom. Dr Wong wasn’t even MAN enough to come in to the examination room and tell her face to face. He sent some LACKEY in to do his dirty work! Until you are in this kind of pain, you have no idea what it feels like. I was bone on bone in my spine and just had major back surgery so I know the pain she feels. Now she has no pain meds and has no idea what to do now! Her Ortho appointment isn’t until the end of the month. She wants the surgery and would rather not take any pills at all. They seem to think everyone is a pill junkie and just want pills and if that was the case, she could have made an appointment to see them to get more pills but she figured like I did that there was no need since the rehab dr gave her enough to take while she’s doing physical therapy at home to get some strength! This is really sad! I would never recommend anyone to this facility. BELIEVE ME THIS WILL COME BACK ON YOU! I JUST HOPE YOU GUYS HAVE SOMEONE THAT IS MORE UNDERSTANDING ESPECIALLY IF IT IS YOUR ELDERLY PARENTS! IF I COULD RATE YOU NO STARS, I WOULD!

Absolutely horrible experience in almost every aspect. Dr. Wong was very nice and helpful. Ann at the desk I feel for her to have to work in such a shit hole. I come in at 12:30pm for 12:45pm appointment my first time being at this office. K was told that they cancelled my appointment. Well I didn’t give them permission and had just confirmed it the day before. I was told by Nicole the office manager that my appointment had been cancelled on 9÷3÷15 the same day I made it. Nicole started out nice enough, saying she’d fix it and gave me regionals number. Their solution make me wait three hours for the doctor to squeeze me in. Squeeze me in after I made an appointment. I brought up the fact that had I been late I would have been charged $ 35.00 and forced to reschedule. This is where Nicole gets rude saying that she apologizes but there is nothing her office can do and I need to be more understanding. I finally see the doctor at 3:00pm Dr. Wong was great apologized and said he wanted to make it right. His assistant gave me an exam, paperwork, and a prescription. All with someone else’s information on it. Now, Nicole is really horrible because I question her staffs ability to work in a doctor office. Saying that by giving me this persons information I could have destroyed their lives and all because they breached HIPPA. Nicole kept saying what do you want me to do. I told her had I been asked my information before being handed to me this could have been avoided. That again its highly illegal and I’m concerned with them handling my paperwork. If I was anyone I’d just find a different doctor. This office is a joke and so is most of the staff.
