Yes, there is usually a line here but it is well worth the wait! The food is AMAZING I love the roasted red pepper soup and I get a half BLT. It taste so fresh and flavorful, my husband loves the Cream of crap soup and Egg salad sandwich. Save some room for their home made ice cream it’s to die for !

Best ice cream stop in Maryland that I’m aware of. I went for the chocolate and salted caramel cup, didnt regret a second of it. The ice cream is well made and not too sweet or loaded with stuff. A great place for real ice cream purists. Highly recommend, as its so close off I-95.

Yummy! The ice cream is amazing! The staff is always pleasant and the place is always jammin’. It’s wonderful to sit out near the fields and eat ice cream watching the sun go down! I’m so happy to see you guys at the farmers market on Saturday mornings as well!

Had a great visit. They were extremely busy, which is a good sign, but semi-problematic if you are visiting with toddlers/infants. The cream of crab was legit the chunkiest/lumpiest crab soup I have ever had in my life. It was fantastic. My only complaint is that the soup was very much lukewarm. Almost like they had just started warming up a new batch, and because of rush, served soup before fully heated. It had already been a bit of a wait, so I just ate it as is… it was still that good! Ice cream was amazing. The girls behind counter were extremely helpful, even offering to split our one order of ice cream into two cups so flavor wouldn’t mix! So nice, especially with how slammed they were… I would definitely return!

This ice cream is pure bliss. I live fairly close to it and any time I take the car out, I find myself veering in that direction because«I’m suddenly hungry». This hunger is solely reserved for Broom’s Bloom, of course and cannot be satiated. Ever. On days that I have had a heavy meal, my body has developed a new organ: The Bloom Stomach, that is reserved for, you guessed it, Brooms Bloom. My favorite flavor it dirt. Please always have it available!

This place is such a gem of a discovery. Just 10 minutes off of 95— idyllic picturesque farm country, gloriously delicious homemade comfort foods, AND real fresh from-the-dairy ice cream. Holy COW. We had their ½ sandwich + cup of soup/Mac & cheese + «tiny» ice cream(which is like a normal size 2scoop cup, definitely NOT tiny) combo– the price was about $ 12. We both chose the BLT on wheat toast which came with so much perfectly cooked thin bacon, a fresh ripe tomato and lettuce. For the«cup» we chose crab soup/mac & cheese combo — I never heard of this before but ITWASAMAZING creamy cheesy crabby aldente perfect Mac & cheese — and it was not a cup but a full soup bowl full. I don’t know how We managed to squeeze in the ice cream… But aaaaaaah the ice cream… Well if you’ve ever had real ice cream made at a dairy this will take you back in time. And if you haven’t, then here’s where to try it. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop at a MD House or any other rest stop on the way to Md, DC or points south. I’m stopping here instead. Good thing I run…

Wow. This is my new favorite place to go while on a road trip past this area. My boyfriend brought me the Maryland Mac(half Mac and cheese, half cream of crab soup) one time before, and I was super excited to come here myself. They also sell a bunch of other things like you’d expect from a farm/restaurant– milk, meats, ice cream, etc. They have a bunch of lunch combos you can order– not sure what they’re called though. The one I got came with a cup of soup, half sandwich, and a «tiny scoop» of their homemade ice cream(which is not tiny by any standard). It also comes with a bag of chips, but that’s not on the menu. Of course, I got the Maryland Mac for my soup(costs an extra $ 2, but well worth it because of the larger portion size). This was even better than I remembered it– if you come here, this is a must. And it’s big enough to fill you up with just this! I also got the BLT, which was great. The bacon was sliced super thin and crispy. For the ice cream, they have a number of changing options as well as a couple others on their menu. The strawberry ice cream was absolutely fantastic, super creamy and with actual pieces of strawberries that I could see. Seriously, come here. You won’t regret it. And I will most definitely be back.

I would probably live here if I could! I visited on a day with gorgeous weather, 9÷23÷15. It was crowded, as the local schools were closed for the holiday. The line was almost out the door when I arrived, which, from what I’ve seen & read, is nothing to write home about. I got the Maryland Mac with Cream of Crab — which is a wondrous creation of creamy mac & cheese topped with their cream of crab soup & topped with Old Bay chips! I mean come on! What I simply LOVED was that you could order your ice cream when you placed your initial order, but if you wanted to wait to have your dessert until after you ate your food, they give you a token to hold onto! That way, you don’t wind up with bowl of ice cream soup, or worse — a cone! I took a seat outside to stare at the view(see picture), and waited(somewhat) patiently for my food. It’s great people watching here. Kids & families running around & playing. When I visited there was a giant field of sunflowers, which you’re welcome to roam into. There are tables & chairs outside, as well as picnic tables, and I saw a number of people sitting on the grass as well. They also sell a lot of products, some their own & some from other local farms/etc. Cheese, yogurt, chicken & pork are just a few. Food was excellent, ice cream was excellent, and honestly my whole experience was excellent. I cannot wait to go back to Broom’s.

Recently came here for ice cream based upon online reviews, and it turns out some truth can be found on the internet. Ice cream is creamy and delicious(I personally let mine melt a bit to soften it up a bit), there’s a nice variety of flavors, prices can’t be beat, atmosphere inside and out is relaxing and inviting, and staff are super friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Broom’s Bloom was on my bookmark list forever, and I finally got the chance to try it out a week ago. Located in Harford County where my aunt, uncle, and cousin live, visiting necessitated a mini family get-together, so my mom and I met them at their place before piling into the car to head over together. Despite its proximity to Baltimore, this section of Harford County is quite rural, so it’s fitting that a place like Broom’s would set up shop here. Because our visit coincided with dinnertime, I used the opportunity to try several of Bloom’s savory offerings before trying their ice cream. Intrigued by the half-and-half crab soup, which consists of equal parts MD crab and cream of crab, I decided to try this as well as the Maryland mac, macaroni and cheese topped with cream of crab soup and Old Bay chips. Though I’ve never tried straight MD crab soup before, I enjoyed how the richness and thickness of the cream of crab soup cut the thinness and spiciness of the MD crab in the half-and-half version. The MD mac, on the other hand, was as decadent as its description denotes, and the cream of crab complemented the mild cheese used in the mac well. They almost forgot the topping of Old Bay chips, though, so if you’re as much of an Old Bay fiend as I am, be sure to check your order to ensure that it contains this essential finishing touch! As for the ice cream, it was everything I’d hoped for – rich, creamy, and delicious. I ordered the small size, which consisted of two scoops, with dirt and chocolate cake batter ice cream. To my surprise, the dirt ice cream didn’t contain crushed Oreos – rather, it contained bits of chocolate, which I preferred. Though the chocolate cake batter ice cream looks similar to plain old chocolate ice cream, the cake batter gives it a bit of saltiness and nice extra flavor. One of the major highlights of Bloom’s is the beauty of the property, which is fully visible from the outdoor seating. At the time of my visit, red clover was in bloom, making for a stunningly beautiful backdrop. In the summer, the sunflowers bloom, which I’m told is impressive. Our visit was perfectly timed – at the time that we arrived, the rain was tapering off, and once we finished and headed outside to take in the scenery, a partial rainbow greeted us. Overall, I found Bloom’s quite charming in many respects. The food and ice cream were good, the employees were friendly(if a bit slow), and the scenery was beautiful. Though Bloom’s isn’t super convenient to my parents’ place, it’s well worth going out of the way to experience. We’ll have to organize another family outing to visit it again sooner rather than later!

Great ice cream and family friendly as the kids can run around outside and walk through the flower field. I didn’t personally eat the Mac and cheese, but my sis and law did ordered it when we were there and said it was fantastic(it is made once you order).

Only went once when we were looking for a house but I can’t wait to go back. I had the crab soup which was divine and homemade ice cream. I still think about the ice cream. The service stood out and I adored the ‘chip’ system for having ice cream after your meal. The décor is plentiful without feeling overwhelming. Very warm, very cozy. I love, love, love his place.

I stopped in here for the first time on a rainy, blustery day — a very weary traveler who needed a warm respite. Wow — was I grateful I did! I was rewarded with a big bowl of Cream of Crab soup that seemed bottomless… so big, that I took half of it home and it filled a small To Go container. The crab was lumpy and the texture was darn near perfect — thick but not that cloyingly pudding-like thickness. Instead it was rich and hearty — although I did make the spoon stand up in it. Next time I go, I will definitely have to get some of that soup to take home… because I know that I will definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic ice cream. Rich, flavorful, smooth… wow. We got to eat the ice cream while we overlooked the farm. They have cute little picnic tables set up outside the dairy. It was a nice wholesome experience. We could smell the other foods they were serving and decided we needed to come back asap. If you’re looking for great local ice cream. Come here!!!

Pretty interesting — the sweet smell warms you as you walk inside — very country styles décor — very open and welcoming — staff are herded at the registers ready to take orders — half of the sits are taken but there’s still more than enough seats open for another 20 patrons —

To me, atmosphere is(almost) everything. I think that’s why I like this place more than I should. I knew I would like this place based on the drive alone. Being a Marylander who unfortunately moved to Florida, I LOVED the forests we drove through going here. Pulling in, I fell in love with the whole pastoral feel of the place – gravel parking lot, a nice huge grassy area, and corn fields everywhere. Much better than the Rita’s-esque setting than I was expecting. Well, that’s what I get for not checking Unilocal. The interior of the shop is cozy and the employees friendly, if rushed(the line was out the door). Next time I’m visiting(or moving back… who knows), I think I want to try some of their farm grown meat and dairy. They look delicious! Now, to the ice cream. There are a myriad of awesome flavors to try. Dirt sounded delicious, but I adore Andes mints, so I got the Andes mint ice cream sundae(topped with hot fudge). As others have said here, the sizes are way bigger than you’d think. The very small(what I ordered) was basically a small, or even a medium if you push it. I’d say the small is a medium, and the medium is large and the large and extra large. The ice cream was… not mindblowing, but better than grocery store ice cream. I’m partial to really rich, creamy, indulgent ice creams(I’m talking to you gelato), and this was just not that. It was good, but not great. I also would have appreciated more pieces of Andes. Like I mentioned earlier, the setting is splendid. A nice cool summer night probably made my ice cream taste better than it did. There was some teenager playing acoustic covers of songs. I was not a fan. Really, this place isn’t as AMAZING as everyone says it is. The ice cream was pretty good, setting amazing and prices relatively low($ 23 for six people, sizes ranging from small to medium, all sundaes). If you’re in the area, this place is worth a stop.

On my recent visit to Broom’s Bloom, I ordered an ice cream duo which can be aptly described as a picnic in a cup. Let that sink in for a few minutes. Picnic. Cup. What images does that phrase conjure up? Well, think of sweet corn churned with cream to make the most magical of desserts. Add a pretty purple scoop of ice cream that somehow tastes like a blueberry pie, and you are golden. That odd couple turned out to be a harmonious combination. Who would have thought? Take note that the sizes are deceptively big. A very small is a small, a small is a medium and so on. You can get half and half flavours, and even a cone on top. Apparently the flavours change every so often, minus the usual vanilla and ice cream. You can also get homemade quiches, soups and sandwiches — note that the only food item available after 7pm is soup(the crab is delish). Loved the ice cream, and I think you will too!

After a truly horrible drive(NYC to DC on the Sunday of the Independence Day Weekend? What were we thinking!?) we skipped the overcrowded rest stop and engaged Unilocal to find us dinner/break. And boy did Unilocal deliver. With an anxious 2yo in the back the ability to run around outside, live music and, of course, delicious food made this a great stop(though it violated my «more than one mile off the highway» rule). We went with a spread, both of us getting the sandwich(ham salad for me and egg salad for the wife), side(delicious crab soup and great mac and cheese), along with a small quiche, followed, eventually,(they have a system where they give you a chip to redeem after your meal) awesome ice cream. We got combo’s that came with a completely misnamed«very small» size(after the meal I don’t see how you can eat anything more and not feel bad) of some pretty broad selection of flavors. Definitely will stop in again the next time I am driving this route.

I love it here. The cows, the sunflowers, the ICECREAM. I know they also have food and I’ve been meaning to try it because it always smells great, but the ICECREAM. It’s my favorite ice cream of all time from anywhere ever in all of my ice cream eating years(which is 26 so far). It’s creamy and airy and basically perfect. Dirt and lemon peppermint are my most favorites. However, the selection changes daily– you can find what’s available written on the chalkboard. Portions are phenomenal for the price. Employees are always nice and you can see they’re working hard and doing the best they can, so don’t get too flustered if service is a little slow(it can be on occasion and you’ll forget you even waited once you’re eating your ice cream anyway). A+ 10⁄10 I dream of this ice cream

I love this local dairy farm. I have spent many afternoons and evenings here while in the area enjoying the amazing ice cream and relaxing in a rocking chair. It’s a family ran farm and you can almost always find the matriarch serving up ice cream or one of the many food options they offer. The ice cream selection changes daily. They do try and keep vanilla and chocolate on hand but there’s been times I have not seen it on the chalkboard. If you are a fan of chocolate like myself and you happen to see DIRT on the ice cream list go for it. No need to thank me. Just enjoy. They also offer products from other local farms. You’ll find cheese and meats along with seasonal fruit and veggies. Let’s not forget to mention that they have live music on Friday/Saturday nights. I’m sure there are things I’m forgetting to mention like the balls/games that they put out for the kiddos. All I can leave you with is if you are anywhere near this place you need to stop by.
