Best French café I’ve found in Austin. The food is as good as any café in Paris. My only complaint is the building is too small, not enough seating and long lines on the weekend. But it is worth the wait!

Umm. I had a higher expectation that this place would blow my mind. It wasn’t bad, it was just ok to me! Pastries and breakfast were good. I don’t want to me mean but I had better croissants in a French bakery in Houston, TX. The biggest let down was French latte. I love latte especially in a French coffeeshop, but I couldn’t taste any coffee in mine, and what happened to this thick whipcream in my coffee? It was too much whipcream and not enough coffee in my latte. It was too far to drive and wasn’t worth gas money. Another thing, please please please provide us with a cleaner bathroom.

I was so excited to try this place out because of the reviews. My pastry was burned on the bottom! So, I went back thinking that is was just an accident and the same almond pastry was burnt again! Sorry…not worth a third try!

I, for one, love this place. I always visit Baguette et Chocolat when I roll into town – which says a lot because there are plenty of delicious places to eat in Austin. The ladies that work here are super-nice(and very attractive)! I’m always greeted with a smile and don’t mind the wait sometimes to get a table. The food is worth it. I really enjoy the omelettes and crepes here. The Nutella crêpe is so simple, and it’s so tempting to order two entrees. I actually do most of the time. I also like the croissants and have been meaning to try the macarons. The selection is simple, and the ingredients are honest. I just ate there a few hours ago and am already craving a pastry. Maybe I will go back and get it with one of the delicious coffees!

I have come here a few times, and I can’t say how much I wish there was a closer location in central/east Austin. The croissants are great — buttery layers through out. Rich omelets. Light but decadent crepes. The place is a little small, but we’ve always been able to find a seat. Being out in Bee Caves, we have to get up early so we can still get our hands on a chocolate crossaint. If you’re out near Bee Cave, make a trip out here for your breakfast/brunch.

Are you over 60 and enjoy bland food? THENTHISISTHEPLACEFORYOU!!! Seriously I can make a better sandwich with a panini maker and random items in my pantry. Got here in the morning with high hopes and was handed a cold airport sandwich. Not sure why this place has stellar reviews, but it grosses me out.

Came in to buy at least $ 200 worth of goodies. After waiting for about 20 seconds in front of the counter, nobody greeted me. The young girls behind the counter were too busy chatting about I don’t know what. I even approached the register, and the girls still kept chatting, not even recognizing my presence. This is how some places in Austin are turning into. Just straight don’t give a crap about the customer. I’ll take my money to Whole Foods, and keep going with our business event as planned. Too bad for the owners of this place. They really do have good deserts.

Always a treat, often a treat rather. I make the 30 minute drive here more often than I care to admit to stock up on proper bread and the best macarons in town. I love the friendly staff, the truly delicious pain, the pistachio macaron and all the omelettes and galettes. None of it unreasonably priced. They’re always lovely about tailoring things if you ask. Service is a little slow — but entirely in keeping with a place that actually makes food from scratch and usually has a very healthily full dining room. It always feels a bit grimy and could definitely do with a facelift. A great place to grab a coffee and dash or a casual lunch but not a smart spot! Four stars because the food is perfection. Not quite five because the environment lacks a bit of charm.

We have tried to eat here 3 times but only succeed once. It’s always ridiculously crowded and you have to stand in line to order, which goes very slowly. There were 3 of us and we had breakfast on a Saturday mid-morning — 1 omelette, 1 croque madam and 1 scrambled egg with a croissant. All were quite delicious but not sure if worth standing in line to order, then waiting for food and sitting on hard little chairs. We have tried to go back at a later time closer to the end of weekend breakfast rush to avoid the crowd but then they were out of crepes and the bakery was out of just about everything except a few scraps. The last time we tried to go we just got a look at the line and turned around. No luck. I wish they stayed open for dinner on weeknights. We’d definitely come back but they close in the afternoon. We’ll try again at some point and hope we can catch a window of opportunity.

This was my first visit to this lovely bakery/restaurant. I loved it and so did my husband. A very happy ambience and the bread and food was amazing in taste and presentation. Every item we ordered looked like art and tasted so authentic. Can’t wait to bring family and friends here!

Cute little morning breakfast/brunch hotspot in bee caves. My sister lives nearby and she is always raving about their panini and crepes so we checked it out. I was a little scared because other reviews made it sound like it was always jammed packed but we went at about 10:30 and it was fine. I got the Parisian buckwheat crêpe with Brie, ham, and sliced tomato. It was amazing. I am not a fan of buckwheat generally speaking but really the only difference was it was a little bit heartier. I have never seen them folded square like that but it made sense with the fillings. My savory crêpe came with a side salad, which was beautiful, but sadly a tad overdressed with a mustard vinaigrette. Hubs got the ham, bacon, and Swiss omelet and was very pleased. We also ordered a sweet crêpe to share– the lemon sugar, and it was delicious. Light, perfect texture, not gooey and over filled. Staff was very helpful with suggestions when I told them it was our first time. The dining area was clean and well lit with lots of windows. There is an adorable little kids corner as well, which several parents were taking advantage of– their youngins watching tv while they sipped lattes. If anything could improve, it was the wait time– but it really wasn’t bad at. And the food completely justified the wait. Overall– I would definitely make a point to come hear if in the area!

Awesome traditional French Café, great for breakfast! Love the croissants, crepes, and handmade breads. Store hours are a bit limited and that’s the only reason I can’t give them five stars. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area!

Ever since my fiancé and I discovered this place we have been making weekly visits! Authentic French cuisine and pastries, absolutely delicious. The girls who work there are always so sweet and although the service can be a little slow with one register, the meal is well worth the wait!

I love this place. My favorite sandwich is the Parisian(ham and cheese on a baguette), it has french mustard and butter. Real butter that you can taste, it takes me back to my childhood. The owner is charming and clearly passionate about her craft, she will patiently engage when people want to practice their French. It is good and attracts crowds at the weak-ends, so expect to wait a little, but it is well worth it. I think it deserves a better location, but I am sure that will come as the place is always packed.

It REALLY annoys me that they ask for a tip on the iPad app when I stand in line to order two loaves of bread. Then they also have a huge jar to remind me to tip again. Come on French Bakery, you are not a restaurant, a tip jar is okay but suggesting I add 15, 20 or 25% to my order is a bit much. BTW your french baguette was hard and dense, it wasn’t airy. I won’t be back for another.

It is an endearing little shop. Had the fromaggio sandwich, and it tasted like it had real mozzarella cheese! I think it could do with some more veggies and just a little less cheese, but that’s something I’ll try asking for next time I go. My companion enjoyed his ham and Swiss croissant. The things that put the cherry on top was the raspberry frappé chocolat. MOOOORRREPLEAAASE. It’s like a frozen hot chocolate, no coffee. Oh yum yum yum yum. I’m sure they can put in an espresso shot if you want it, but I really think it’s good by itself. We also had an orangeade, good and refreshing.

Hands down the most(and perhaps the only) authentic French boulangerie/pâtisserie in town. The croissant sandwiches and crepes are delicious, the coffee is so-so(thou that’s normal for French establishments lol), and the patisseries are accurately prepared and are spot on in terms of both flavor and texture. We tried the classics: opera, millefeuille, choux crème and they were all very good. The custard and cream fillings could be improved upon by making them more airy since they are a tat heavy on the palate. In Austin where you can’t find a proper French patisserie to save your life, Baguette et Chocolat is a rare jewel.

The pastries here are spot on and the breads are amazing. My review though is for the lackluster sandwiches that you’ll pay a hefty price for. My wife and I come here all the time to enjoy the authentic French pastries which are always great but have started to branch out to other menu items. I’ve now tried at least 3 or 4 different sandwiches hoping that each time I’ll have a better experience than the time before. Skimpy on meat and cheese and heavy on mustard, you’d be better off taking their bread home and making your own sandwich. We’ll continue to frequent this establishment but will stop trying to find a decent sandwich here.

C’est si bon! I’m serious. This place has the best croissants i’ve had this side of the Atlantic and they’re on a par with the pastries i had eating my way through France. It’s an added bonus when the woman running the place has the accent from the place in which the food originated. The ambiance is modern and definitely not romantic but this place is only open until 5:30pm so that shouldn’t really matter. We shared the croque madame(had to! runny yolk is like savory icing) which was delicious and rich enough for two to share but we both agreed the major standouts were the almond croissant and the pain au chocolate. Dip them in your latte or hot chocolate and the décor will be the last thing on your mind. It’s located in a small shopping center with a Broadway Bank, before you get to the HEB shopping center.
