Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! It’s an amazing 50’s-style diner. The food is exceptional! The service is awesome(Mary ROCKS!!!) It was a wonderful experience. Two hungry adults ate for just under $ 20 before tip. The quality of food is unbelievable! Honestly, we liked it better than Kincaid’s…WOW!!!

had lunch there today with a buddy, He and I were both shocked about how good the burgers. I got fries he has O-rings. I will say that my fries were better, the service was good and quick. They gave us a free sample of a milk shake. It was to early for me to have oe, but tasty no the less. The prices were fair I paid $ 13 for a drink and a double burger.

This place is amazing! Second time visiting yesterday! They take care of you! Food is great. The price is right. Food is quick! Second time there we came in at 9:00 thinking it was closing at 10:00 but took our order and we didn’t even notice or they didn’t act like they were about to close and they didn’t try kicking us out! I feel bad after realizing we were there 30 min after closing time! Point is they are great people!

Drove 13 hours each way to try HWY55 because my husband insisted it was worth the drive and he was right. We took food to go because it was that good. I cannot wait to go back home with him so I can eat this all the time. I would definitely and probably will make this drive many more times. The food was phenomenal, the service was great, I loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was so nice and patience with us as we ordered food to take back with us too. The only complaint I had was I wish I could have taken more food to go, but we were afraid it would be bad by the time we got back. The sweet tea is by far the best I have ever had.

The burgers were great. I had Andy cheese burger and my husband had John Boys BBQ bacon double burger. They were wonderful. The service was quick and we didn’t have to wait long for our order. We will be back!

Pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but it is a straight-up good burger joint. The server was polite and came by frequently. Everyone else I was with claimed to have enjoyed their food. I did make the mistake of ordering a huge burger, which would have required hinged snake jaws to eat cleanly. I championed that hefty hamburger though, and was happy enough with it! I’ll say that there was a little pink in the middle of the burger, a PLUS for me, as most people just hammer that poor patty. 4⁄5 because they are local and deserve it.

Good place to have a quick dinner, better than fast food chains at least. Very good service, great staff out there. Burger-wise it’s really, meh. Fries is somehow aweful to me. I’d cross street for twisted root. Sorry

Very disappointed in their garden salad! First off it was iceberg lettuce(gross) at least have Romaine lettuce, freaking Wendy’s has romaine lettuce in their garden salad and spinach. Then it only had a couple pieces of meat and a whole bunch of iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce is $.99 cent at the Grocery stores and I was charged $ 9 for the stupid salad that sucked. I was in the mood for a great salad and that just ruined my day. And the girl that took my order gave horrible service and new nothing of the menu and it took her about 7 min to figure out how to print me a receipt. I will not be returning back to the place!!!

It’s really good! Just a simple menu with American basics like burgers, fries and shakes. Very nice service and speedy food delivery makes this a frequent dinner spot for our family.

We decided Hwy 55 over Cicis pizza. We walked in to a friendly environment where all the servers greeted us and explained that we seated ourselves and a server woukd come assist us. When we sat down we ordered a root beer float, vanilla shake, cheeseburger and the John Boy and Billy BBQ Bacin Burger. The server was helpful and suggested my fiancé ordwe a side of onion rings instead of another order of fries since mine cane with fries. The portion size was generous

I seriously love this place. I went for the first time and then came back without 3 days. It’s really more of an experience, so I’ll try to paint a good picture. We walk in, and are surprised by how well decorated it is. There’s a charming 50’s theme and oldies music playing. Everyone we passed said, «hi! Sit wherever you like, and we’ll be right with you.» We found a booth and sat down. A server comes to our table and gives us menus and WOW. I mean WOW. The prices are FANTASTIC. So we order burgers, fries onion rings, drinks, etc and spent like $ 20! Our server is delightful and she even brings us samples of the custard. FREEFROZENCUSTARD, PEOPLE. And let me tell you– it’s delicious. That sneaky waitress, reeling us in. The burgers are cheap, I think the most expensive one is around $ 7. The meat is seasoned nicely and they have a lot of options as far as burgers goes. The fries are crispy and the onion rings were wonderful. We got a milkshake as well, because we couldn’t say no! We will definitely be back. So glad we Found this place!

I came back! They really redeemed themselves. Cheeseburgers are so good, especially for the price! You pay the same for a McDonald’s cheeseburger and get ten times the quality. Love how close it is to my house too

Stellar service, the staff was friendly and quick. Their lemonade is really good not too sweet or sour. Their shrimp po boy was just as good as going to the gulf and getting one coast side. The diner feel was a nice change and their pricing is fair. The onion rings are thick and juicy, their cheeseburgers are well seasoned and offer choices on your cheese from provolone to American. I love that they offer frozen custard, in scoops and concretes.

Super cute diner! The food was good and surprisingly inexpensive. The restaurant is much bigger than it appears from outside. The décor is themed 50’s style and has good music to compliment! The staff was very friendly and took good care of us. Highly recommend stopping in for a bite if you’re in the area. We each had a cheeseburger and split a basket of fries. The basket is a pretty good size and even sharing, we still had quite a bit leftover! We will definitely be back!

Ehhhh. Not horrible. Overpriced and it’s lite like an office. Burgers are teeny tiny but ok. Chilli cheese fries n hand squeezed lemonade had us go back a 2nd time. But probably won’t be back anytime soon.

Was looking forward to trying Hwy 55. Went for dinner at 5:30 and only 2 tables occupied. No one bothered to tell us to take any seat. Ordered burgers, fries and drinks. Food was good. Nothing to brag about. We asked for refills of our tea. The waitress said«I don’t think we have refills.» We had already watched the other tables get refills. Way over priced for what you get. Can go down the street to Cheddars for a better meal for the same price. Don’t plan to come back! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. We watched this place begin to transform from Le Peeps, to Hey 55 over a year ago. We were more than happy when we finally saw it was open, as we live in Florida full-time. My parents offered up an in-mail coupon sheet and we were off. The place is right and open. A 180 from before. No more dingy green carpet and odd lattice panels. A new diner-style décor and soda shop-yup bar is what you’ll find. It was after 8 pm on a Sunday, so it wasn’t busy. The manager greeted us as he opened the door and told us to pick any table we liked. My son is a fan of booths, so a booth it was. Their menu is simple: burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken, and a few salads. I planned to have a burger but remembered I’d had a steak for lunch. So I opted for the servers recommendation: the shrimp po-boy. I also added gravy fries to the order. The kids got chicken tenders and the hubby had a John Boy and Billy chicken sandwich. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. However, one of the kids chicken strips was still pink. We informed the server and she promptly had a new order placed. That said a lot. Most high schoolers wouldn’t realize that chicken isn’t supposed to be pink. Or be polite about it. She was awesome. And though an inconvenience, it was nice to know they used fresh chicken. The replacement strips were perfect. My shrimp was cooked perfectly. Tender and not overcooked. And the po-boy sauce is really good as well. The chicken sandwich across the table didn’t last long, nor did the gravy fries. We ended with a scoop of ice cream(frozen custard) with hot fudge and whipped cream. It was spot-on. Oh, and the hand squeeze their orangeade and lemonade. It would have been 5 stars except the floor was pretty grimy and it took a while for the gals to bus the tables. Other than that, we will be back. Next time I’ll be trying the burger.

This was nice little place to have lunch. It has that great retro dinner feel inside with the oldies music playing and the 1950’s Décor. I had a shrimp po boy, onion rings and a ice cream soda. For the size of the ice cream soda I thought it was a little pricey but it tasted awesome. The onion rings are a must have. Nice thick onion ring, not overly breaded and batter was crisp and tasty. Shrimp po boy was also excellent. Bread was great, soft and dress hoagie role and the Po Boy and a massive amount of shrimp and was not that expensive. If you live in the area you have to give this place a try. Also the service was wicked fast and friendly.

Great burgers! Shrimp po boy was delicious as well. Love the 50s décor. Everyone is so nice. Fresh homemade food(customizable toppings), shakes and drinks. My favorite thing here is the Orange J. I hate orange juice but this drink is so delicious. Crazy I know! Try one please! Deliciously sweet and freshly squeezed

Pimento bacon cheeseburger is amazing. Gave us a free sample of the custard and it was so tasty we brought a pint home. Been here a few times in the beginning, service wasn’t too great, but this go around it looks like they got all the kinks worked out. Will be back!

I’ve been here twice now, and I have to say that it is pretty decent. The menu and food are simple, but good. I love that I can order brown gravy on my french fries. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I’ve tried the a cheeseburger and I’ve gotten the pimento bacon cheeseburger. I will be getting that pimento concotion again — I really enjoyed that.

The service was fast and super friendly. Try the fresh squeezed lemonade you will thank me! The community really needs to get behind this place cause it’s a hidden gem! We will be back!

My department and I came here for our holiday lunch on a Monday(yes, this is a pretty late review). We stood at the door for a couple minutes before we were helped(even though the place wasn’t busy at all) but once seated, the service from then on was good. I was reminded a lot of Steak & Shake entirely with the diner feel and even the food. I got a simple bacon cheeseburger with a side of fries and it was just that, normal and nothing special. If you like the diner feel though, this might be the place for you.
