I’ve been here several times since my last review and each time it has gotten progressively worse. Last time I swore I won’t be back. I’m pretty much done with this place.

I’ve been to the Firepit Buffet and Grill about 4 times. Each time the food is a little worse, selections not the same as before. The thing that bothered me most was temperature. The food was not hot… none of it. So when you combine luke warm and bland food, it leaves me with nothing I want to return for.

Started off good but I have noticed that their quality has slipped dramatically. Food is bland now. The cheese for nachos is a strange glossy orange color and is tasteless. The deserts were never good but the rest of the food was fairly tasty for a buffet. Now I wouldn’t recommend any one go.

Mediocre at best… A colleague of mine and I went to Firepit for lunch today(5-Jan-2012). Prices were very reasonable, and there were a lot of choices: Barbecue etc., Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean; a huge salad bar; deserts. Quality was another matter. I had a mixture of salads — good –, but then, disappointment came swift: Asian pork and broccoli — meat so chewy I couldn’t eat it, broccoli hard as a rock; Asian popcorn shrimp — coating three times the thickness of the shrimp itself; Mediterranean fish — dried out and heavily coated with spices so that you couldn’t taste the fish anymore. If you are on a budget, want to fill your stomach and don’t care about quality, this is the place for you. For me, this was the first and last visit…

As far as buffets go, this one takes the cake… I mean, you have to compare it vs. other buffets. It’s definitely not gourmet food, and it’s not the best burger in town, etc. It’s the only buffet I’ve seen that has a massive variety of food from different regions. Multiple salads, entrees, appetizers, etc, and is CLEAN! The cleanliness surprised me. It was really clean, the employees were generally friendly, and the food was WAY better than Golden Corral or the other generic buffets. I recommend it.

I heard so much about this place and how great it was but it was far from wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great. some of the stuff was pretty good while some of it was just ok. they did have a really large selection of food so that was a plus but overall it was just ok. I would prob go back but it wouldn’t be at the top of my list.

Not a fan of buffets but Firepit was surprising clean and the food was fresh. Sure, they have the frozen crappy fried varieties of food like eggrolls and breaded shrimp — but the roasted chicken, salad bar, roasted veggies you could tell were prepared in house and were pretty tasty. It’s better than say, Golden Corral, but just not my bag of chips if u know whut I’m sayin’…may go back in a pinch — with a coupon… that would be worth it

Nope. We mistakenly went on a Sunday at dinner time. I wanted to leave when we walked inside and I saw a line 20 deep just to get to the cashier. But, I thought, it must be at least kinda good to be this busy. I was wrong. There are lots options and nothing was horrible, but nothing was really good. The mashed potatoes were homemade– that was a plus. I dunno, maybe I was just grumpy. I just wanted to leave. It smelled funny, there was smoke from the grill wafting all over, they ran out of plates, the salad was wilted, most things were frozen or prepackaged. I had some steak from the grill, it had been marinated it something that tasted funny. I had a baked potato, it was waaayyyy over baked and the sour cream tasted funny(is there a such thing as fake sour cream? If so, I think I had some.), tried some mashed potatoes, they were pretty good, but needed salt. Ugh, I just kept striking out!!! My husband ate a ton of fried butterfly shrimp, they were hot and fresh. Not for me…

Was there for Lunch on 08−13−11 $ 9.99 Yes, lots of choices… reminded me kind of a casino buffet. Had your American, Mexcian, Asian, Meditterean, and Salads/Soups. Let me start off with the positive first… it was clean, waitress kept picking up our dirty plates and refilling our drinks. My sister’s fav was the fried okra, my bro in law’s the tea and mines the fried fish, and roast beef/steak. That was all…=) Everything else was bland… me and my sister both spit out something but I don’t remember what it was.(Argh should’ve wrote the review earlier) And I never spit out food… we all agreed that golden corral was much better. I will not go back. We were all dissappointed because eveyrthing looked good, but no flavor. And I agree with the other post… the desserts were not good either. Everything was dry and not tasty.

Awesome! If you leave this place, hungry, then something is wrong with you. the food is always fresh and plentiful. A big variety and the price is good. My only complaint would be that since you pay first, unless you bring cash, a tip is hard to give. Otherwise, YUMMY to the max!!!

We went here because generally we do like buffets, because I am very picky and it is hard for me to just choose one thing. The food selection is great, they have everything from steak, to pasta salad, to Chinese food, and a great selection of desserts. The seating is very sparse, and there isn’t enough for the amount of people they receive on a daily/nightly basis. The customer service is awful. We went almost an entire MEAL without having our drinks re-filled, fresh napkins, or without silverware. Two times we’ve gone and they didn’t have any ice, so we had to drink warm tea and soda. The food is sub-par. It isn’t the worst food in the world, but absolutely is not the best food in the world. The steak was very dry, the potatoes were not cooked thoroughly and therefore were very stale and hard to bite into. The macaroni and cheese had to be stirred because some of it had turned a brownish color. The fajita meat and fresh tortillas were good, and the salad bar had a wonderful selection, but the ranch dressing was very runny and ended up all over my plate and the floor. The price is decent for such a large selection of food, and we usually walk out spending about 25 $, including drinks. Overall, I’d recommend for those who aren’t very picky, but if you want GREAT tasting food and GREAT customer service, THISISNOTTHEPLACEFORYOU.

The Firepit Buffet and Grill offers a great variety of foods, ranging from Mexican, Chinese, and BBQ. They also have a great selection of cold salads including humus. The dessert bar is lacking in variety and selection, you cannot get your own soft serve ice cream, an employee scoops you Blue Bell. The restaurant has been busy the 3 visits I made. One time waited approximately 15 min to pay and get a plate for food. A host seats you compared to other buffet places like Golden Corral and Home Town Buffet. You also get your drink as you pay and carry that to your table, different from the other buffet places. The only complaint I have is that the buffet line is narrow and find yourself bumping into other patrons, I wish they could have moved the buffet lines further apart. It gets really crowded Sunday afternoons. Price is reasonable and the quality of the food is good for a buffet restaurant. As long as those two areas are consistent, I can see this place staying around for a while.

We had a late lunch June 11, 2011 at 2:45 pm. With exception to the cashier that did not say hello, or even smile as she took our money;she looked at me like a deer in the headlights when I said«hello, how are you doing today», the food was pretty good. My wife excused the cashier’s actions because she was a teenager and had not yet learned to interact with adults. Other than that, the servers were nice, and the ice cream delicious. We will be back.

We went for lunch on a Sunday, usually a super busy time for buffets with the church crowd and all. It didn’t take long after our arrival for all the tables to be filled. Even with the crowd the food was kept refilled with fresh offerings. I ended up getting our drinks but what do you expect in a buffet trying to serve 200 people at one time. My favorites: the fried chicken, grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, salad bar was excellant, carving station with ham, roast beef, etc. The verde enchiladas were as good as I’ve ever had and I’m one picky you know what. There were PLENTY of choices and as I said all were replenished multiple times while we ate. The only disappointment was the dessert station. Everything we tried was dried out as if it had been sitting there a while. Not a big deal to us as we were STUFFED which is why I think they had been sitting there so long, everyone was full of good food.

Me and the family had been waiting for this new buffet place to open since there isn’t one in the area, so finally it is open and we went I was very excited. Now this use to be an old Lubby’s so I was a little worried but when we got inside I was like OK this is going to be great, as you wait in line you can see the food and it looks great, the line wasn’t to long of a wait so we get our seat and head to the buffet. Everything looked good and smelled great the way they have the buffet bars set up is a little confusing it is like someone left the gate open and the horses have run wiled there is no organization of lines people are just all over the place kids running here and there you will bump and get bumped trying to get your food just no order at all. So we all sit down to eat our food my husband was not impressed at all the food is way to salty so if you have high blood pressure make sure you take your meds seriously. The dessert bar was horrible no wide selection at all i can get cookies from the store if i wanted them, the crab cakes to soggy and you could tell they had been cooked from frozen. I can say that the wait staff was great will i go back don’t think so where are the real buffets at in Texas
