I have purchased eyewear from Vista Optical twice now, although from a different branch. This review is not so much about service as it is about the quality of their product. They promote their anti glare lenses which is a cheap product they coat the lense with which CONVENIENTLY scratches and blotches eventually to the point that when you are looking through your lense it is all hazy. I always clean my lenses with nothing but a soft eyeglass cloth. I say conveniently because by the time two years has gone by, AND you can then get a new prescription filled is about the time their lenses are so bad you can hardly see through them. I purchased both of my children’s lenses from a independent optical store and the quality of their lenses is far superior. Their anti glare is actually imbedded in the lense. I have called Vista Optical about this matter and have been told to call back when the manager is there. I don’t expect that they will do anything because they also try to sell you some kind of eyewear protection, so unless you choose to do that you are basically SOL. I will add that my children’s lenses are automatically covered. I will be buying all my familys eyewear from the independent store from now on.

Nice little place. Dr. Bernard was really kind and helpful in finding the right contacts form me. He seemed to really care. I would recommend him to my friends and family based on my experience. I’ll be back next year.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bernard Conway for about 15 years. It’s easy to see he really loves his job and he should because he is really good at it! I have a difficult prescription with an astigmatism and a strong prescription, but he is always eager to offer me the newest most comfortable contacts or work to make my daily eye wear more comfortable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great eye doctor. That said — his support staff is generally lacking. I have had multiple negative experiences with the optical assistants. Stuff as small as not telling me the right time to come in and as big as ordering me the wrong lenses and arguing with me that the reason they were thicker was that my prescription had increased by 0.25. I believed her and suffered with thick glasses for almost two years when I went in for my next appointment and the new assistant told me there were better options and I had gotten the less expensive, thicker lenses. Because prescription is so high and it has been since before I could read, I always ask for the thinnest option available! Anyways — Dr. Conway is great — his support staff tends to be less great, although generally friendly. I go for my exam and get my eyeglasses elsewhere.

This has changed names several times. It’s in the Fred Meyer. The optometrist, Dr. Bernard Conway, has been there 20 years. I’ve gone there a few times but always saw his part time optometrist. This time I got to see Dr. Conway and he is awesome! I’m giving the 5 stars for him. The eyeglass selection is OK but I’m really picky and didn’t order any from them but if you want to see a really good optometrist go see him. They billed my insurance so I’m not sure how much it was.
