I was kind of disappointed that they don’t serve kimbap anymore. That’s the only reason I thought I swung by and try it. It wasn’t that big of a deal. I ordered the spicy pork bibimbap and Katsu to go. The old korean lady here is super nice. Definitely satisfied my craving for korean food. It was so good! She cooked everything fresh so it took about 15 mins. Worth the wait.

Living in the Portland area, there are definitely no lack of restaurants– especially diverse ones, so I have created a criteria for trying out new places: 1) preferably ma &pa places 2) locally owned 3) out of the norm So Sunrise hits all the criteria. We finally checked this place out.(Being we live about 3 blocks from it, it was about time!) It’s secretly hidden in a driving range/mini golf course place. Which by the way, before I forget, we learned that mini golf is only $ 4! Okay, back to the food. A few Unilocalers recommended the bibim bap, I have no idea what it was, but the lady gave me the list of ingredients: veggies, rice, meat and an egg. Oh, and the Korean sauce is home made– sold! The hubby had a black angus burger. Both items and 2 sodas came out a little over $ 15. Not bad considering a trip to a fast food place would be the same if not more. I tried a few bites of his burger– not too bad– actually it was pretty darn tasty! The bibim bap was a big bowl of various veggies, some kind of meat(forgot to ask what it was) rice and the home made sauce — damn it was good– and filling! We’re already planning another visit this week for more awesome food, a 6-bottle bucket of micro for $ 12 and $ 4 miniature golf. Sounds like a pretty fun and inexpensive weekend day! Yes, I’d definitely recommend this place!

«Are you sure?» My lunch date says dubiously as I drag them into the golf center. Yes, I read it on Unilocal. What a total find. What a bizarre place. I love finds. I love bizarre. Inside the building there are pool tables, tv, dart boards, video games, foozball table, a counter where you can buy buckets of balls to swing at out back… we observed a guy with two buckets and two beers. Guess thats his idea of lunch. Our idea of lunch? Well, at the café counter in back, theres a lovely Asian couple serving up Korean food(0h theres burgers too, of course, but dont do that, I’m sure its all good but KOREANFOOD!!) Two men were eating big bowls of spicy something, hunched down with chopsticks… it.smelled. good. That swayed lunch companion. I got chicken bibimbap, they got pork bibimbap. When I asked what kind of meat was in it he gave a long description of what is in it which was ok but not necessary. I do like having a meat choice as some places will only do beef in their bibimbap. The bibimbap was yummy! Like my Korean auntie made it. Oh ok I dont have one of those(I wish!). Yummy veggies, rice, egg(dining companion wished it was runnier), Siracha, tasty meat(small amount. More of a condiment). I enjoyed it. My only wish was a tiny bit less siracha. Itd be nice if you could add that yourself to adjust the heat. But. Seriously good. And reasonable. And happily odd. Oh! And clean! And the couple was very nice to us. Totally doing that again.

It’s a small café in a golf range. They make everything from rolls to korean food to hamburgers. The Korean food is great although selection is small but it’s the best around. The owners are so nice. Please eat here the price is decent and their cooking is so good. I am from LA. CA and I know korean food their is the best.
