Suburban Ace Hardware

I go to this hardware store several times a year because it’s close to me and I’ve never had an issue– until today. I had my dog with me and I had her potty before entering the store and realized I had zero poop bags left. I entered the store and as I was browsing this employee comes up to me looking very intense and asks me if I need help (not sincerely at all) and when I said yes and asked my question and needed a suggestion he just motioned toward the wall of products without really helping me… His endgame you might ask !? To reprimand me for not picking up dog poop outside which I was going to ask for a plastic bag on the way out btw to do just that and the area it was in is a weedy trash strewn area which the store doesn’t even keep up. I won’t be back.

Came here yesterday to have a piece of glass 12.5“x12.5″ cut. The gentlemen working there cut a piece for me. I brought it home and apparently it was cut roughly 12.5“x14″. I came back today for recut. Met the same gentlemen and he apologized for the mistake and he recut it for me. I confirmed with him that I shouldn’t need to pay for it. He said «no, you should not». Another gentlemen (seems to be a boss) said «you not need to pay if you’ve brought the old piece back to prove it was a mistake». I thought to myself «are you kidding me? You guys wasted my time for making additional trip here», but disappointed with their business decision.
I shop here a lot because of their superior customer service and convenient location. This incident tells me to try other Ace stores or Orchards Hardware. Or if I ever comeback to this store (distance convenient) I will try to avoid the «boss». Darn it.

Super friendly and knowledgeable that helped ed with recommendations on painting my interior trim.

If i need something and want to avoid going out to home depot, i go here. If i need advice or have questions, i come here. Everyone that works here are always working and always has the right answer. Came in one time, needed a nut for a random screw. Guy was able to look at it and tells me the size of the screw and the nut size without testing, amazing. Prices arent great but what do you expect. Mom and pop type of shop.

Helpful staff, friendly, and whenever they notice me wandering around, they ask me if they can help me find something. This is my local hardware store a few blocks from home, so we go there more often than Home Depot/Lowe’s. Very good selection of union and American made items, so that’s always a plus in my book. Ace is the place! By the way, parking is manageable during off hours– they do share the lot with a Mexican store and other businesses, so best bet for parking is on Alexander St off of 185^th as long as you don’t mind walking 100 yards.

I was out doing a repair on a scooter and needed some bolts and they just happen to be closing as we popped into the store and the entire staff helped us find what we needed. They were extremely professional and courteous even though we kept them a couple minutes past closing. Thank you everyone at the store, I appreciate your amazing service.

I bought all of one type of paint they had in stock, but I needed four more gallons for a major painting effort over the weekend. Michelle went and picked up the paint I needed and had it ready for me later in the day. Thank you!

I have lived in their neighborhood for almost 5 years now. If I have a question, if I need a fitting, or I need something quick, this is a great spot. Prompt service without having to search up and down long aisles for someone.

Great experience today. They had everything I was looking for. As as usual the floor staff were exceptionally helpful. The bonus today– the check out staff was pleasant, helpful and friendly. :-)

Purchased burner covers that looked like they fit but when cooking realized that the coils did not nest correctly and the oil in the pan pooled to only one side. When I tried to take them back they refused because I did not have the cardboard piece that they came with despite the fact that I had the receipt and it was 7 days after initial purchase.
Also, they never remind me about using my ACE reward card.
I contacted the national company and they offered me an appeasement gift card which definitely appeased me of ACE but not of ever using the Suburban ACE store ever again. Too many other hardware stores to choose from. Sad that a store can’t eat $ 13 to save a customer when they are able to right off losses but a consumer cannot.

This is just my experience from one visit. They had what I wanted — yeah. But what bugged me is, when I came in there were several customers in the store, and I’m standing there looking down the aisles to try to find what I want, and between me and the cash-​register are two guys in red Ace Hardware shirts talking with each other. A female cashier behind the register has to stretch to look around them and ask me what I’m looking for, and I answer and she tells me. I get the thing and line up to wait for one of the 2 cashiers along with several other people, and still these two guys are standing there jawboning about who knows what. Not a long wait really but two employees ignoring the several customers in the store just rubbed me the wrong way, is all.

If you order from ACE Hardware on line with a discount, this store is vey unhappy about it. They are not customer service friendly. They do not like that you have taken advantage of a discount, they want your money at full retail. I ordered product, got a phone call that it was in their store for pick up and the owner «DAN» was so rude and so unfriendly, he decided to send the products back to ACE Hardware for his answer. So if you use a discount be aware this store doesn’t want to service you.

I not very concerned about parking issues or checkout smiles.
staff is generally knowledgeable & efficient and almost always
have what I’m looking for when Lowes and Home Depot do not.
They not only have it but they have multiple choices.

What do you do when your dog decides to make himself a dog door out of your screen door?
Take the whole thing to Ace of course.
The staff was able to re screen the entire thing (they don’t do patch repairs) and for a reasonable price. Also it only took about 3 days.
I had difficulty actually getting into the parking lot as the store is situated on a busy corner with no left hand turn.
I would recommend this service to anyone who needs a screen door fixed.

You can always count on this Ace to have what you need, and the guys working there are never stumped. I went looking for work gloves and was astonished to find almost two dozen choices. Awesome place.

I stopped by with some screens that needed repaired. Rick said he would try to get them done before he had to unload trucks and he did indeed get them done. When I returned I had plenty of help picking out a hose and a employee brought me a tissue for my grandsons nose without me even having to ask. I had too many things to carry and without hesitation my items were carried to my car. This is a neighborhood hardware store with friendly helpful staff?

This was my «go-​to» hardware store before another Ace opened up literally walking distance from my house.
This place can feel full since they have a ton of stuff packed into the space. That being said the employees roaming around know a ton and are great. the cachiers always seem a little bored, but never rude.
Overall they have what I need 99% of the time.

I have to say I nearly cry every time I come here. It means my husband has sent me on an errand of which I have no freaking idea what to get. I wander around for 20 minutes trying to find what I need. Does anyone offer to help me, that would be a negative ghost rider,
They absolutely ignore your ass (maybe the look on my face is why), no idea.
The cashiers could give a SHIT if you found what you needed and it shows, the gal today barely looked at me when she rang my shit up. No thank you, kiss my ass or anything.
I miss the days when I had a wonderful True Value Hardware store right up the street, before storefront rents skyrocketed in my area, those people did it right!
p. s. their parking lot is a nightmare to get in and out of.

I love Ace Hardware. They always have better stuff than any of the big box places that… well, I just don’t always find what I want at.
This place has everything and far more than you would ever need. Easy to get to off 185^th, parking in front and side, easy to get in and out.
I took my puppy in for socialization… and they loved him.

It’s an Ace hardware, which means it will always have that item you’re looking for that you won’t find in a Big Box hardware store. Getting into the parking lot is a bit dicey because of being on NW185h next to T.V. highway, just like the first review mentioned.
I found a bucket boss and bucket seat that I was looking for. Long story that I don’t want to go into of why I was looking for it but lets say this is the only place I found in the area that had them.
The painting supplies section is pretty good. Everything you’ll need for any type of painting project you’re going to do.
