I’d first like to revise my rating to 3.7: Comfortably Exceeds Mediocrity. It’s a fairly nice place, sequestered on a very friendly, adorable street which I had not visited before. I walked in and did not have to wait at all to be served. John, I’m assuming is his name, was already cutting an older gentleman’s hair, but his colleague was free and seemed happy to help. Forgive me for forgetting her name. She seemed very nice and talkative. I don’t usually like it when hair-cutters talk too much, and she did. She even talked about how she didn’t like gossip. Then she teetered very close to gossiping about people at her former workplace. I understand it’s nice to be polite and friendly, but you can do that quietly. I just like to get my hair cut and leave. Then again, I’m picky and she was nice. She said she loved cutting curly hair, which made me feel good. She asked me how I wanted my hair and even showed me a couple pictures when she used phrases I did not understand. The cut looked very nice at first. A couple days after the cut, some parts seemed to be uneven or strangely cut, but I’m still mostly happy with my experience. The one thing I really liked was that when the guy(John) was done with his client, he started playing piano in the back. I am a fan of piano music even if the player isn’t a professional. It was nice to have some live music in the background. You can try this place out to see if you like it, but I’ll probably check out another one before I return. They do not shave beards, but they trim them.

I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon without an appointment. John was just finishing up with a customer so the wait was maybe five minutes tops. He did a great job with my simple needs and kept up a conversation. The cost was very reasonable and I look forward to making appointments in the future!

John has been cutting my hair for over 10 years. He always greets me by name when I come through the door. He recommends you call and make an appointment, but many times, I have just stopped by and the wait has never been more than 15 minutes. The shop is a little cluttered, but has that«small town barbershop» feel
