The home owners association here are horrible people! I don’t want to get into details, but I wish every day that we hadn’t bought a condo here.

BOOO! I currently own a condo here that I have rented out for over a year, There were several noise complaints on that tenant(Which I WASNT informed about) They charged me $ 100 per complaint as well as a $ 5.00 a day charge that they are still adding to my bill because I refuse to pay it. If you have a choice DONOT move here. Some of the condos are nice, I will admit that but the HOA gets way too involved in the day to day on the grounds. The laundry is over priced, The pool is almost never open and when it is its hardly ever cleaned… Not a good experience…

I should’ve known by the incompetent«agent» that took over an hour and a half to get to the property after I’d arrived because the keys didn’t work and their weird patchwork with the locks(that are older than my baby shoes) that I shouldn’t live here. Lesson learned, big time. You really do get what you pay for(and I found this horrid roommate situation on CL — buyer beware). She couldn’t open the door with her set of keys, either. Then she called around looking for a locksmith. This place is by far the 2nd worst place I’ve lived in during my(almost) three years in Portland. The management company(CMI) is rude and even though they call these condos, they are basically very poorly insulated apartments. They rent them out and only offer one reserved parking spot per«condo», forcing you to hunt for the few unnumbered parking spots. Each of the«condos» have a high person to bedroom ratio & multiple cars(and some are apparently not drivable). Hence their«don’t park your car in the same spot for more than a few days or we will give you a towing notice, then tow your car» policy. Yes, I am serious. During my stay here I’ve had to deal with attitude and a line of questioning/interrogation by this old crabby lady who kept repeating how I wasn’t the«owner» AFTER I repeatedly told her(and others) that I was a roommate, PAYINGRENT, therefore, a resident. Even my roommate is not the«owner» because she is renting this place. When I asked for the code to get in to the laundry facility(since they decided to change the lock for a security pad — because that’s what makes it safe around here — and not tell people about it), I was told that they couldn’t give out that information for«safety reasons». Then she kept asking me the same questions over and over again, and said she’d email me with the code the next day. I never heard from her again. This place is definitely shady. Management rarely answers the phone during business hours(you have to call and leave a voice mail and good luck if they call you back within a couple of days, if at all), and they obviously don’t notate who does and does not live here. The washers here are total garbage and don’t get your clothes clean, yet they charge you $ 1.50 per load. Then you have to pay a quarter per 10 min. of drying(with the last 3 mins spent on fluffing/no heat). I decided on the lesser of the two evils to go to the laundromat down the street — they actually get your clothes clean and you can fit more stuff in their washers. Oh, the poor insulation. I can hear the people downstairs talking, their baby crying all the time, the parents screaming at the kid(s), and then I get the pleasure of listening to the dude snoring ALL night. Did I mention they’re below me? Then on special occasions, I get to listen to Latino music, or when they pull their car up to the front of the building, I get a bit more variety, with the bass thumping and the volume turned up all the way. Hey, free dance party! When I walk outside there are at least 10 flies waiting for me on the staircase at all times. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that they have recycling bins. I doubt you’d want to live here, but if you are considering it, please don’t. I only did this to save money(and I’ve regretted it ever since), but you can find something in a decent part of town(and neighborhood) for the same price. Even if you have to live with more than one roommate, it’ll be worth it. Trust me. I’m so glad I’m leaving tomorrow. It’s going to be the happiest moment of my life(so far)!
