Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center

This review specifically pertains to the infant/​toddler classes offered at this THPRD facility. Point blank… they are horrible.
Unfortunately all 3 classes we’ve tried at Conestoga have been a big let down. In both the baby swim lessons and the baby art classes we have had teachers that don’t smile, have zero affect and little to no social skills. The swim teacher seemed annoyed to be there and so quiet we couldn’t even hear her is such a ridiculously large, overcrowded class. The «Creating Together» art class was a joke. I can have my daughter color with crayons are our dining table. I expected more here. The very young teacher (high schooler) was unprepared, had not even begun to set up by class start time, realized half way through the class that she didn’t have the supplies needed to finish the project. (If she had prepared at all before class she would have realized this.) She was also painfully unaware of age-​appropriate activities for this age. She honestly thought that painting a 4“x 4″ inch piece of paper would take up a 45 min class?! She was at a loss when the kids blew through it in 5 min.
So disappointing.
We have taken infant/​toddler swim lessons and art/​music classes here at Conestoga as well as Harmon and the center off 158^th & Walker (not sure the name of that one).
The classes at the other centers have all been fun & engaging with energetic, friendly staff. Don’t waste your time or money at Conestoga.

A beautiful facility with a monstrous pool, basketball courts, supervised day care, weight room and cardio room. Managed by competent staff and helpful supervision. If you live within the municipal region of influence that supports this facility by taxes, your rates are very low — more than reasonable to tell the truth. Outside that zone, prices are a bit steep, but still affordable.
Hours of Operation:
Monday-​Thursday: 5:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Friday: 5:30 a.m.- 8:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
One of the only disadvantages other than the out of the District fees is that daycare is limited to Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. — 12:00 p. m, and there is a fee. Minimal at $ 3.50 an hour, however.
If you are within the District and can get there at an hour that is non-​rush (which is much of the time), this is a beautiful and well accommodated facility.

We’ve just discovered this in our neighborhood and decided to check it out. The staff were very helpful in getting us the info about getting our cards as well as all the classes for kids! They even have a great playground outside and plenty of parking. Great hours, clean facility and tons to choose from!

It has always been well maintained after all this years. They have a cycle room, aquatic center, courts that can be either turned into basketball or volleyball depending on what night (call ahead).
The only catch is their measly parking lot spaces. It can be a tad difficult to get into as it is no where near the main thoroughfare but once you see a series of buildings, it is not the Southridge HS. ;)

I have been coming here to work out in the weight and exercise room for a couple months.
They have a drop-​in fee of $ 4.50 so it was easy for me to start coming without making a big commitment. The weight room isn’t huge, but it has everything I need and the equipment is new and well maintained. After a couple times, I started buying the monthly passes for $ 29. You can even get a discount if you buy multiple months at a time.
It’s never really crowded even at 5pm and the hours are generally good, although they could be open later on the weekends. They are open til 9 on weekdays and 6 on weekends.
I was there last night and there were a bunch of teenage kids roaming around and using the machines. That, I didn’t appreciate so much, but they weren’t terrible and this is the only time I’ve ever experienced this.
The three outside walls are made entirely of windows, so it feels really airy and it’s easy to park and to get in so it’s a really easy experience.

Took my 3 year old grandson swimming. We have not brought him here before as he takes swim classes elsewhere. We had a blast. Grandpa, grandma and little man. They have 2 pools. One is Olympic size and is cold. I don’t think they let you in that one unless you can swim the length of the pool. Then they have the «leisure pool» The depth at its highest is I think 3 feet 6 inches and the water is much warmer. They also have a nice slide that the kids can go down by themselves or with an adult. Our grandson loved it! So did grandpa and grandma. We wore him out. Later in the day he took a 3 hour nap! We will definitely be coming back! Good family fun.

Solid gym equipment, gyms, pools and rec center. Reasonable fees for a monthly pass or $ 4 for in-​district drop in fees for the pool/​gym.
Approx $ 9 drop in for a class.
Most classes here are approximately 8 weeks and range from $ 30-​$ 75 depending on frequency and type of class.
I’m currently taking two classes here (cycling and cardio kickboxing) and the instructors /​staff I have encountered have been very friendly and extremely supportive of my new-​found health goals!
This is definitely a place that is worth your time.

A very serious situation occurred at the Tualatin Hills Conestoga Swim Center and their facility. To file a complaint there is a chain of command you must go through and those in command whom I have spoken with seem too busy to care about the severity and what could have happened, as well as what should have happened.
Absolutely horrible customer service and community care, with lack of professionalism and courtesy regarding a very serious situation that should not have happened. I would be very cautious.

My son really likes the Club Splash after school program. They pick up from the local elementary school and take him right to the THPRD center. I really like that since it takes a major headache completely out of my hands since I am working.
He gets to swim a few days per week and they even finished teaching him how to swim since at the end of this last summer he was still a little weak.
If you also sign up for a class (karate for example) in the center they will walk the kids in the class over to the class and then bring them back at the end. Tis is great since they have lots of good extras that kids can get.
All this for a VERY good rate. In the end this place is a clear winner for our house.
