So this place is trying to be a swanky bar and the interior is awesome. But if this place was in Portland it wouldn’t last. The drink was adequate and the service as well. Decent but wasn’t anything special. Mac and cheese-bland. Caesar salad was mayo-ish. Shrimp covered bacon had jalapeños which were too hot. This place has work to do. Overall average. We will go to Broadway next door and skip this place in the future.

This was our second time at Bootleggers. Our first time was late autumn last year, which went well for the most part. Décor: Great atmosphere for a small whiskey bar in this area. Small but comfortable is how I would describe it. Low lighting but not as dark as a movie theater. Nice accents to create a mood. Just a really«chill» place for some food and drink with friend(s). Drink: Good selection of whiskey. A few taps of interesting beers but that’s not why we arrived. Whiskey is the major attraction here. I had the Lagavulin 12, followed by a Pendleton on the rocks. They get bonus points for the whiskey on rocks having a single large spherical ice cube rather than small cubes. Their mixed drinks are stiff and tasty. Food: Our first time here was off and on in this respect. The crab-stuffed tomatoes were wonderful. They have since taken them off the menu. This time we ordered the chili, charcuterie plate, and crab cakes. All three were quite good. The crab cakes were very tender and tasty. The chili bowl was flavorful and a very decent portion size. We both like meat and cheese, so the charcuterie plate was great. Service: The first time wasn’t as busy, so the bartender/waitress was very attentive. This time our(different) bartender/waitress was busier. So service was not as on the spot. It wasn’t bad but it felt more distracted. Overall: Great place for some small plates and a couple rounds. Bring back the crab stuffed tomatoes!

Phenomenal whisky and whisky based cocktail selection. Food was very good. Atmosphere was very comfortable. It’s a shame I just discovered this place after being open for 2 years. Try their«Oregon Buck» or «Blood Orange Bourbon» you won’t be disappointed. Plus, a local west side low key place where you can get Pappy Van Winkle 12 or 18 yr. AND the 23 when available!

I’m glad this awesome establishment is in Beaverton so whenever I want some good whiskey I don’t need to go to Portland. I love their blood orange bourbon and HH menu.

This place is fun… it is kinda like a Bit House Saloon(in Portland Proper) or a version of «Jefferson Spirits» out of Medford, Or… but this is slightly more watered down-Beaverton-Suburb version. Considering that is downtown-old town Beaverton this place is AMAZING. Their drinks are really fun, and well executed. The only negative thing that I will say about it, and it really isn’t that bad. But, this seems to appeal to the«over 50» crowd. As I’m writing this review, I’ve only been there twice, once on a Saturday evening-prime time around 8pm or so. And, the other time a Thursday evening around 7pm. And, both times, my husband and I observed the older crowd. And, when we were there on a Thursday, it was funny because the bar cleared out at 8pm on the dot! Everyone left, ‘cept for our party-of-four. It was cute, cuz it was like bed time, or maybe Jeopardy was on? I don’t know. But, regardless if you are looking for a more hip, trendy bar scene this is probably not the place for you, and Unilocal might want to put one of those page-badge stamps for this business that says«people in their 50’s tend to like this spot» just to help with the expectations.

Great drinks, but the food needs some work. If they put as much time and energy into the food as they do the drinks this would be an amazing place.

Cute space, and the waitress was super sweet! Drinks are SO good. I had the Orange Bourbon and it was very yummy. Only negative is the food was not good! Had the Gouda Mac and Cheese and it bad. Crunchy, dry noodles, no cheese– zero flavor. Brie was okay… But overpowered by the Kahlua.

The food was barely average, and a little spendy. We weren’t overly impressed with the drinks. What really turned us off, though, was the flies coming in through the open door. We were there on a cold, rainy October day. it was a real let down because we had been so hopeful for it, but as we left, we regretted not going to the Broadway Saloon instead.

Went here for happy hour a couple weeks ago. They have a great selection of whiskey and a decent happy hour menu.(Although, I wish Old fashion’s were on their happy hour list.) But, the drinks they had were good. The waitress was also the bar tender and she seemed pretty knowledgeable. If you told her the type of drink you normally like she can bring you something new to try that you’ll probably enjoy as well. We had some food while we were there and the food was good. I had the sliders and my BF had some sort of pasta. The bar has an old timey feel, which is cool.

Top shelf whiskey bar, they do have their own vodka infused bottles. Great quiet place to drink. Bar is simple and nice, no TVs, Comfy couches. As for the food, I had the oyster shooters they where wonderful. But then I had the Mac and cheese, not good. You could tell they cooked a big tin and just scooped it out of it… Not made to order. Menu had other items and BBQ items. I love whiskey so I will be back.

Drinks are great. Blood orange bourbon is my favorite. Food is hit or miss. Deviled eggs and Mac-n-cheese are yummy.

Unexpectedly delightful discovery in Downtown Beaverton. Expansive cocktails menu — I had the mulled cider with Basil Hayden bourbon, and my companion had the blood orange bourbon. The atmosphere is intimate and warm, the bartender was very friendly and helpful, and the smoked Gouda macaroni and cheese off their nice happy hour menu was yummy. We will be back to try their dinner menu as soon as possible.

There are 2 things this bar is good for therefore 2 stars. The drinks were decent, the blood orange whiskey fantastic! I dont even like whiskey and it was good and the atmosphere. Comfy couches & chairs by the windows were nice. The food is an entirely different story however! We ordered a 4 items and sent 2 of them back. We should have sent the other 2 back but felt bad so we attempted to eat them. Here goes… spiced nuts… pretty basic & hard to screw up yet rather than being crunchy and fresh they were soft and tasted stale. Next… jalapeño poppers… again rather hard to screw up yet they were hard almost raw and the cheese was thin and runny. No flavor. Bacon wrapped shrimp… bacon was near raw, limp and shrimp zero flavor, lastly oyster pancetta… so bad my friend actually spit her bite out in a napkin! It was beyond bad more like horrendous! My friend had been here right after they opened and said the food was great and the chef interacted with them. This was far from our experience… they seemed offended that we didnt like the food and didnt offer to change it out or even remove it from our tab. I cant speak for the rest of the menu but from our sampling it was not encouraging to say the least. Very sad but good friends and decent drinks made it a good time even though we left hungry and disappointed.

Drinks were AWESOME! BUTYOUNEEDTOBEQUITE!!! Apparently this is the only bar that people are not allowed to have fun, laugh out of loud and being loud! Apparently this is the only bar in the whole entire world where you need to watch what you are saying to your friends while you are drinking and having fun! We were 5 of us went here last night just drinking and having a great time! We were talking and laughing and having a great time when one of the bartender approached us and said to us «Can you guys keep it a bit down, specially a comment about lesbian, some people are a bit sensitive» we were like huh??? But we kept it down a bit stayed for one more drink then we left! DAMN! When we go out with our friends to go to the bar what are we supposed to do? Keep it quite for people who are drinking??? Why don’t you have a sign at the door saying«Please come in and have drinks but please be quite and watch what you are saying» This is Oregon! People allowed to say whatever they want to say to their friends while going out drinking! Never in my life I went to a bar and I lived inNYC, San Fran, San Diego, LA, Waikiki, and other big cities and went to a bar, never a bartender approached my table and my friends to tell us to be quite, IT’S A BAR!!! That killed the fun! So we left!!!

This place was set up very beautifully, the tall tables were big wooden barrels, leather sofas at the short tables, dim but romantic lighting, and a gorgeously crafted bar. I asked what was good for food and was told they are famous for their meat balls, which was about the only thing meal wise that wasn’t gluten centered. I ordered the lamb meatballs with a miso ginger sauce and jasmine rice. I wasn’t very blown away with the meatballs, the sauce and the rice wasn’t bad. I gave up one meatball in and ordered appetizers. The stuffed mushrooms and baked Brie were delicious. I also ordered a blackberry bramble which was pretty good. I realize this is a whiskey bar but my drink to follow was not whiskey(a dirty Shirley) but she made it well. Even though she didn’t know what a dirty Shirley was, that was a first! Overall, I’d return for drinks and appetizers. If you are starved, try next door.

I’m very find of Bootleggers. They bring Portland to Beaverton. The atmosphere is well cultivated and pleasant, the food is quite tasty, and while there may be whiskey bars with bigger whiskey menus, their offering is good and pretty thorough. They also have an interesting selection of cocktails on menu. If you do brunch on Sunday, get the prosciutto egg Benedict, it’s delicious.

Chill, laidback whiskey bar in central beav. I’ve gone twice already and I love it. It’s got a little bit of a 1920’s flapper vibe going on and I’m totally here for it. What I love most about this bar, is that the hipsters haven’t discovered it yet. Last time I went, there was only one other couple being waited on… Perfect. My kind of joint. I’m entering my late 20’s, so the whole club/crowded bar thing is just not cute anymore. Vaguely remember what I drank, but I do recall ordering this specialty drink that had raw egg in it, my god it was good. They also make a pretty nice dark and stormy, so definitely try that as well. Anyway, I love it; I’m sold. We’ll be back later this month!

Went here for a suuuuuper late birthday dinner/drinks and definitely wasn’t disappointed. The set up and atmosphere of Bootleggers was really cute, I liked it a lot — I especially liked the tables that were made from barrels. There were a lot of whiskey and drink choices, which I appreciated, and mixed drinks with the whiskey, which was also appreciated, because I knew that I could actually enjoy trying different whiskeys. I got the Blackberry Bramble and it was DELICIOUS. My mom got the sidecar and she sucked down two before we even got our food. My moms friend got the French 75 and loved hers as well. The only things that were kind of a bummer was the food choices — don’t get me wrong, the food that we ordered was really good, but there were not a lot of pickings on the menu to choose from. I got the Caesar Salad, which was really good, we also got the potstickers, and another plate that I can’t remember the name, but it was like fruit, cheese, meats, and bread. All the food was delicious! The other thing that is a bummer is not being able to see the sign to the store front. I know parking is out of the hands of the company, so no problem, but I had to go up and down Broadway about 4 times before I actually saw the Bootleggers sign — truly not that big of a deal, just a passing thought.
