Owner is total genius, to get an affordable restaurant into a high rent district. You pile all the food into a bowl like a buffet, and the food you can’t eat go’s home in a take-out container, providing you with 2 meals. Popular at lunchtime, since the price is $ 3 cheaper per meal. The National Guards have a long line going in at this time, so get there early for lunch. They also serve rice and wrap bread after you get your food. Waitress’s are really hot, they wear T-shirts that say, ‘Do it on a grill’. Sounds painful, but I’m game if they are.

Had never been here before and it was really good, and the waiters were friendly and helpful!

It’s expensive… lunch for 3 with soft drinks was $ 55 before tip. Everything was extra… why is brown rice extra? It was fun creating our own dishes, and fun to watch cook. And our server was very good and checked back with us often. And while it’s not bad, it didn’t knock my socks off either. And there was food all over the floor which was gross. Also gross was the fried Oreo’s. The highlight was it made my teenagers happy, and that’s priceless.

Food was good of course because we chose it. Good service at the grill, mediocre service at the table. Awful country music blaring the entire time. Will not be back unless they change their music selections. Do not like country music it reminds me of Confederate flags and sounds dreadful.

Great place! I went for lunch with my partner and it was about 20 $ for two generous as hell portions of fresh ingredients. You can customize your food to any preference, vegan to gluten free to paleo. I did a pork stir fry with a bacon sauce and lettuce wraps. It was fantastic. I will deffinately visit again!

I had been here a few years ago and it was great! Went back recently and the quality seems to have dropped. Food was still good, and the staff is great, but the food bars(where you choose your foods for the barbecue) seemed to be in a bit of disarray. Looked sloppy. Could be because of the volume of customers, but it didn’t really seem all that crowded. Food was great once cooked, though, and I like that you can go through and customize your own dinner. Good choice for a casual dinner.

I love Mongolian BBQ but unfortunately I was very unimpressed. :(Some of my noodles were clumped together and not warm and others were so crispy and tasted burnt. I’m sad. I was really looking forward to dinner here. My husband said it was«ok», my daughter(13) felt hers was amazing and my son(10) said he liked it. The salad I made with just cheese, bacon, and ranch with croutons was DELISH. If it weren’t for the salad I honestly would have rated it a 2. Our waitress Brittany was great!!!

Mongolian BBQ! If you are in the mood for creating your own stir-fry dishes, this is the place. If you have never had Mongolian, the staff is friendly here, they will guide you through the process. When you enter, you will get seated, place your order for your rice type, fried, white or brown, order your drinks, then the waiter/waitress will bring your bowl for the main event! Head to the meat/veggie station and then finish off at the sauce creation station. There is a guide to create the type of sauce you want, right at the sauce station. Here they dont want you to mix the sauce into your creation. The cook wants you to put the sauce in the little black bowls at the sauce station. If you dont do this, the cook will promptly remind you to do so. If you choose the buffet, you can go back for refills until you cant eat anymore. Save room for dessert, if you can. There is a decent selection to chose from. There is a bar, you can order alcoholic drinks or beer too.

I love ANY kind of Mongolian BBQ… from small ma-n-pa places to chains like BD’s…and they’ve all been pretty good. BD’s is amongst the best, simply due to their variety of veggies, meats, and sauces. It was great having the ability to order a beer with my dinner, and even sit at the bar and watch TV whilst I enjoyed two bowls. I do have some concerns, and that is, how about LARGER bowls, or at least after I commit to the second bowl, allowing me to take up two bowls with me? Also, consider having less viscous sauces… like more soy based sauces that are less thick. I think the thinner sauces steam up better and add flavor, whereas the thicker sauces(think ‘thick BBQ’ sauce), just gum things up. Finally, how about some pepper oil as a post-cooking flavor additive? I used the sesame seeds, but a hot pepper oil would be terrific. Keep up the great work, but see if you can address the bowl size, the sauce thickness, and the new condiment(pepper oil). Thanks!

BD Grill is pretty good. It’s an average Mongolian grill located at The Greene. It was pretty packed on a Sunday at 1pm, and it was still pretty packed after we left. It’s a popular spot I suppose. The concept is pretty easy, you put what you want into a bowl and they have people cooking it for you. There is a big selection of meats from beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, imitation crab, and scallops. They even have eggs you can bring to have the guys cook your meal with. And there are lots of veggies you can choose from. The sauce station was a little messy and sticky since it was a sauce station. Service was great when we were there even though it was packed. You get a ton of food with just the one bowl. You don’t have to do the unlimited option. Also each bowl comes with your chose of white rice, brown rice, lettuce, or tortilla. Or you can pay extra and get fried rice. The fried rice isn’t the kind of fried rice you would get at a Chinese restaurant. It’s more similar to the kind you’d get at PF Changs. If you sign up for their eclub online, you get an email on your birthday for a free bowl with the purchase of a bowl. Also, the restaurant can be kind of loud and smokey if you sit near the cooks so try to sit near the bar.

What a difference a different location makes. I had been to other Mongolian grill locations which were sub-par. This one has good service, more upscale atmosphere, and 3x the selection of meats, veggies, and sauces. So the deal is you build your own bowl to have stir fried. Part of the fun is seeing how much you can fit in one bowl at a time. The first buffet style bar is meats/tofu/seafood, the second bar is all the veggies, and the third is where you pick all of your sauces. Once complete you bring your bowl up the grill where they cook it for you and put on a little show. Choice of white rice, brown rice, tortillas, and lettuce wraps delivered to your table. They now have fried rice as well for an extra charge. There is a separate salad bar including soups for your side. Best value is the unlimited bowl, but bring your appetite. –My fave bowl includes the sirloin, various veggies, egg, chili garlic sauce, pad thai sauce, and brown rice at the table. –Try their deep fried oreos if you have room for dessert.

This is NOT a review about the host staff and servers at BD’s Mongolian Grill, they were Great! Our party of 4 had dinner Friday night, 11 Sep 2015. I travel and eat out a lot but unfortunately this is the first time I felt compelled to leave a review. This is a review about the CHAOS that goes on with the cook staff on the grill and the SLOPPY way they prepared our meals. Instead of properly cooking our meals with a little flare for the entertainment value, they TRASHED the food we had thoughtfully piled into our bowls. 1. My meal was BURNT and included ingredients from someone else’s meal. I didn’t put any pasta in my bowl but had plenty of it when I got to my table. 2. One cook scrapped the BURNTREMAINS, from the dish he had just cooked, so hard that chunks of burnt food flew across the grill and actually ended up in someone else’s food. 3. The eggs I provided for my meal were madly scrambled and ended up in the meals being prepared on both sides to mine, but not mine. 4. My vegetables were smashed and OVERCOOKEDBEYONDRECOGNITION. The cook staff acted more like a locker room full of teenage boys looking for trouble than professional cooks. They spent more time horse playing with each other and eyeing up the women waiting for their food than doing their jobs. The cook staff was in need of adult supervision but unfortunately none was available.

Thank You BD!!! Once again I had a great experience at your restaurant(and I love that you’ve added yummy sauce). I took my friend’s daughter for her 10th birthday and my 2nd39th birthday ! She loved it! So did I. Great atmosphere, everyone friendly and energetic! The food was delicious with a huge variety. You get your money’s worth for sure !! I’ll definitely be back. Again and again :)

We went on a slow day and sat out on the patio. Our server was not very welcoming. We asked to start with water and then requested a drink menu. After we received it, she awkwardly watched us talk among ourselves for a few minutes, until I requested again that we start with water. She asked if we wanted any appetizers and I again told her we just received the menu… and then she went to get our waters. …Okay, so her pacing was completely off and awkward, but there’s still room to recover. Upon coming back to the table, she asked us again for drinks and appetizers. We ordered two margaritas, and then I told her we were going to do the unlimited bowls. It seemed like she heard me, and then turned to leave. We went to get our first round of food. Upon finishing, I sat there for 15 minutes without another new bowl. …after I told her that we’d both get the unlimited bowls. When she finally came back, I received a bowl and then she left, not asking my friend if she wanted one. So then, my friend was waiting awhile on her bowl as well. Again her pacing and table checks were completely off. But all of that probably would have annoyed me far less if she was friendly and warm. She wasn’t exactly rude, just not a good waitressing type. No ounce of warmth at all. Huh. And it was slow. Maybe you have chores in the back? I know how that goes. But at least try to care that you have customers. ?? Oddly enough, BD’s was better the last time I was here, when it was busy. Spices were not stocked(I had to scrape the last bits of peanut crumbs out of the comtainer), grill staff ignored the customers(besides one that made it a point to talk to people), and our waitress wasn’t very well trained. The food is okay, but nothing is of excellent quality. And the lacking customer service… especially on a slow day… makes me less likely to return.

The preparation style is fun. You choose the ingredients like meat vegetables noodles. Then they mix it together. At the end of the ingredient area, is the cooks who make it in front of you. It’s a clean place and delicious.

Buffet style meats, veggies, and pick your own sauces and spices. A word to the wise go easy on the curry as I completely ruined my meal one time. After your selections are made you take your bowl to be cooked on a large hibachi style table and your creation is ready to enjoy within minutes. Fun place to go and you can also eat outside on the patio if it’s a nice day.

Friendly asian food place for people who are not so into«multi-cultural» food. You get a student discount on Wednesdays.(From $ 11 to $ 8!) Good service, but a little bit slow. Try to fit as much as you can in 1 bowl; make a mountain!

not true Mongolian bbq. BD’s tries to combine Asian with Mexican and American. A True Mongolian grill uses a huge upside down gong which BD’s doesn’t have. Worth trying at least once.

So even though the waiter was nice enough to explain everything and give us very thorough instructions, the food itself was not very good… The flavors were just all mixed and in my opinion the notecards that give you certain recipes on the side is not very good… Just make dish with your own ingredients
