I spotted the Golden Eagle Restaurant fairly immediately on our first night in Beaver Creek. We drove in from Santa Fe, New Mexico and arrived at the village during an odd in between lunch and dinner hour. We settled in for a drink at the bar and asked the busy manager for any available reservation. Lucky for us, the bar crowd was nice because there were only 5 seats at the short bar. Also luckily, they found a table for the two of us. The food and the service were excellent. It turned out to be a small world when we learned the manager, David, had a friend from Santa Fe whom we actually knew. How cool! It was wonderful to have such a person greet us to the town. We really felt at home. The trout cakes were awesome. I only wish I didn’t get the appetizer so that I would have had more room for my delicious short rib entrée. My server, Bubba, was also a delight. She was knowledgeable and friendly. Not to mention her perfect timing. I simply didn’t have the time or belly to try everything on the menu that I wanted. I hope to make it back again and again on this trip. The braised short rib is not to be missed.

My family andI have been to Beaver three times, and the last two times we ate at the Golden Eagle. This place is fabulous for both lunch and dinner. Lunch was less expensive than the cafes on the Mountain and didn’t even compare in taste. For lunch I had Elk Chili and Grilled cheese sandwich; my wife and my daughter ordered the special soup, sone kind if bean soup. My picky son had the best chicken fingers and i devoured what was left of his. Everything was !!! For dinner I had the Elk Carpaccio app, and pan seared local, fresh trout for my entrée. We had a table of 8 adults and an adjacent booth with 7 kids. Everyone had a great meal and experience. The service at this place is as good as any fine restaurant I have ever been to. The owner, Don, and the server, David, are outstanding and great folks. I wish I had photos, but once the food was served, I dove right in! Obviously, I highly recommend this place.

Thanks Don and Toni. The best meal and time we had in our week of vacation. We just about sampled the entire appetizer and menu w our large group. Delicious!

It’s clean, nice and in a good location and the host was friendly, but the small space feels crowded. There was a building crowd of anxious diners which is probably why the waitress seemed to want to hurry things up, but still we’re paying customers and it’s 10 degrees outside. But where they really lost me was when I ordered the game burger(elk, bison, antelope, etc.), which the menu says is best medium rare and for emphasis the waitress warned that I should only order it if I liked my burgers medium rare, and low and behold after all the disclaimers, the damned thing came out medium well at best(there was not even a sparkle of pink in there) and dry and just not great. The Dusty boot 75 or so yards away is a little more folksy and has a better burger.

Food is just amazing. Lots of healthy options. Excellent service. I had the elk meatloaf which was out of this world. Decent wine list. A little light on the beer selection. Overall an excellent choice for dinner while in Beavercreek.

I ate here for lunch twice while staying at the Park Hyatt and skiing in Beaver Creek. Located in the heart of the village, this is a good spot for lunch. I highly recommend their sweet potato waffle fries!

Loved this place. Not posh & stuffy. Phenomenal Elk Chili. The Mountain Game Burger was also quite delicious! This place was so good for lunch on Saturday, that my wife and I couldn’t wait to come back the very next day for around 2!!! And now can’t wait to come back again!

Had a great Thanksgiving dinner here. I called in advance to grab a reservation for thanksgiving night. The sweet potato bisque soup was so amazing as was the chocolate bourbon pecan pie. Definitely recommend this place.

Went here for Vail/BC restaurant week with my husband to celebrate. We’ve overlooked this place how many times as it’s situated right next to one of our favorites, Hooked. The food was delicious, service — excellent. Hopefully, we will return!

Walking around the Village of Beaver Creek for our anniversary this year we came across this place for lunch. After looking over the menu we both decided that we should go with Elk because why not? My husband got the elk tacos and said the seasoning wad great. I believe they cost $ 13. I got the elk salad. It came with carmalized onions, goat cheese, raspberries, black berries, blue berries spinach, a blackberry balsamic vinaigrette, candied walnuts and thinly sliced elk. After removing the blueberries since I’m allergic, it was amazing! This too was I believe $ 13. Overall a great afternoon on the patio. I accidently left my bag with the earrings I just bought. Didn’t realize it until 3 hours later when we got back to our hotel room. I called them up and they had set them aside for me!

We stopped by this place for lunch because it smelled delicious. Turns out the smells were from next door. We ordered wild game burgers from their restaurant week menu for lunch. I never send food back… really. I tried to eat it. But after adding salt 3 times, I gave up. The server was apologetic, said it was one of their best selling items, and maybe it was an off day, but it was flavorless and tough. Something I would expect from a truck stop, maybe. Not a pricey $ 16 burger. No gamey flavor, no nothing. Even the fries were bad.

Great Lunch menu. The BLTA is really special, due to the BACON they use. I highly recommend you dine here.

Always always always come back to this great Resturant! Have been coming to the Beaver Creek for 20+ years and it’s as good today as it was then… probably better! Great management always hires professional staff and chef always has a great menu. Love it!

Let me start by raving about the service. The server was attentive without being pushy. When we arrived, I asked about having blue cheese stuffed olives with my martini. Unfortunately, they did not have any at the bar. It took a few minutes for the drinks to arrive, and much to my delight, the server located blue cheese, and my martini arrived with the blue cheese stuffed olives I love. We ordered the Wag It steak which was fabulous, so very tender and tasty, and the elk meat loaf. For comfort food, it can’t be beat. It was moist and the apricot chipotle sauce was perfect with it.

Busy during ski season, and especially during events. TIP1 — Lunch is served until 4 and is ½ the cost of dinner, so if you can beat the ski crowd off the slopes, beat the dinner prices and get here early. TIP2 — Get a window seat and people watch while you eat. TIP3 — Lots of game served here and it usually comes rare. You have to tell them if you want it any other way. 3 Amigos Tacos($ 15) — Seasoned finely chopped(almost ground) elk meat on small tortillas with cabbage and a chipotle mayo topped with avocado. Deliciously tasty and just right for lunch. If you have a choice of fries, get them both. The sweet potato and the garlic fries are both excellent. Game Burger($ 12) — Elk, venison, boar, antelope, and buffalo all ground together and served with caramelized onions on a brioche roll. Great flavors but not sure how many people can distinguish all the different meat flavors. May be worth ordering just to be able to say you ate all those meats. Overall, delicious wild game flavors in a place with nice ambiance and views, but the best value is the lunch that is served until 4:00.

We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. Based on prior reviews we thought it would be good but it exceeded expectations. My husband had the wag it steak and it was one of the most tender, juiciest steaks we’ve ever tried. I had the scallop appetizer for dinner and it was to die for. They had a slightly spicy rub on top that gave them some extra flavor. We also ordered the slide it two ways which were amazing. They used a special Japanese bun which gave it a very unique twist. Finally, our server was hilarious. Between her and the manager we were definitely taken care of. They both checked on us consistently and ensured that we had everything we needed. One recommendation, if it’s during ski season, get a reservation. We were a little early to ours and the place wasn’t too busy; however by 730 it was packed!

Very solid and very big portions. Service was a little confused, but very nice. Duck wing appetizer is a must.

Beaver Creek is a tough place to dine. It’s really overpriced and in my experience the food is somewhat mediocre and dated in style and presentation. We were in BC in mid-June and it’s a good time to be in town because there are specials to be had and it’s a calm, very mellow experience. We researched our options for dinner and Golden Eagle had a great prix fixe special and great kids’ meals. I liked my parmesan-crusted trout and affordable mojito. My kids’ salmon was good! And affordable. I would come back here. It’s not amazing, but it’s very doable, especially considering what’s around. Yes, good stuff.

Drove over to Beaver Creek to walk around and decided to try out the Golden Eagle Inn. It is right in the heart of Beaver Creek, and with it being summer time, they had all the floor to ceiling windows slid back accordion style, so it had a nice indoor/outdoor feel. I had the Elk Loin and it was delicious. A nice medium rare, very tender and great flavor with some wonderful fingerling potatoes. My wife had the trout(which the waiter said was one of their signature dishes) and enjoyed it very much. Our daughter had the spaghetti with marinara off the kids menu and liked it as well. My wife and I both tried it and agreed the pasta was cooked well, and the sauce tasted fresh. An enjoyable meal, and it being a slower time in Beaver Creek, it was nice and quiet, with no crowds.

The Golden Eagle restaurant in Beaver Creek Colorado used to be one of our favorites — not recently. Last evening was our second try — should have known better. There were 6 at our table. 3 of us ordered the trout. Mine came out so burnt that I could not even cut it with my knife — I sent it back, only to receive a slightly less burnt piece. My husband ordered the pasta special, which came with a giant meatball — would have probably tasted good, if the meatball wasn’t overcooked to resemble a piece of coal. The pasta, described as «spicy» was so hot, it could not be eaten. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area — find one of them. Stay clear of this one !
