Omg. I’m basing this off the tamales alone… HORRIBLE. It’s EXACTLY like they made Cream of Wheat, flavored it with«tamale flavoring», rolled them in the husks and set them in greasy something. I saw, NOR tasted any meat whatsoever. You can’t pick them up once the husk comes off. I can’t even call them tamales. I shoulda known something was off when they served them with a SPOON. Ay Dios mio!

I am giving the tamales one star because they were horrendous. I was extremely disappointed. My husband traveled to Beaumont, purchased 2 dozen, and returned home with what looked like Masa only. Where the meat was at, I don’t know. A total waste of time and money. Now in all fairness, the cracklins and boudain I will give them 5 stars, Amazing Flavor.

I been here a few times. The tamales are very good compared to Some of the Mexican Restaurants. We always purchased the hog cracking which is always Good.

When I was in town my fiancé said that we had to drive thru this place, so we did. We ordered the cracklins and boudain to tie us over until we made it way out of town. O.M.G. … the cracklins were amazing and like something I had never had before. There were chunks of meat on them. They come in a brown paper bad and you can see the grease on the paper bag … this is a good thing! I seriously wish I had gotten a picture but did not even think about it. Then we tried the boudain and it was delicious too! I have totally be looking forward getting my hands on some more of this crack! I need it! I definitely look forward to stopping by again when I am in town and maybe I will try more of the menu too! I feel like I need to try more on the menu for them to earn that 5th star from me.

People are so nice here, place id cute and, clean and is a drive thru. I had never been before to Uncle Henry’s but did have his tamales at my Daughter’s Baby Shower eight yrs ago: all 90 dozen. They were delicious then and are still, the same. Moist, meaty and meant to be eaten with a fork. Cracklins; Oh My Word! I had never had anything like this before. Must be really bad for you because it is really awesome. Ordered a small bag, went right back around and got a little bigger bag, too. Full of pork meat and crunchy. My husband had the traditional kind and is was really good. We bought two dozen tamales and had alot left over. He brought them to work and nobody really cared for them, but then again, my husband and many of his co-workers like Mexican food and I don’t.so I can only conclude this must be the reason I find these so good! Definately, try the Cracklins if you go. You won’t be sorry.

Just stopped by and picked up an order of tamales, a pint of gumbo, and a bag of cracklins. Seriously might be the best chicken and sausage gumbo in town. Filled with meat, not too much rice. Spicy. A+ Tamales are out of this world good. Get a bottle of hot sauce and a fork and go to town. Or just use your hands! Cracklins can’t be missed. A small bag is only $ 2 I think. Get ‘em. You’ll see.

I grew up on Uncle Henry Tamales. I am 46 and started eating them with my mom when Uncle Henry actually made them and sold them on Saturdays under the Viadock bridge in Beaumont. Quality and taste cant be beat.

The best thing about uncle henry’s isn’t the tomales, its the fresh made cracklins. I like to think of them as food crack. They come in a little brown bag and are fresh and greasy and have huge chunks of meat still attached, easily some of the best cracklins I have ever had and you cant beat how fresh they are. The only way to appreciate these cracklins is to get them in Beaumont they are so fresh that if you take them anywhere and let someone try them they lose something. The Tamales here are excellent as well but I’m tellin ya the cracklins are top notch!
