Sunrise Records is pretty cool. I didn’t really find what I was looking for, but I will most definitely be going back to hunt for gems and incense.

A record store in Beaumont? Why, yes and one that’s been in the same location forever. I bought new LPs here when they moved from their old location further up 11th St. near Brock’s. Went by there today, as I dusted off my 70s vintage(bought new) TT to browse titles I didn’t already have as LP(yes I kept them) or CD. The used LP selection is very extensive while most all of the albums I looked at were in NM condition. Picked up five in the A-C rock category I browsed today. I’ll be back.

Sunrise Records was a welcome find during a recent trip to Beaumont. The store remains the only local record store in the area if you need your vinyl fix and it certainly has its own unique character. Records are loosely categorized and tend to be in moderate condition and mostly older releases. Gems abound in the shelves, but be prepared to hunt for them, particularly in the singles section, where it gets to be a bit chaotic. Perhaps the greatest issue I have with the store is it is missing essential accessories such as brushes and record needles, which would be a welcome addition when there are no local options.

A record shop with a head shop in one back corner and adult area in the other. This place has been around forever. Cool place to stop if you need some papers or a Joni Mitchell album.
