The only reason it gets one star is because there is no zero star option. After I spoken to the first lady in the Eastex Fwy branch, she told me that I needed to work at least 6 months to be eligible for applying auto loan, but with my previous work experience, they may be able to approve my loan application. She asked to come back with my contracts.
A few days later, I went to the branch near Lamar. Terrible experience. The black woman in that branch working on loans is not helpful at all. She insisted that I can’t apply because I worked less than 6 months. I said but the other branch told me I could. She said my branch manager said no so that’s no. I said why do you guys have inconsistent policies? She said there’s no inconsistency because the first lady in the Eastex Fwy branch told me wrong and I needed to speak to the branch manager there. I said if you’re so sure you’re right and she’s wrong, why should I speak to the branch manager there? She said because you went there. See, there is no logic in her word. I don’t know how she can handle complex things like numbers and money if she can’t even understand such simple logic. I asked her why can’t you call the branch manager there? She said because you went there and it’s not my work to call them. Bitch. That’s my only comment for her.
The next day, I went back to the Eastex Fwy branch. The first lady I spoke to wasn’t there, so I spoke to another woman working on loans. She found out my SSN is work only because I’m not citizen. She said let me ask my supervisor. I waited 10 minutes. Nobody answered her call. She said I’ll have to contact you via email. I said that’s no problem. She never emailed me back. Never ever.
In conclusion, Education First Federal Credit Union is inconsistent, confusing, and extremely bad in recruiting and training their employees. Their employees (a) don’t know the policy that they should know, (b) are not helpful, © are mean, useless, and brainless, and (d) have a hard time keeping their promise.

Joseph M. The account manager was correct in that you should have been more responsible with your account. You have failed to take accountability for your irresponsible banking behavior and have decided to blame others. I imagine you would have been reimbursed had you only over drafted your account a couple of times but 15 times, come on man! I am quite sure they will not miss your business.
On the other hand, I have always received outstanding service. The employees are friendly and always take care of me and my family quite well. Of course, I also responsibly bank and monitor my account to stay in good standing with them.

I had been a member here off and on for the past 12 – 15 years. I have always had free overdraft protection on my account until recently when the policy changed. I spoke to the lady at the front desk and was informed that these fees have always bee in the bi-​laws, but were never enforced until recently. I had at least 15 5 $ fees in the past few weeks from overdraft transfers from my savings. The account manager I spoke to told me the fees have been in place for the time she has worked there (8 years) and that is a 100% lie. I was reimbursed for only 2 of the fees because the account manager said that I should have checked my account more often to find these fees and been more responsible. I’m sorry, but if I’ve had years upon years of FREE overdraft protection and for it to suddenly change is beyond ridiculous. All banks and credit unions are shady when it comes to fees, but the fact that I have an account manager telling me I should pay more attention to my account is uncalled for. I have never had to check my account for these fees. I promptly closed my account and left. A big FU to Education First FCU.
