The BBQ here is a hidden treasure. Love the smoked turkey and the dirty beans are a must! Always clean and lots of variety in snacks and drinks. Service can be friendly depending on the day but they have never been rude… just tired looking which I can understand. I recommend a try.

Made a pit stop here for some gas and the people were not friendly. They didn’t acknowledge me or even ask if I needed help. It was weird, standing at the counter right in front of a girl and no southern hospitality was given. Missing Louisiana already. We chose to drive on and spend our lunch money else where.

Straight best Bar B Que in Texas. We go hundreds of miles out of our way to stop here. The ribs are fall off the bone smoked deep and huge. The brisket(get it thin sliced) is better than any I have ever tasted. We found the place twenty years ago just on the advice of a stranger when we were visiting Anahuac and since then everything gets compared to Bar — H. If you have time buy up a mess of meat and fixings and drive down to San Jacinto — it will be your most memorable picnic. For out of staters or Texans who have missed rubbing shoulders with real Texans, this place is great, excellent food, friendly crew and just like those places were decades ago – get it before its gone.

Decent spot to stop for cheap gas as you get into Texas. Nothing major to report here just another Texas gas station with BBQ in it. Pretty decent spot, kinda the middle of nowhere but, whatever did the trick for some gas at the time and was a big store with lots of conveniences for the road! I just happen to like Texas and so this place wasn’t too bad to stop at our drive through. After reading these reviews down the side of the page it makes me wish I had tried some of the BBQ!

Stopped in on the way back to Houston today. Got a very nice sized tasty sliced brisket sandwich and a bag of gourmet chips for under eight bucks. I’m a fan of this place.

This is a small gas station and country store right off of I-10. The service was excellent and prompt and my food was hot. Also I was in and out in 15 minutes. When you’re on the road and time is valuable, you need a quick meal. This is it. The Food: All I had was a simple BBQ hamburger with cheese, onions and pickles. A simple recipe that delivered exactly what it promises. The sauce was tangy and a tad bitter. The Verdict: This is definitely a great pit stop for anyone passing. It’s probably not worth going out of your way, but well worth the stop.

First off, this place is a country gas station with a handful of tables. Do not be dissuaded by that. As far as I am concerned, Bar H serves the absolute best barbecue in the area(and I have done my research), serving superior food over a double handful of fancier, more expensive restaurants. Historically, I am a sliced brisket guy, and Bar H does a great job in that department. However, The hidden gem on the menu is the smoked turkey!

Damn good BBQ. Bar H is a gas station and BBQ joint located on I-10 between Beaumont and Houston. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich and a link of boudin. The Brisket was amazingly tender and smoky and on a fresh bun. The sandwich was really great. The boudin link was good, but not as good as the brisket. It was wrapped with two piers of white bread which actually got in the way. I would have preferred it without the bread. The store itself was interesting. Several animal heads lined the walls which gave it that hunting lodge feel. There were several tables where you could dine, but we opted to eat on the road. There is very easy access to this place from I-10 E. I am sure you could get to it form the westbound side, but it didn’t seem as easy. If you’re headed to Houston, you should definitely try Bar H.
