I’m sure most people come for the view and I can’t blame them! My latte was fine, although my boyfriend’s americano was so hot we ended up throwing it out, hence the knocked star. Honestly it was too hot to hold and definitely too hot to drink. We gave it two blocks and decided against second degree burns.

I got coffee twice here while visiting Beaufort and thought it was a nice little coffee shop. I stuck with drip coffee both times, but they seem to offer a wide selection of lattes and frozen drinks. The drip coffee was great both mornings and the service was quick for the lines that seem to form here in the AM. Friendly staff as well!
Common ground is located right by the waterfront and has a spacious back porch offering nice views of the waterfront park. Grab a coffee and go walk around downtown beaufort!

Love this cute little place. They have yummy selections! I would say it’s a little overpriced but that won’t stop me from grabbing a smoothie and slice of cheesecake again! Perfect location right on the water! And fast service considering how busy it was :) downtown Beaufort is the best!

Awesome view hands down while enjoying your coffee, reading a book or just lounging. We saw families, joggers and dog walkers so there’s good people watching too! :)
There is a decent beverage selection but honestly, I just grabbed a cup of joe and wanted to run out to the back deck and enjoy the view.

We stopped by Common Ground while visiting Beaufort for a little snack. Had a buttermilk biscuit and wonderful triple shot latte. Very good. But while sitting and sipping I couldn’t help but notice the display case with the tempting gelato bins. Before we left I just had to grab a cone. Excellent flavor (I had the blueberry) and tremendous texture-​soft, creamy, dense. If you’re in the area… by all means stop by and indulge yourself.

Super great place for a quick treat. Wonderful staff and beautiful location. You can sit inside at a table, in a comfortable chair, or outside on the porch overlooking the water. Free internet too! I come here often to do work. Love getting sweet tea and gelato. Always enjoy a conversation with another local. Open Mic nights on Fridays are days to avoid. It’s a lot of teenagers running around a loud.

Great place to hangout and have something good to drink, dessert or even a light healthy lunch. Lot so comfy couches and leather chairs. WiFi of course. Can get a bit loud when noisy tourist enter in mass. But sit back in the rear near the fireplace. Good for catching up on some reading while waiting for a spouse to finish window shopping on the main drag.

My wife and I stopped in for a light dinner. We had one of the best quiches ever. I loved the Chai latte and their southern hospitality. Sorry we live so far away in snowy Boston.

Good coffee and ice cream on the Beaufort waterfront. Their service was very friendly and they poured me a generous macchiato. I loved the location on the water and enjoyed taking our provisions out to the swings across the park.

Good coffee and a quiet atmosphere to read, study, just hang out. Stayed all morning until lunch. Lunch menu looked promising but they were out of a number of things on the menu board, leaving some prewrapped sandwiches or quiche as the only options. Little disappointed they didn’t have the chicken pot pie. I’d go back for the coffee bit probably not for food. Good music, for what it’s worth.

Fantastic. The way things should be made. Got the raspberry peach smoothie and guess what? Actual raspberry and peaches! No added sugar just a little local honey for sweetness! Just fantastic! Go get something from this place!

I only tried the Raspberry Cabernet sorbet. I used to work at a sorbet/​Gelato shop, but boy did they do it right! Even if you don’t like wine, try it… It’s really not too strong, and is not too sweet either. If you need a pick-​me-​up or a place to chill to escape the summer heat-​they have good iced coffees as well.

They have a fabulous atmosphere and a beautiful view. I tried their homemade chai tea and it is delicious. I also had their tomato pie that is so delicious I had to come back a second time just to have that taste again.
I would have given this cute little spot five stars, but they are so busy they can’t keep up with the tables and bathrooms. I bussed a few tables in my area myself just to sit in a pleasant area.
Don’t get me wrong I love this little spot and will definitely come back again. They just need to stay on top of the tables and restrooms.

Common Ground has it going on! They have the sweets, the caffeine, the friendly staff, the location, and the view– You can’t beat the view!!!
My boyfriend is a Beaufort native, so when we come home to visit, chances are, you will find us at Common Ground every night and most mornings.
(And if you’re in town around the holidays, try out «The Snowflake;» you won’t be disappointed!)
