I was surprised that I found this place considering there are not enough good restarurants in Bealeton. Food is great, prices are right, and the people are nice! The décor desperately needs updating, I take my food to go.

The service was awful! The waitress didn’t speak a lick of English. Waited over 10 minutes for our drinks. I hate places that charge you for chips and salsa. There are much better options! We won’t be returning.

This restaurant is a small not fancy authentic Mexican restaurant. It is very clean. Walk in and sit down. I was waited on immediately and offered drinks. I ordered a Coke and it came right away Everything looked delicious on the menu I ordered the tacos and let me tell you there was plenty of chicken on the tacos Beans and rice accompany the dish I would come back definitely

Food was pretty good, esp guac. I like hole in the wall restaurants but even this place was too sticky and too oddly fragrant(it smelled like crayons?) for me.

WOW… finally a wonderful authentic mexican restaurant. Been there multiple times and will definitely be a repeat customer. My husband is mexican and loves this place. The tacos are wonderful, sopes great, Caldo de res wonderful, enchiladas very good. Only complaint is the mexican rice isn’t the best I’ve ever had and is parboiled rice. I have an issue with parboiled rice. Other than that… FANTASTIC!

Agree with most everyone else, this place is not known for its ambiance but the food is great, very fresh and authentic! Service is kinda hit or miss but the food makes up for it. This place is VERY casual, come here for awesome authentic flavorful Mexican food, not for a date night.

When I first walked in, it was very loud because of their jukebox and not how I wanted to enjoy my afternoon lunch. After waiting 10 minutes to be greeted and handed a menu, I had placed a drink order and then switched it but the waitress was not able to hear me over the music. Once we received our chips and salsa my mood started to lighten up. The salsa tastes fresh with the diced onion and cilantro and the chips are not salty not oily but perfectly deep fried and crisp. Once my tacos de lengua and pastor came out I knew instantly this would be my new favorite location for tacos in the near distance from home. When we paid we walked to the cashier and she was nice. So overall I did not enjoy the environment, but the food was authentic and I will be back!

If you’re coming to eat AUTHENTIC Mexican food then this is your spot! It’s most definitely«not» fancy, I was pretty much scared to sit and order as I walked towards the back and wondered a few times how the health department rates this hole! The staff barely speaks English so don’t get picky! I had the 3 tacos«beef, spicy pork and chorizo», I did ask for some sour cream. It was all AMAZING! I still taste all of the scoring flavors 30 minutes later! Wish they served this around our way! I’d put up with the shadiness of this place to taste it’s goods again!

I’ve wanted to try this place for a while, so I was excited when a co-worker suggested it. I had the chicken burrito and also tried the pupusas. It’s the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had and I thought it was really good. The pupusas were very interesting! I had never even heard of them, so it was neat to try something different. I’d go back for sure!

This was perhaps the worst meal I’ve ever had. The enchiladas had no flavor the Pupas were tasteless the beef fajita was burnt and flavorless. Guacamole had no flavor the Carnitas had no flavor, but were very fatty. It was close to $ 70 for two adults and four children to eat there. I would not wish this restaurant on my worst enemy.

Making the drive to this place was well worth it. This is authentic Mexican food! Don’t go here to expect great service(must be a Latino culture thing) but they are nice people. If you need something just ask as they go by and you’ll get it. To drink I had an horchata and it was great(a bit too sweet for my taste but that always happens anywhere with every drink so I just ask for a glass of water). To eat I 3 tacos(from a choice of over 8) one with chorizo, one with fajita beef, one al pastor. It comes with double tortilla and enough meat to make to tacos; so technically I had 6! The tacos come with a bit of cucumbers and radishes on the side and 2 huge scallions(which I didn’t eat, but had the rest of veggies) I also had a side of guac and it had a kick to it(a bit spicy). The food was delicious and filling! For 2.50 p/taco and 2 for the guac(good portion as well). For dessert I had a chocoflan which was huge for it’s price and to die for!!! Overall I was extremely happy with my visit. And left full for $ 10!

My wife and I visited Taqueria Jasmine after reading other positive reviews & ratings on Unilocal — so I just wanted to add to the positive hype of this amazing Triple-D-worthy Mexican food eatery. Taqueria Jasmine touts«Authentic Mexican Food», and this is nothing short of 100% accurate. It reminded me of the food I had in Mexico, unlike the over cumin & chili-fied food you find here in the States. Ambiance: Taqueria Jasmine has a great Mom-&-Pop feel to it, I love that it has that«foodie» green painted on the walls — it gives it a shabby/sheik edge. Kinda cool, kinda divey. Service: The staff are 100% focused on making sure that guests feel like they are at home. My wife and I have visited TJ twice, and the staff are very attentive, and kind — even with a slight language barrier. It was awesome, because as I tried to conjure up my broken Spanish, they tried to do the same with English. All of this is happening while we are feeling quite at home with a really great cup of coffee. Cuisine: The food at TJ’s is traditional, some of it with a modern spin, and a few American dishes for the kids. In our 2 visits, my wife and I loved everything, and we wound up taking home leftovers because of the generous portions. We have tried: — Gordita Frita de Carnitas y Queso — Huechares con Carnitas — Huevos Rancheros — Huevos Con Chorizo The thing that was great about these diverse dishes was that all of them had well balanced flavor profiles — perfect spice, not too much heat, savory and slightly sweet when appropriate. Also key — these dishes are not oversaturated with oils. I’m literally looking forward to trying the whole menu over the next couple of years(just an FYI, so no one thinks I’m gonna try to take out the menu in a week! ;) I will update this review with new faves — might become a pretty long review! ;) Cost-effective: The price is as generous as the portions — low price for generous servings. Awesome! Overall Score: 5⁄5. Taqueria Jasmine is one of Fauquier County’s best kept secrets. My only hope is if they continue to get reviews like this, that we’ll still be able to find a seat at lunch or dinner. Return Visit: It’s awesome, and it’s only 5 mins away. Excellence. Amazing, creative standards to cuisine, and service with a personal touch. Visit Taqueria as soon as you can! Food Muser

I adore places like this, where the food far exceeds the décor and I’m the only one speaking English. Legit and delicious. $ 2.50 tacos. I want more.

Not sure yet what would constitute a 5-star review, but since this is my very first Unilocal or any other blog review, I feel that 4 stars is very good. First, let me say that like a previous reviewer, if you think Don Pablo’s, Taco Bell, On the Border, or Uncle Julio’s is good Mexican food, then keep driving. You won’t appreciate the authenticity and freshness of this place. So, getting to the review, we were quite skeptical rolling up into this place. I mean, it’s in the middle of nowhere Bealeton, VA and it’s at the end of a run down strip mall; but, I’ve found that you often find the best holes-in-the-wall this way… and that we did. We started with our standard beans for appetizer. They were great… and it’s amazing how many variations of beans you can get. We usually ask for«salsa picante», but she brought us a trifecta of sauces which included 1 chipotle salsa, 1 salsa verde, and 1 salsa that was too watery and flavorless for me. My husband ordered a torts which was excellent. Great bread! But I focused on my colossal meal. I ordered the Huaraches con Carnitas, but since they were only $ 6.50, I also ordered the Gordita Frita con Carnitas y Queso. Holy Hell! Not only were the portions big, but they were muy delicioso! I couldn’t get over my surprise and contentment! Needless to say that next time we roll this way back to DC, we’ll be stopping here.

The food is pretty good. The service is so horrible we have stopped going. I have never spent so much time being ignored as the times we have gone to eat here. We finally decided that even though the food is REALLY good(like the freshly made guacamole in two different versions for spicy lovers and mild lovers) we just couldn’t go back.

Sopa De Pollo, delicioso! Had to run down to Locust Grove and was cruising by here along about supper time so I decided to give it a try. They have a good selection of traditional mexican entrée’s, I opted for one pork and one chorizzo taco. When I asked for flour tortilla, she said ‘no problem’ so that put a smile on my face. They were very good sized and the chorizzo was a tad on the spicy/hot side but not teye watering hot. The pork was flavorful and very tasty. Both were garnished with fresh radishes and cucumbers. The salsa was a let down. Red, redder and verde. none of them were anything special. The stand out here is the Sopa De Pollo. Huge chunks of white meat chicken in a rich and savory broth swimming with potatoes, carrots and green beans; the best around imo.

Authentic Central American and Mexican food, prepared where you can watch if you are so inclined. The pupusas are surprisingly good, and the prices are reasonable. Their burrito dinner is too much for one [normal] person to eat for only $ 9.99. If I’m in the mood for more authentic C.A. food I go here, for Mexican and Tex-Mex I go to El Agave.

Extremely authentic Mexican food! If your idea of Mexican food is Don Pablo’s or Taco Bell, then you might as well keep on driving. Fredericksburg has plenty of boring bland food for you to eat. Their menu is rather extensive, but I didn’t need to read past the tortas. I had the tongue torta, which was fantastic. It’s also about half the size of your head. The pupusas were good I suppose for a pupusa.(I wouldn’t know; I hadn’t had one before.) They also serve MexiCoke for the same price as AmeriCoke, which made the decision pretty easy. Given the other options in the immediate area(McDonald’s, a foul-smelling Chinese place, and a hardware store that doesn’t serve food), this is by far the best choice.

I have to give this place five stars because I have not had authentic Mexican food since I left San Francisco and that was four years ago. I ate here with my Dad(who is from Mexico City) last week and we stayed about two hours just talking about how good the food was and my Dad’s love of being able to speak Spanish whenever he gets the chance. We almost contemplated ordering a bunch of food to go just so we could have more when we both arrived back home. He living in Richmond and me living in Leesburg. My Dad ordered 3 Al Pastor Tacos, served with cilantro, onion, and lemon. They were some of the best tacos I have ever had. The pork was seasoned to perfection. I ordered the quesadilla de tinga de pollo, which was shredded chicken in a corn quesadilla prepared with tomato, onion, and chipotle pepper. I know ordering a quesadilla is pretty generic and white of me but honestly, it was to die for. The little old lady in the back kitchen really knows how to season and cook her meat to perfection. When you do go to this place be expected to use your Spanish speaking skills because no one there really spoke English that well. Also, everyone eating in the restaurant was of Spanish speaking descent so you know it has to be good, right? They don’t sell liquor at this place but they do have a few beers to chose from.
