Royal Purple Raceway

Their legal street racing is great. There are all kinds of vehicles that make an appearance on Friday nights. The entry fee is $ 10 to watch. They serve food and beer. I’ve had the chicken tenders and the cheeseburger which actually aren’t bad. Their food is comparable to bar food. I would highly recommend going on a friday night for good family fun.

A bit pricey and disorganized but we love going here, they put on the Spring Nationals great every year! I wish they’d be more flexible on smoking areas but not a huge deal.

This was way too much fun! I was a little leary coming into it but I am a fan. If I lived close to Baytown I would be a frequent visitor.

5^th year of seeing the O’Reilly Spring Nationals Drag Races here. Great facilities. Alway get top names in the sport. Weather could be a challenge, but today was perfect.

This is where the Relay for Life Baytown took place this year and the relay itself was great, however that is not what I am reviewing… I shall review the venue. Now, the Raceway Park is actually called Royal Purple Raceway. It is huge and the restrooms were clean.
Only negative I can think of is the parking. It was a HUGE lot with only one exit, can you see the problem? It took some people hours to leave the relay once it was over. The police was called at one point to direct traffic and it took them a good 45 minutes to get there. One of my coworkers and I tried to leave, but once we saw the mess just stayed another two hours. We lost our car and it took us a good 20 minutes to find it. There were no signs, number or landmarks to remember where your car was! and trust me, everything looks different at night! Next time I will get there early and park as close to the exit as possible!
I still would go back to the raceway for an actually race. My friend from Baytown rides bikes and tells me there are some «street» races that take place there. That may be fun.
