Food Oyster Delux Rice with Tofu Soup 4⁄5 — plenty of oysters in the bowl and are decent sized. Came to table hot but had to wait for it to cook itself for a bit before opening. Tasted wonderful especially after you pour in the sauce and mix. The ginkgo nuts was good and balanced well in both taste and color with the bowl. Dubu Gu Yi 4⁄5(Fried stuffed tofu) — Nice and crispy when arrived at table. Bit chewy in center but liked it still. The presentation of it was beautiful since it looked little like cut up french toast. Not really fan of the tiny salad that it shared the plate on, seemed like an afterthought. To Pok Ki 4⁄5 — Loved the sweet spicy level of the sauce and its gooeyness. The rice cakes were nice and chewy, really absorbed the sauce flavor. The dumplings that came with it were also very good and tasted great when smothered with the sauce. For $ 8.99 though, the dish was a bit skimpy so I was expecting a bit more. Side dish(fried fish) 5⁄5 Just had to mention that this crispy fried fish was excellent. I know it looks simple but I actually ate two and wanted more. The fish was fried perfectly with a light outer batter that sealed in the steamy flavors of the fish within. They have a small parking lot around the restaurant but it was packed so we parked in the neighborhood around it.

My first time coming to this chain Korean BBQ place. Heard good things and I’m glad I came. There is a small parking lot by the entrance and more spaces behind the restaurant. There is street parking in the neighborhood but that can be hit or miss depending on the time and day you are here. Decent sized main dining area and I believe there is seating downstairs as well. The menus are actually the table cover which is clever. There are a few differences that I noticed compared to other Korean BBQ places I’ve been to. One was the take out option. That’s amazing that you have that option. I might try that the next time I am here. The other is that the meat is cooked for you. Most of the places I’ve been to, you cook the meat yourself at the table. I’m not sure that is even an option here. Not that is a bad thing. At least you don’t leave smelling like smoke. The meat does come out on a hot plate and comes out steamy hot. I had the pork bulgolgi. You can vary your level of spicyness as well. They use red pepper symbols. The scale runs from zero to three. I had mine at two and it wasn’t too spicy. It was served on a bed of fried onions and other peppers were mixed in. A little too much onions for my taste but the meat was very good. Seasoned nicely and cooked right. It also came with Tofu soup which you can get vegetables or seafood. You can also chose your spicyness level here too. I went with spicy and seafood. You get a raw egg to crack into the soup if you like. I put mine in right away so it would cook while it was hot. The Tofu soup was really good. It had shrimp and clans mixed in as well. My only disappointment were the side dishes. The Kim Chi was good but I didn’t really like the other choices. There was pickles, broccoli and a few more. Everyone also gets a fried fish as well. That was good as well. They also had dumplings and the scallion pancakes as an option for sides. Our table shared a large order of both. Plenty to go around for four people. The service was excellent. A little bit of a language barrier but nothing you can’t overcome with pointing to the menu. I would definitely give them five stars if not for the side dishes. I’ll be back though.

I always come here for lunch specials, for less than $ 20 I get the marinated pork belly combo with the seafood tofu soup. So good, and great service. The food also comes with lots of appetizers which are also very good, I love their fried fish appetizer.

This is one of my favorite places to grab Korean food. I’ve gotten take out here and eaten in. I love the barley tea and the free appetizers. My go to dish is the jap chae, I order it every time and I can’t get enough of it. The portion is also pretty generous so I usually have leftovers. My fiancé enjoys the spicy rice cake appetizer and spicy tofu soup. I do recommend parking outside of the parking lot because it can get packed.

BCDtofuhouse located in Northern Blvd Flushing has a very long history. During the first snow in NY. I would like to get there. The restaurant looked small from outside. The parking lot is very limited, compared with the traffic volume This is my first experience here, so I ordered Kimchi rice cake as the appetizer, which is as soft as marshmallow. Very fresh taste. Then I had two tofu pot, one is seafood pot, the other is Korean curry pot. Bah I am not a fan of the curry pot. Classic tofu pot is great I guess. Then we had Korean-bbq pork, which was good but salty. I need to drink a lot of water. By the way, before the appetizer, they treated us with a great variety of sides. Typical kimchi, fried fresh-water fish and other vegetable pickle. Overall, this is a nice experience. I won’t visit a second time.

Service was good, separate parking lot, ample seating. As good as it gets! I got the seafood tofu soup, and I got it spicy. I was tempting between spicy and extra spicy, but I was advised not to, as ‘spicy’ was already really hot. Indeed, not sure if it was just this location, but the spicy WAS really spicy! If you need more spice, you can always ask for more peppers(the waitress should understand). The banchan was good, service was fast and friendly. :)

This is a solid place to get your Korean food craving fixed and leave with a full stomach to the point that you have to watch slowly for the digestion to kick in. I came here during lunch hours and not surprisingly, it was a full house. We were seated immediately but the fist seats that we got was next to this incredibly loud group of women who were talking so loud, I could hardly hear myself over them. Thankfully, the staff was very attentive to our needs and moved us asap when we asked if we could get a «quieter» seating area. They’re very prompt in getting your order in so that you can get your food asap. This is one of the few Korean places that I have been to where the bonchon is limitless and very fresh and delicious tasting. They refill as soon as they see your old plate is nearly empty. The bonchon includes kimchi(not surprisingly), spicy and chewy squid(very flavorful!) kale(this must be a new addition… but it’s very tasty and filling), seaweed salad, pickled cucumbers, croaker fish(one for each person; I don’t believe that this one is limitless), and fish cake(this one was meh in my opinion). You also get eggs to crack into your tofu soup, as well as crunchy rice(not sure what it’s called in English). We ordered the beef/mixed/seafood tofu soups and the food came out so quick that I was surprised. As the tofu soup is placed down in front of you, it is still sizzling and bubbling hot. This is the best time to crack the egg in otherwise the soup will cool down and the end result is that your egg won’t cook completely. I like to scoop some rice into my tofu soup because otherwise the tofu soup can be scalding hot(which is not very good for your teeth or gums). The rice absorbs the flavor of the soup very fast and becomes very tasty. The tofu is also well cooked and very silky. It has good texture and just practically melts in your mouth. We got the tofu soup at «regular» spiciness and that was already pretty spicy for us. It’s not an unpleasant spicy though. It’s just rather brought out more by the fact that the food is piping hot. It’s more of a temperature induced spiciness. As I stated before, the staff is also very attentive and resourceful. They all tend to your needs and get you whatever you want. Very professional attire and attitudes too. They all have really good poker faces(haha!). Good place to come to get fresh, delicious, and spicy enough tofu soup! Thumbs up all the way!

my fav is always the small whole fried fish bonchon you get. their korean pickles are good too. The soondubus are always yummy. I usually like the seafood or the mushroom. Don’t forget to put the egg in! The kalbi and bipimbob were ok… kinda dry. stick to the tofu at the tofu house

I remember growing up in Flushing and Little Neck in the 90s and being hard-pressed to find non-Koreans at a Korean restaurant. How times have changed.(Soon Du Boo), or «Soft Tofu,» has always been a beloved cultural dish and it’s great to see the world finally come to appreciate Korean cuisine. I love that the dish comes piping hot in a stone bowl and that it’s offered at various spice levels. Just between you, me, and the rest of the world, the spice level that I request is contingent on where the meal is being enjoyed. If it’s at the restaurant, I always opt for the mild version. Decorum is of the essence. But if it’s to be enjoyed at home, I prefer to spring for the spicer option and let the sweaty floodgates open wide. There are a few downsides, however, which I theoretically attribute to the increasing demand. Firstly, I recall that the banchan(side dishes) used to come more bountifully years ago. Yet, what banchan are currently offered are delicious and replenished upon request. Secondly, the portions seem slightly smaller than they used to be. Thirdly, you might find yourself waiting up to forty-five minutes on really busy days(typically weekends). Still, if you are looking for some Soon Du Bu to warm the seoul(see what I did there?), this spot is as good as any.

The more I come here, the more I like this place. I seriously dig their curry tofu and the L.A. galbi. Solid Korean soft tofu place. Remember to go to this place for lunch! They have it everyday of the week!

I swear I think I was Korean in a past life. The seafood soon dooboo is so damn tasty and spicy — real open your pores type of spice. They are known for their homemade soft tofu soups and they are worth every penny. Again — you must come out to Queens for the nuance in flavors, skip the Manhattan location. I love the fried fish that comes with the banchan — it reminds me of my childhood when my grandmother and mom made similar fish. Spouse and father in law ordered the gal bi and other meat dishes that I don’t eat and they LOVED every bite. My soul soars each and every time that I eat here. About 5 hours after leaving spouse asked«you are still in your happy place because of BCD, right?» I just smiled. I guess I was glowing.

They give you a free fried fish to eat when you sit down. Need I say more? That’s awesome! Then, when you order, the put enough free food in front of you to make a sumo wrestler happy! Tons of awesome fermented stuff, like kimchi, little black beans, broccoli, all winners. And then they bring you macaroni salad with ham in it, and you’re like«hmm that’s weird, doesn’t fit at all» but its GOOD anyway and you eat it! The décor is nice, lots of booths, which is a winner to me. Place seems packed always, with people chowing down. The lunch special is a winner, you get a big bowl of this hot as hell soup in a stone pot which is really tasty, if you like tofu, you’ll be in heaven because they give you about a pound of it. Then you get to pick a main course, i usually get the kalbi, because you can’t go wrong with korean bbq short ribs The servers are extremely nice as well. I love this place, and would eat there once a week if I had the chance! Go try it for yourself!

This was my first experience at BCD Tofu House and certainly not my last. Like many Korean restaurants, they provide you with kimchi dishes as you wait for your food to come. The highlight was the fried fish that they provided, one for each person. I believe that if you want an extra one it’s $ 1 extra for each additional fried fish. The staff members here were very nice and food was served swiftly. You can of course request the level of spiciness you want on your food. If you come here, you definitely have to come here for their tofu. I ordered the seafood tofu bowl and asked for less spicy and it came out well. Some others ordered super spicy and thought it wasn’t spicy enough, so it’ll depend on the cook/chef making your tofu bowl. I didn’t quite like the inconsistency of spicy vs mild. The seafood scallion pancake is really good as well. I’ll be back soon.

This is my go-to place with my family because we all love this place. Their servers are all very nice and kind. Their food is awesome really good, I’ve never been disappointed. I like to come for the lunch special because it is very affordable and the portions are very generous. I usually order the seafood soonubu combo with the spicy pork bulgogi. Everything is very tasty and delicious, so don’t worry, you won’t be disappointed! I also like all the mini appetizers they give too(free refills YAY)!!

— – About the service — — The waiters are nice and the busboys were very prompt in refilling water, tea, you name it. You’ll always get a friendly greeting going in to, and out of the store! — – About the food — — Probably the best soondubu you’ll get around queens! I’ve tried practically all of the different kinds. Seafood, beef, pork, curry, mushroom, dumpling. My favorite would have to be the mixed seafood and beef but they’re all spectacular! What makes this place unique is the fried fish that comes with the order, I don’t know any other Korean places that does this so that’s a plus. We also got the octopus pancake(was sure about the name) but it was delicious as well, it came with a nice, sweet soysauce dipping. Overall, nice food on a cold winter day, if you’re sick, or if you need a pick-me-up!

Gosh I either love Korean food so much or this place is really good. But I think living in center city Philly which lacks substantial Korean cuisine has made me appreciate authentic soon do bu. Even driving three hours to get here didn’t stop me from giving this place five stars. Got here around 6pm on a Saturday. Got lucky with parking as someone was leaving. As I walked in the restaurant I immediately noticed how crowded it was. I was attending a birthday party so I was directed to the private room downstairs. There was a good spread waiting for me. I was overwhelmed by the selection on the table. My friend had ordered the spicy octopus and galbi for everyone to share while we each got to order an entrée either a soon du bu or bibimbap. The octopus was five star delicious while the galbi was four stars. My favorite was the fried whole fish off the ban chan dishes. I’m always excited to see whole fish. It was delicious. I ordered the seafood soon du bu regular spicy level. And that was plenty spicy. I loved the oysters and clams in it although I wished they provided a little raw egg to go with it. Service was amazing and so accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed the feast here and wished that it was closer to get to because I would come back all the time. When the party ended closer to 8 pm, there were a ton of people waiting for a table.

Personally, I like Mr. Tofu further down Northern Boulevard better, but this place is solid. I love spicy tofu soup, and BCD does not disappoint. If you’re hungry, get one of the combos, which comes with a soup, and another dish(I usually get a meat one). The complimentary side dishes are good as well, they have pretty good kimchi, and each order comes with a small fried fish(need to de-bone yourself though).

Note: The following is a test of memory and credibility. Take it as you will. Post July 4th festivities, the day after the 4th to be exact, the J-team(myself, bro-sky JV, Ms. JG, and Tran… no J on the latter) found itself on the outskirts of Flushing/Bayside. Weak and weary not only from a two hour traversal from the Hamptons… but also from the the past 4 days worth of celebrating the independence of this flawed yet ultimately great nation, it was agreed that food was required. After the weekend we had, we needed something more than hamburgers and hot dogs. After watching Youtube videos of skinny Korean women eating copious amounts of food at one point or another during the long weekend, the J-team preemptively decided that a meal consisting of Korean food was to be the cuisine of choice(assuming that we all made it out of the Hamptons conscious and in one piece by holiday’s end). Upon our arrival, first thing we ordered: soju. I guess the mindset for the table was to nurse ourselves back to sobriety via hair of the dog, rather than by way of cold turkey techniques or a liquid cleanse; well advised strategy or not, it was certainly a fine pairing with the Korean beers(Hite or Cass… or did I just get a Heineken…) that we each partook of. Soon enough, a fine array of Banchan(small Korean sides, just so you know) made it’s way out. Good stuff, if I do say so myself. Some fried fish(never had that before) made it’s way out alongside with your standard pickles, kimchi-ed cabbage, kimchi-ed leeks, kimchi-ed radishes, and some broccoli(random, but welcome). The exclusion of a steamed egg or two bummed me out, but what can you do. Either way, you can never go wrong with a start such as this. Since it was lunch time, we selected from the lunch menu, where menu items came paired with a soondubu selection of your choice. More bang for your buck was a welcomed feature, and clearly one that the J-team took advantage of. Seafood soondubu pairings with beef and tofu bibimbap and an order of kalbi(barbecued beef short ribs) rounded out the lunch selection, and I don’t remember having to take a doggy bag home. The place is tough to get to sans vehicular locomotion, however, if you can find a friend with the means, there is a large parking lot that you can use at your pleasure. Definitely worth the visit(especially with the lunch deal in play).

Great service and food! Love their lunch specials. I think its a bargain compared to the BCD tofu in Manhattan — 33rd street. They have unlimited ban chan so dont be afraid to ask for more if the servers forget! The grilled bulgogi is awesome. The spicy pork with onions on a grill that we had was good but could have been hotter since the onions on the bottom didnt even cook. The tofu soup is always good here except sometimes the seafood(clams) have sand in them. It’s my go-to spot as it gets my SUPERFULL!!! I love the fried fish they give you as well. MUSTGO!
