Very unique restaurant that I learned about from the show diners drive ins and dives. Bayport BBQ was about a 40 minute drive from the Minneapolis area and located in a nice small town street. Very homey feel to the place. Felt like you were at a cabin somewhere up North. In the background you can see and hear them playing the video of when the show aired on Diners Drive In’s and Dives. We arrived on a Sunday around noon and were greeted kindly by what appeared to be owner of the place. You make your payment upfront, either cash or check.($ 15 a person) At the front there is also an assortment of beverages such as lemonade and iced tea. I had the lemonade, very good. After picking our seat and grabbing our beverage we were told to head to the kitchen and grab a plate to dish up. The assortment included cornbread, creamed corn, barbecue beans, cheesy potatoes, ribs, pulled pork, grilled chicken, sausages, and brisket. I tried everything except the chicken and barbecue beans, I figure this is a barbecue joint so when in Rome. The brisket was the star of the show. Juicy tender, yummy, smokey flavor. I was honestly stunned at how good the meats here were. My second favorite thing I had was the spicy sausage. They called it spicy but I would say it had a little kick, nonetheless great flavor. Everything had such great flavor and this was without any sauces. They do have sauces available but truly it was not needed. Once I devoured plate number one I was glad to know I could go back up for more. This truly made this place stand out. I have a huge appetite and to get all you can eat barbecue for $ 15 is a solid deal. All things considered, this is a great place to grab barbecue. Only complaint would be the distance but other than that the meal is well worth the price you pay. Great service and very nice environment. For Minnesota, this is a place to check out if you like barbecue.
