Great food, had the shrimp tacos and loved them! Staff was great and when I was finished with lunch, she brought me a free sample piece of pizza. Will definitely come back to this place.

Was there with a group of 13 and we had 2 different waitresses, well the one I had was not the friendliest I have ever had at least not to me. When the waitress was bringing the checks to us she didn’t have mine and I asked about it 3 times and never got it so I thought someone pick up and paid for me. When she finally realized I had not paid she brought it to me and acted like I was trying to skip out on it. The food was just ok. I ordered a muffuletta and the olive spread was non existent. If I didn’t know it was suppose to be a muffuletta then it might have been better. Probably will not go back.

Great place for food and friends, my favorite is the greek salad with grilled shrimp. Very healthy portion and lots of shrimp. Service is friendly and on island time.

Go to this place at least once a week. Love their food typically. But… Lots of places have good food. Tonight, Mother’s Day, some guy named Greg? Goes to seat us at a four person table, it was just my husband and I but we prefer a larger table, and this big lady dressed in black, later learned her name was Lisa, rushes over and makes us sit at a small table. She says the big tables are for larger parties? Well we order and are there for an hour, I think our waitress was Alex? She was not very good. I complained to her about Lisa and this dumb girl brings me a carnation like that will help? Jeez! Lisa is rude and we listened to her be obnoxious on the phone and with customers the entire hour we were there. The sad thing is I think she was even bossing the boss around. Lisa, you need to take lessons from the night staff because you suck! I mean I would fire you in a heartbeat. I give one star for the food. Think we will just take our business to the Baja cantina where we are ALWAYS treated with respect.

This is some of the best pizza we have had in a long time. Then crust and light on the sauce. Just the way we like it.

The fried catfish is horrible! They use chicken fried steak batter and the batter falls off the fish when you try to eat it. The fish was also greasy. Imagine eating boiled fish. .. that’s about what it was like.
Everybody knows you cook catfish in cornmeal batter.

They have fantastic pizza, and really enjoyed the blackened chicken alfredo. Usually always start with the mozzarella sticks, never disappointed.

I’ve been twice. Had a pasta special with a lobster cream sauce the first time and it was very impressive. Last night I had the Chicken Fried Chicken with Gravy, mashed potatoes and sautéed mixed vegetables — the best I’ve ever had. The batter on the chicken is perfect — crunchy and not at all greasy.
Friend had Thai Fried Chicken which was also very good. Another friend had the catfish special that was broiled and topped with shrimp and crabmeat and a hollandaise sauce and she was very pleased.
Restaurant is small and it can get loud in there but not really an issue.
The staff I encountered were nice.
Skip the chains and go here!

Food is good. I recommend the shrimp po boy! Slow service though. Bartender was kinda rude.

First time here and even though the food was good, the service from the bartender lady was awful. I can’t give them more than 3 stars. On top of that, this is just another restaurant I feel the prices are about $ 1 more than they should be.
Their advertising for 6.99 lunch specials on the menu is a joke… turns out they don’t have those anymore.
If you must come here, the chicken fried steak and muffaletta were both good. Mashed potatoes were homemade. French fries with sandwich were the breaded type and were frozen, but I know many people like this style of fries.
I don’t want to go into it with the bartender, but she basically gave up on taking our order and passed us off to the asian waitress after we apparently asked too many questions about their ambiguous menu and daily special board, which are not specials. by the way. $ 19.99 for lunch specials? Wow, are you kidding? you’re not gonna sell many of those during lunch hour.

Have been going to Bayou Bistro since it opened. The food is good, but the best Is the Philly Steak Sandwich. Miss the type of pizzas Ugo made when he had the restaurant so it is not fair to rate their pizza. It is a nice surprise to go to a place with the casual but nice atmosphere in Bayou Vista.

Love this close to home local spot. Good food lots of variety– the best pizzas around and a cool little happy hour. Had some wings they were spot on. They should do better with the wine selection with as many Italian foods on the menu

Food was great. Salads were fresh. Fettuccine Alfredo and Bayou pasta dish were good. No complaints. They were busy but we were greeted immediately and seated very quickly. Waitress was very friendly, they even found a coloring book for my youngest daughter. Definitely will be going back

Eaten here hundreds of times and food is great, atmosphere is laid back and relaxing and service is always with a smile. We will keep coming back and recommending to friends and strangers alike!

We love this place! Every meal we have tried we have loved. Great flavor and the ambiance is perfect.

This is a great little place. It is a rather small restaurant and off the beaten path. We especially like the chicken pot pie and recently my husband tried the étouffée and loved it. The desserts are wonderful as well. Coconut cream pie is one of my favorites. Its is clean, small and quaint little place that has good food. Service has never been bad for us either. I would recommend this place especially since a small, independent business and has been around for several years.

Good place, good food. However, the wait staff leaves a lot to be desired. They are rude, inattentive, judgemental, nasty, and generally unfriendly. They must all be IHOP/Denny’s/Wafflehouse rejects. Management, please address! In contrast, if you would like good food and good wait staff, go down the road to the Lazy Lizard. Not if you’re in a hurry, though.

Never had a meal I regretted or my body rejected. Always a great job on whatever you order. Heck, you might even get to see local radio celeb Suzi Hanks. Great place to have a cock tail or two with the wifey. Seared Ahi-​Tuna. good as well.

Excellent pizza and étouffée!!! Small restaurant, so be prepared for a wait on weekend. Recommend!

Run of the mill Italian food. Chicken Permesan, Spaghetti and meatballs, Alfredo Fettuccini, etc. Also they serve some fairly good pizzas with a handful of interesting styles available.
If you’re in the surrounding communities and dont want to drive across the bridge or to Clear Lake for Italian, this is your best bet.
Service was very good and prompt, which was a nice change from the Lazy Lizard’s, lazy service, down the road.
