Kumon Math and Reading Center of Bayonne

My 6.5 year old son has been attending Kumon for the past year. When he began Kumon he was unable to read, even «sight words» taught at school. He had just ended Kindergarten & I was very concerned that he would quickly fall behind when he entered 1^st Grade that upcoming Fall. I looked at several reading/​math programs in our area, but chose Kumon due to the many positive recommendations I received from other people.
My son began Kumon & within the first month he was reading short sentences easily. Over the past year he has become an advanced & confident reader, moving up many levels at Kumon, and now works independently. His teachers in 1^st grade have been amazed by his progress, and have moved him from Easy Reader books to more advanced chapter books. I have also found the teachers and administrator at Kumon to be extremely supportive, cooperative, and hands-​on in helping both my son & our family understand and maximize the benefits of the Kumon program. Most importantly, my son has developed an increased level of confidence in reading, which has helped him with other subjects as well. This has led him to enjoy going to school, and to participate more fully in the classroom. He is happy, energized, and looks forward to going to school each day.
I have told everyone I know with children from preschool on up, as well as the teachers, educators, and administrators that I am in contact with about the amazing results we have achieved with Kumon. I would highly recommend this program to anyone seeking to help their child improve their skills in reading and/​or math, or increase their performance level in these subjects.
