Café Bello

Unexpectedly awesome place for brick oven pizza in Bayonne. I am wondering why didn’t I found this place earlier, staff was very friendly and food was quite reasonable. loved it

The pizza is so delicious. My husband had steak and it was great. We love it. The best brick over pizza in Bayonne.

Bruschetta… Then my wife and I both had shrimp parmesan (Was incredible!!). Then of course had to have desert… Tiramisu And lemon tart… We will be back!

We just moved in Bayonne and we’re constantly searching for a good restaurant with nice ambiance within the neighborhood.
Since it was my birthday last week, we decided to spend it here in Café Bello and the place and food did not disappoint! It was welcoming and the food was amazing. 2 of us ordered fillet mignon, 1 ordered the veal, parents ordered salmon — everyone was satisfied! Then we ordered tea, coffee and desserts– cannoli (it was too sweet for our taste) and tiramisu (it was ok).
As soon as we stepped out, my husband told me «We’re definitely going back here!» Guess he read my mind

Went here last week, the pizza was amazing.
All in all the food was very good. Staff was friendly.
Good neighborhood place. Atmosphere was nice and lively.
Not bad.

There are so many great things to say about this restaurant but I know that I only have limited space. I have been coming here with my mother and father at least once a week for the past 4 years. I live on Long Island and we have excellent restaurants here and I have to say that Café Bello can compete with ANY of them.
First off they treat you like royalty… always happy to see you. Jimmy is always gracious and Gus and Lorenzo are the best servers ever! They remember your name and your cocktail!
The food is always freshly prepared and they have an excellent menu with a good variety of dishes. They have specials everyday and they are written down so you don’t have to remember them. Awesome bc my dad, at 86, has memory problems.
Bread is homemade and and their sauce is divine. Fresh and bright with with just the right amount of acidity. perfect for dunking the garlic bread and fluffy focaccia. .
They don’t rush you which I really appreciate. .
Overall an amazing gem in Bayonne where you just don’t find restaurants like this one!
My only complaint is that Café Bello isn’t located on Long Island!

The food was great and the people very friendly, we felt like we was at home.

Quaint establishment with delicious Italian food. Seems to be very popular with the locals, but the tables are a bit too close for my liking. It has more of a family appeal than romantic/​date night but still 4 stars.

I absolutely love Café Bello. It’s the only restaurant I go to in Bayonne because of the excellent cuisine, décor and class A service. There is an older Italian gentleman I look forward to seeing when I visit with my boyfriend. I often joke that the day I don’t see him, I will stop coming. This restaurant it total class across the board. I highly recommend their shrimp scampi and white Sangria. The only negative are some of the loud customers.

Their bread and pasta are really tasty and the service is always on point. The best dish would have to be the involtini always delicious!

Café Bello is by far the best Italian restaurant in Bayonne. The vodka rigatoni was my go to, always delicious. Also liked their garlic bread and pizza bread to start, it’s served with a dish of their homemade marinara sauce. It can get pretty crowded and since its small, it can get really noisy. Definitely more neighborhood family oriented– I wouldn’t suggest it for a romantic dinner.

I haven’t been here in some time, but was immediately reminded of why love this place upon entering the room. The maître d’ remembered me after such a long time. I was thoroughly impressed! We were here for lunch during a week I was dieting, but I managed to eat clean. I started with a bowl of Pasta e Fagioli, but avoided the bread somewhat, and the filet of sole over spinach and veggies. All this with a bottle of their house cab, Menage à Trois Wines, and finally a single shot of espresso. I’m coming back soon, promise!

Nice little family owned Italian restaurant in the hart of Bayonne. Try the portobello mushroom it’s the absolute best.

I’m a lifelong resident of Bayonne and have NEVER been into Café Bello before this weekend. My fiancé & I were heading out to the movies the day after Christmas and we were hungry. I threw out a few suggestions and Café Bello was one of them. I’m ever so glad we decided to try it out! So, we went in for a late lunch. It was about 2:00 so, thankfully, it wasn’t very busy or loud. I had chicken francaise which was PERFECT and he ordered pasta with red clam sauce. I loved my chicken and he loved his clams. After we finished our entrees, we both got a piece of cake for dessert and I got a cappuccino. OH MY GOD WAS THAT CAPPUCCINO GOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! Orgasmic really. I’ve had it before from other places, but this was out of this world! Needless to say, we’ll be going back. I hear the pizza is really good! And I can get another cappuccino! :D

Had a lovely dinner at Café Bello… We were a party of 10 and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious… Had the Calamari, Mussels and Carpaccio for appetizers, all terrific! For entrees, we had the Branzino special… Very fresh… For pastas, we tried the Orecchiette, the Carbonara, the Pappardelle, al Porcini, the Shrimp and Scallop pasta, Linguini alle Vongole and the Bucatini alla Bolognese… Again, everyone loved their entrees… Portions were very generous. Tried the Napoleon for dessert and again was very pleased. Service was excellent! Will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed this place. I’ve only been there twice but both times were great :) they were very sweet and accommodating with no fuss

Nice intimate dining experience, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and good food. The bar is a nice place to grab a drink or meet friends. Been here often, never had a bad experience.

My fiancé and I come here all the time! Absolutely delicious food. We always get clams in white sauce and their vodka sauce is delicious!!! One of our favorite restaurants.

Best service and Italian food in Bayonne. Daily specials are incredible, try their filet mignon, you won’t be disappointed. Clams and penne vodka are great too. Restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance really adds to the meal.

Absolutely delicious. I ordered a breaded chicken that came with an arugula salad and mashed potatoes. Topped it off with a sangria. Very classy ambience as well.

To have great food and equally great staff has me sold! This place has the best pizza.

Thanks to Unilocal I found this place since I only come around here to get gasoline. This restaurant is very cozy and has a great vibe. There were plenty of people at the bar eating and drinking.
I love good service and they were on point here. I love how they give you warm bread with marinara sauce to start. I got a Caesar salad as an appetizer and I wasn’t impressed, it sort of tasted like the kind you get at the supermarket. As my entrée I had the chicken stuffed with prosciutto and spinach and it was pretty good. My favorite dinner companion had clams over pasta in red sauce and it was better than my dish.
Overall the food was very good and I found it very affordable, next time I will try the brick oven pizza.

We have been here several times and enjoy it. It isn’t the best italian food we’ve had, but it’s pretty good. Nice bar area — kind of get the feeling everyone at the bar knows every one else. Not overly loud in the dining area which is a plus and people come back often because the waiters stop and chat with the regulars so that’s always a good sign.
The mussels are delicious so don’t eat all the bread until you have a chance to dip in that sauce. Also like the Pollo alla Giardiniera, the Orecchiette con Salsiccia e Broccoli and the Filetto di Sogliola. Portions are fair, pricing is decent but not a steal. Not a BYOB so factor that in.
Street parking is usually not to hard to find in the area.

Why haven’t I been here sooner! I’ve been living in Bayonne for almost 10 years. Hands down the best penne vodka I’ve ever had! I don’t normally write reviews but I just have to. If you want Italian food come here! We also had the octopus ceviche which was only $ 12. Bite size pieces of octopus and quite a lot of it. Could’ve spent at least $ 15 for that amount in other places. My fiancé had the halibut which was amazing also.
Please do yourself a favor and come dine here ASAP.
