I ordered my table pads after a conversation with a knowledgeable and personable employee. The price was surprisingly low, just a bit more than I paid for previous pads, 35 years ago. And Pioneer’s quality is much higher. We received our pads on schedule.

The product is not represented properly on the literature the company provides, and they will not honor the lifetime guarantee. The literature says that heat in excess of 550 degrees could damage both the pad and the table. From that, one would logically derive that it can withstand lesser heat without any damage. This is untrue, and when I called the company and spoke with the manager, not only did the manager refuse to replace the pad, but he was, in fact, extremely rude. I do not recommend Pioneer Table Pad Co. at all!

This is a small and locally owned table pad company that specializes in custom table pads. My husband procured an antique dining table a year or so ago that was dated from WWII France with an exquisite Q-Bert style inlay. Each piece was intricately designed and hand crafted. We were in search of a company to make a sturdy and reliable pad to protect this heirloom for generations to come. After some diligent internet searching, I happened upon Pioneer. Their website gives you the option of sending for an information packet and order form. My packet came a week or so after I submitted my request and we were off to the races. The packet came with a ton of information, a brochure, order form and a huge template for my custom order. I called and spoke with one of the owners prior to sending in my template and he provided a very detailed explanation as to how to make the template, given that there are no straight or square corners on my table. I sent in my package and waited. A week or so later I received a call from Pioneer(a older lady in the office), explaining that as a company they take vacations during the summer and would take a little longer to make my pad. I appreciated this call, but was a little confused at the time. Apparently they have a very small staff and each piece is hand made! I told her to continue with my order and she promised I would have it within 6 weeks. True to her promise, my pad arrived exactly as quoted. The only negative I can add is that you have to give them your credit card number and pay up front sight unseen. This made me a little nervous, especially with the extended time frame. It took a lot of faith. These custom table pads are not inexpensive, but are very well made. Another example of «you get what you pay for». My pad came in 2 pieces with a locking mechanism, beautiful felt and the top is gorgeous. We simply could not be happier. The pad does not slide around on my table at ALL, came with a LIFETIME warranty and FITS…“like a glove”. I am thrilled! This was money well spent on something that will protect this gorgeous piece of furniture for my grandchildren and their children… one day.
