The ice cream is great, but the snotty girl behind the counter ruined the experience. I ordered 3 different cups for myself and my family, and she handed me a flavor that I didn’t order. I politely told her that wasn’t the one I ordered, and the correct flavor, and she then gave me a dirty look, argued with her coworker who had been working the register, and begrudgingly went and scooped the right flavor. She then tossed the cup at me in annoyance, and it was WAY underscooped compared to the scoop my niece and husband each got. She needs to grow up, learn proper customer service, and recognize when she makes a mistake that it is not the fault of the customer. Absolutely despicable.

This place is in a really cool location and it’s delicious, of course. The little store front is super cute and you really feel like you’re having a perfect old fashioned relaxing day by the water when you walk up to the counter to get your sweet treat. When we came, there were people everywhere and the line never seemed to go down. I got a massive and fantastic root beer float and we sat down to enjoy some wonderful fresh air, the view and do some people watching. It was perfect. Mitchell’s is good and even though I’m slightly ashamed to say it, I’ve bought into the craft ice cream scene. I like ice cream, but I love weird ice cream. Mitchell’s is good at toeing that line – they have classic flavors as well as some«weird» ones and they’re all good, without offensively overshooting the exotic. The service here was great. Everyone was eager to help(that could have just been the desire to get the line down) and very polite and nice. I walked away and completely forgot how long we had waited in line and could just enjoy the whole experience.

Oooooh noooo! Honey Hut is gone! They were replaced by Mitchell’s. I guess if Honey hut had to leave, Mitchell’s is a good enough replacement. Still, Honey Hut ice cream had such a distinctive, wonderful flavor. At least the beautiful view remains the same.

Oh, my — so very yum! Lived up to its billing, and it’s by the beach to boot. Had the choco PB and honey pecan. Utterly utterly fabulous. Or maybe that’s udderly fabulous, since it is a dairy product… And then there’s the bargain-basement pricing. Wowzah.

I like the fact that they always give you a large amount of icecream on a cone. The food there is good to eat after a long day at the beach on a summer day.

Butter Pecan, or Orange Blossom? Butter Pecan, or Orange Blossom? Butter Pecan, or Orange Blossom? Butter Pecan, or Orange Blossom? Ahh heck… I’ll just go twice in one day… It is THAT good. The butter pecan is very buttery and rich, the orange blossom is like an icecream version of a Ramos Ginn Fizz. The beach is pretty OK too. Not as many«beach whistles» on the shore as Edgewater.
