I moved to NYC so I could live near a corner bodega like this one — though for the first 20 years here, I lived in neighborhoods that were either too run down or too snooty to harbor a gem like this place. They have everything(but meat — which you can get at Bayroot down the street), but the fruit selection here is so good and so affordable — great selection of staples and my favorite brand of pasta. It’s like I don’t actually need a pantry — I just hit this place on the way home.

I wouldn’t believe that a place like this existed in NYC. I’ve been living here in Bayridge for 1 year and pineapple farm has been my primary groceries shopping place. But, the reason why I love it so much is because of its employees. Umar and the other guy make my girlfriend and I feel like we are in a very small community some where upstate NY where everyone knows everyone. They are both very nice and take customer’s requests and comments into consideration, which is always good to better the shopping experience.

Awesome fruit stand on 5th avenue that I have purchased many items before. Just last nite on my way to the bank I saw some fresh fennel. That may not be a big deal to some people but I love fennel. And the price was great 2 /$ 3.00 which was way cheaper then the farmers market. They have plenty of choices of egg plant, tomatos, apples and other assorted fruits. With a great selection inside of juices and nuts. I will be back more often cause I love fennel… oohhh its so good with a light licorice taste. Mmmmm I love the frond of the fennel which is great diced in some scrambled eggs. The prices are really decent here and the selection wide and far.

Hours are fantastic. Usually come here for our fruits and veggies as they have a good variety and are kept pretty fresh. Often will have good nuts and a few select middle eastern items. Also, my go-to place for flowers– great selection, affordable, pretty.

What a great little market. I used to come here just for the produce but after taking a little gander at the rest of the market I realized they have a rather large selection of products crammed into this tiny little space. Pasta, tea, sweets, honeys, dairy, etc. and it is all priced much lower than at other late night vegetable stands. They also carry a lot of gourmet chocolate and the one that I love(chocolove) as well as Turkish and middle eastern baked goods. The staff is all very helpful.

This is a the best market/fruit and veggie stand in Bay Ridge. It is GREAT. The fruits and vegetables are always good quality. There is a great selection and the prices are not bad. Im pretty sure its open 24 hours. You need a watermelon or a banana at 1 am? They have you covered.
