I usually have to have several bad experiences or one great experience before I Unilocal a place… Pro’s: The savings are great. Also there started to get some nice name brand clothing for cheap Con’s: Theres always a security guard for some reason that feels its perfectly acceptable to tell you how«good you look». Could benefit from a sexual harrasment course at orientation! Furthermore theres always a guy from the neighboorhood to follow you around the store and tell you how much he loves you :\ Ladies wear headphones at ALLTIMES. They also like to close up early ahead of scheduled closing. I dont like reading people but Ive had to a few times in here

The ‘D II’ line of discount stores in Brooklyn are really the flagship of Brooklyn’s armada of economy-conscious shopping emporiums. And this particular store(located in the throbbing, tawny *heart* of ‘the Casbah’ 5th ave arab-quarter in Bay Ridge) is really the flagship of .er.the flagships. Why? Well for one thing, it is much larger than any of the typical, tired, two-bit, rinky-dink, bodega-size 99-cent stores which run up-and-down every block in the city. It almost looks like an *actual* department store; rather than a place to buy weed. BIG gaudy signage out front, you can’t miss it. It has its own security guard. It has retina-popping florescent lighting. The aisles are narrow, but clean. And it is a true discount store, unlike ‘Century 21′ nearby. Its even better than a Rite-Aid. Every time you go into a Rite-Aid, expect to spend $ 60. You go in here — go inside ‘D II’(no idea what the acronym means) and you truly will only spend $ 7. And you walk out with armloads of goods. Its mostly clothes inside(teen girl clothes) but there are bathroom, kitchen, and housewares sections. Low, low lower-than-low pricing. No bait-n-switch. In the front window you can always find things like: a full set of rolling luggage and a fondue-maker! Shaving gear and lawn chairs! Coffee-makers and home beer-brewing kits! Baby paraphernalia and roach repellant! Jewelry and golf-carts! But yeah it is mainly clothes which drive the sales here. Probably 1⁄3rd of Bay Ridge’s females shops here because its cheap and convenient. Old or young. Age 8 – 80. Constant stream of keffiyeh-draped girls stream through the door. They are always re-stocking up on ‘basics’. They know what-time-it-is. D-II time. But guys, DII is a bachelor’s friend as well. When you’re low on fresh laundry just swing through and you can restock all your underwear and socks for $ 9. Cheaper than paying for wash. For example, one week I bought 5 t-shirts, 2 collar shirts, 1 sweatpants, 1 gym shorts, 1 pak of tube socks and 1 pak of Hanes boxers. $ 25! The only thing I have to drop a star for is the music here. Its strictly the worst top40 radio station in New York, whatever it is they must have the tuner locked on because all you hear is corny, ghetto, hip-hop, kindergarten-age rap rhyming. Headphones are a MUST during trips to this store. Also: NO snagging dates with the cute, fluff-brained girl staffers either. They only date their own! All in all, its just like the sign says: deals and discounts. A reliable resource for low-budget shopping.
