Growing up in Bay City, I’ve often taken this place for granted. It truly is a very wholesome, family-owned small business with a huge selection of treats to satisfy most(if not all) sweet teeth. They offer the traditional candies you’d expect from any candy store: taffy, jelly beans, candy cigarettes, lollipops., etc. They also make all of their famous chocolates and roasted nuts in house, and they have rich flavors that you can tell are handmade. You can get party trays made or have gift baskets put together for parties and gift giving. The staff is always helpful and quick. It’s a staple to downtown Bay City for sure.

Every time I go here there is great customer service. They are prompt to get treats out of the bins and very friendly as well. Lots of things to choose from.

My husband is a driver ed teacher, and sometimes has students drive through Bay City’s downtown. This shop is a break time/switch-drivers stop for them, one the kids just love. He tells them ahead of time so they bring money, and you can find them in the summer, outside with yummy ice cream cones. Hubby often brings me treats from these trips, like the bags of french mints, or yesterday’s treat, seafoam. O.M.G. Wonderful! Their seafoam is really the best around, with pieces all about the same size, thick creamy milk chocolate on the outside, and melt in your mouth foam inside. Their foam never has the hard or chewy parts, just melting foam. I think I need another bag.

Great place for all ages! Parents, grandparents, children, or even a 1st date. This is definitely one of those original old school candy stores. There’s rumors that Madonna has even shopped here. They sell the best bulk chocolate if you want to make your own chocolate covered strawberries or chocolate covered pretzels. In the summertime this is a great place to get an ice cream cone and then walk down by the river. Candy prices are a little bit higher than normal but you’re paying for quality. Anything chocolate covered is about $ 16/lb and best way to shop is just get a few pieces of each item, keep in mind about 10 pieces equals a pound.

YUM f*&$-ing YUM. Bought a half pound of chocolate covered toffee pretzels to munch on and ended up mauling the bag and almost eating all of them. Lots of candy in here. There is also ice-cream. Nuts. Sesame sticks. Candy you can mix up and put in a bag(which we also did). What a cute little place.

I love St. Laurent Brothers. One of the best business’ in the downtown area. They have a large assortment of candy and it really makes you feel like you are taking a trip back in time. It’s always a great place to visit.

Haven’t been to The Nut House since I was a teenager back in the 60’s. But still remember the wonderful aroma of fresh, roasted nuts. It was truly mouth watering. My dad would always make it a destination(and a way to control our whining) when he’d take us to Bay City on business. The thought of walking into that magical store would shut us up for… well…at least an hour! :)

This place is AMAZING, with just a hint of 50’s to 70’s larger scale dime store candy store that also offers a wide range of nuts and delicious dried fruits. Sadly, we’ve recently moved, but our last place was within walking distance and I dearly miss being so close. I can still remember the custom nut and dried fruit trail mix they were kind enough to help me with. It was hands down THEBEST we’d ever had!

Cool, retro candy store. Makes you feel like you are taking a step back in time when you walk through the front door. Really gives authenticity to the saying, «Feeling like a kid in a candy store». Have been here many times, and it is always a stop for us when we are walking around the east side of Bay City. Also, there is a nice little park next to the store that overlooks the river. A good place to sit down on a nice day. Our kids always look forward to a visit here!

Great place for just about any kind of candy or nuts and ice cream. Some candies that you probably haven’t seen since you were a kid. Always fresh. Peanuts and home made peanut butter. Always friendly staff. And the owner makes appearance almost daily. Candy made downstairs. I’ve been coming to this establishment for about 30 years. Sometimes twice a week. Always have been pleased. You can walk outside and eat your ice cream or just view the water and some watercraft. If you are lucky, you may see a ship or two pass through the river. There are seats for your viewing. Or you could stroll down town at the many antique shops and a few restaurants.

If you love candy, this is the place to go. Locals call this«the Nut House». You’ll find all kinds of nuts and candy you purchase by the pound and bagged candy you haven’t see in years. We love the old fashion orange slices. St. Laurent’s is downtown on the east side of the river. Antique and other shops nearby.

I have to say, I’m «NUTS» over this place! They have so much great stuff! Too bad I can’t visit more often, but my waistline would disagree. I only took off a star because they are often out of my favorite thing, the fruit slices. Hopefully they have them on my next visit!

An old fashioned type of candy shop with really inexpensive packages of classic candy from drops in flavors like Horehound(and the usual lemon) and gummy candies in every shape and flavor. They have the old penny candy(10 cents now) and they also have an encased selection of chocolate covered stuff(pretzels and etc). And then there’s the Jelly Belly and M&M dispenser. You won’t find everything here but its pretty decent to cater to your sweet tooth needs.

After browsing St. Laurent Brothers’ broad, unique, and classic assortment of homemade and commercial candies it’s very difficult to leave without buying at least a little something. Their selection varies by season, so be sure to check them out during cooler months when they are making sea foam(my personal favorite). Their location makes them a great place to stop during a walking tour of the downtown antique centers and other quaint shops. Truly outstanding confections, nuts, and treats have made them a favorite of Bay City locals and visitors alike.

St. Laurent Brothers has been around forever(since 1904!) and still has homemade chocolates, like peanut butter cups, caramels, toffee crunch, nut clusters and more. They are so good! I haven’t lived in Bay City for several years but I always take a trip to the«Nut House» when I go home, and my parents send me chocolates from there sometimes. They have gimmicky fad candy, too, but stick to the old fashioned good stuff made by the store. They also have great candy in bags, like Boston baked beans and mints. I love St. Laurent Brothers for giving me memories since I was a little kid!
