What a jewel restaurant! Craig you were the best in making our Mom’s 80th birthday celebration first class. We were free to create a magical evening for 30 people in our family with great fun, laughter and tears! Then to follow it up with fabulous food and great foodie tips! I cannot wait to visit again

Just went here for the first time for lunch. Since it was buy one roll, get one free, I figured there was minimal investment. The good: for 16 pieces of sushi, $ 6.00 is a great price! The service was very friendly and welcoming. The flavor of the sushi was fairly fresh and true to what you would expect. The décor is not too bad on the eyes: spring green walls, wood furniture, Japanese decorations, etc. The not-so-good: I tried calling 5 times to place an order because the phone line was busy constantly, yet when I went inside, the place was dead. The sushi was very bare-bones: fish, rice, seaweed, and sauce. I would have liked veggies such as avocado or cucumber, but I suppose since its BOGO, the extras aren’t included. Also, it was cash only today, but I hope it isn’t like that for dinner! I’ll have to try again and update!

Excellent! Fabulous! Amazing! If you love great food,(especially sushi), this is the place for you! The flavors are intense, presentation is gorgeous, and Chef Craig and his staff are warm and inviting! It is hands down our favorite place in Bay City!

The rolls here are about ½ the size I’m used to seeing when I go to a real sushi place. They charge $ 10 for shrimp tempura roll here and they are like $ 5 in Novi. Did not see an option for seaweed on the outside of the roll or fish eggs or low sodium soy sauce. I wasn’t offered any free hot tea and that’s normal anywhere else. Also no scallop rolls which are one of my favorites. Not really sure why it takes forever for them to make the rolls… I’m used to seeing 4 rolls made in like 2 minutes or less. This guy puts on his chalk board that he isn’t fast food. I never really considered any other sushi place fast food but thanks for pointing that out. If you’re in a hurry to catch a movie in 30 minutes, this isn’t the place to go for that because it will take that long just to get drinks. For 2 people it’s going to cost about $ 45 w/tip.

Best sushi in Mid-Michigan. Well worth a stop if you are in Bay City and enjoy sushi, but call ahead for reservations on Thursday and Friday evenings. Not open everyday so visit their website for their hours. Has an awesome deal on Tuesdays for takeout orders only.

WARNING: This review is a bit bias. I am dating a guy whose mom works here. I had heard good things about this place, but I knew they kept strange hours, so I never really went out of my way to go. Well. Warning #2: Make sure you make a reservation. Because he is only open two days a week(he caters), it gets pretty busy. On Thursdays, the dinner menu is somewhat slim, but there are some really good choices. I’m not sure if it was just Thursdays, but it was all you can eat sushi rolls. I asked boyfriend, «Soooo…I can mix em up and try them all?» To which he replied, «Yep. But you have to eat them all, they don’t do to go boxes.» This girl was still happy. I ate three rolls. With the all you can eat sushi, they serve a really good miso soup and also a little appetizer tray that had a really delicious piece of chicken, some pickled cucumber slices, edamane, greens and noodles. I definitely walked out quite full. I had a chance to meet and talk to all of the waitresses. They were all very sweet. Met the owner, Craig. He was a nice guy too. Cute little place, nice place to take a first date to!

Amazing sushi. Great experience. Unique restaurant. Not super speedy on service and had a mistake twice on my order(hence 4star), but they make up for it in quality. The Thursday all you can eat is amazing. They need more room, more staff, and more seats. Make sure you get reservations early. Can’t wait to go again.

Did not get to actually eat there so this is not based on their food but in their customer service. Called ahead and asked if there was a wait. The worker said no but the tables were full so there would be a short wait. We went there and they asked for our reservation name. I was not told I needed on. The worker made it seem like if we came now and waited we could be seated next. Just like every other restaurant. Then the woman when we got there acted like we were weird for not having a reservation. Rude service and uneducated workers answering the phone. I would like to try the food sometime so will try to put this aside.

The sushi is medium quality… and VERY small. The owner is stingy. I asked for more eel sauce and got denied!!! I couldn’t believe it. I’m from New Orleans, and the sushi there is outstanding! Fusion One is for the desperate. Service is horrible too. Obviously someone’s relative. I’ve been here many times… two thumbs down! Sushi from a white man, PA-LEASE!

I ordered lunch from here recently and was mildly disappointed. The miso soup was very good and a large portion, but could have used a little more tofu because there was only one small piece. I ordered the log jam salad without chicken or bacon, and was hoping that there would be at least a moderately large amount veggies to make up for the lack of meat, considering the price of the salad has been raised up towards the $ 9 range. My hopes were misplaced. The salad had 3 slices of cucumber, 3 small piece of avocado and three medium sized pieces of tomato. There was an adequate amount of gorgonzola cheese and the dressing was tasty, but it was basically a minimal amount of lettuce and veggies underneath. Maybe the dinner is better, but I doubt I’ll be back for lunch.

Five star in tri city area. This tiny restaurant in bay city doesn’t open every day, but they are known for their all you can eat sushi. Their sushi is simple but very good. Even the vegetarian rolls are very special. The all you can eat sushi also comes with miso soup and a noodle salad. I should emphasize their miso soup is much more authentic than other japanese /asian restaurant in midland-saginaw-bay city(eg, genji in midland, hello sushi in saginaw). I will say they have the best sushi and miso soup in the tri-city area. Make sure you make a reservation for sushi. Fusion one also has a very good banana foster dessert. It is made to order.
