My sister’s birthday is coming real soon. Ugh… what to get her without having to go shopping? Maybe the internet? Nah? I would end up paying a fortune in shipping fees to get something here in time. Let’s see what’s close by? Don’t let anyone tell you that men don’t like to shop! Put any man in a electronics store, video store, outdoor store, or lingerie store and all of a sudden a guy can stay there for hours. Its all about what were shopping for or looking at that makes the difference. For me I’m a list shopper for the most part. Write it down, find it, get it, and get out. I have so many other things I would rather be doing than wasting time looking around a store trying to find the perfect gift. Convenience is key. So as my sisters birthday quickly approaches, and with no idea what to put on my «list», I wandered next door to my office into Distinctively Home for a quick look around. Well, no electronics, no videos, no outdoor gear and especially no lingerie, however the place still caught my attention long enough to take sometime and look around. I am actually amazed at the amount of product that is displayed in this store considering that its very open and has lots of walking room. I was greeted by what is an already remodeled showroom even though the store is only a few years old. The showroom is light and bright, and I mean bright, with lots of colorful walls and displays. This is by no means an all modern home décor store though. Its full of traditional, and themed displays with everything from Asian to country and they have a pretty cool area with lots of wine themed items. I think the theme here is décor, however there is quite a few pieces of furniture available as well. I have not been in the furniture market for quite a few years, but the prices seem reasonable compared to what I remember paying for my new home stuff. The accessories on the other hand seem even more reasonable and I would compare them in price to say a Target store or less in price, with a lot more quality and selection. Lets see… pictures, frames, art, statues, lamps, clocks, vases, plates, signs, figures, candles, pillows, mirrors, some yard and garden stuff like trellises, and ummmmmm yeah a lot of stuff I cant begin to remember. I found a few cool little items that will be sure to surprise my sister. I would tell you about them but its a secret and if I told you… I would have to kill you. Good prices, friendly staff, lots of options, the convenience was perfect for me, and I was out of there faster than you can say lingerie without breaking my budget. Not bad considering that I am supposed to hate shopping!
