I’m not going to lie, this place is pretty bad. I have been here twice, and both time I had terrible service. I was there during the times that it should have been lunch or dinner rush and the place was nearly empty. The food is nothing to write home about, mediocre to bad at best.

One of the best places in B.C. to watch a game. They have a nice long bar with big HD screens everywhere you look. Daily appetizer specials, drink specials, etc. Great bar food. The staff and bartenders are the best. Every now and then the owner comes out and shoots the breeze with the customers. It’s that type of place. Highly recommended.

Today was not a good day for the Moonraker. I tried the beef cheese chimichanga and the beef was over salted to the point where I could not eat it. I did enjoy the chips, the rice and beans. The atmosphere was nice and cozy all the TVs were playing games. The volume on the TV was turned up for the Detroit Tigers game. It was quite enough so you could hear the person talking to you across the table or next to you without having to speak loud. Food was served to us in a timely manner and drinks were promptly refilled and staff was courteous. Great service, not so good on the food today.

Don’t waste your time and money. I’m sure this place is owned by nice, hard working people but there is nothing special about the food, service or place. Burger and fries were average to poor. Cheese they put on the burger was dried out and hard from too much air exposure but they used it any way hoping it would melt to save a dime. That is what we are dealing with here I believe: cheap ingredients and cutting corners to max profits. Hardly anyone in the joint so they probably are forced to cut corners to prevent going bankrupt. Too bad but this ain’t the old school lounge of old you are hoping for. … I won’t return again. This review from 3-19-2015 that was deleted for some reason.

haven’t lived in BC for over 30 years. walked in and sat at this very nice bar. had the lunch special the prime rib sandwich and fries was really really good… and I’d order again(someone had a takeout of 4 of them while I was there) … making my mouth water just thinking about it. lots of beer choices and plenty of TV’s to watch numerous games. if i lived in BC I would recommend this place for any sporting event. was cool and fun. lastly, the bar tender was very, very nice and social.

I have been meaning to stop at Moonraker ever since I have been doing the drive from Chicago to Detroit bi-weekly this year. I imagined a wonderful, space-inspired backdrop, tacky 60s motif and old-fashioned drinks with astronauts hanging out at the bar. And maybe I’ve seen«The Right Stuff» too many times. But instead it’s a sports bar. And that’s just alright by me. 24 beers on tap, including the coldest cider I’ve ever had. A very delicious olive burger. Although I like me a messy burger, this one was well put together and not at all fat-tasting — seems like a good patty went into this one. And all for $ 20 with tip. Cannot complain at all. I did end up driving through on a Sunday afternoon so I was the only one in there for a while. Well, me and about a dozen TVs. But everyone I encountered was friendly. They even have a cute little patio that overlooks the parking lot.

GFS(Gordons Food Service) at it’s mediocre finest. Processed and frozen appetizers and entrees. Nothing special or unique about the food or the selection. Eye candy on the wait staff makes this place almost bearable… Almost. If you want to hear how great the M/R establishments are, engage the owner in conversation. He’ll be happy to tell you.

When I walked into MR I was impressed. The food was good, but our portions were little to be desired. We had a $ 50 meal and our kids were still hungry when we left. Our most expensive dinner was on the smallest plate. Our waitress didn’t seem overly thrilled to wait on us. She took off before we could answer her question. Not worth the tip I left(15%). I think for that price dinner they could have tried a little harder on portion size and presentation.

Very nice restaurant and sports bar, with good service. Traditional American food. Many flat screen TV’s in the bar area. Sports are always on the tube. They also have a nice outdoor patio. There is a dining room that can be closed off and away from the bar. It is also good for groups. 24 beers on tap. Many microibrews for the tasting. They have great peanuts available to salt your taste. I like to get the French Dip sandwich with fries. The bun is nice and soft, and the beef very tender. I did not like the burger at first, but the second time it was great. Lightly dusted and toasted bun and cooked just perfect. The burger toppings were fresh, and delicious. I ordered it with pepper-jack and American cheese. Overall, the Moonraker West is a good choice for cocktails and food on Columbia Ave. in Battle Creek.
