This place is hidden behind another building, but trust your GPS and you will find it.
It’s a party store, so it carries booze and lots of it.
They have a fantastic selection of craft brews. I originally came here looking for Dark Horse brews, but they didn’t have anything that I couldn’t find at home in Illinois. What they did have was many varieties of Short’s. I had never had it, but had heard great things, so I bought several sixers.
The prices here in Battle Creek, Michigan were comparable to what I pay in Chicagoland. I thought they would be a little cheaper. In addition, when you are from out of state, you end up paying the «deposit tax» of 10 cents per bottle unless you save them and bring them back on a subsequent trip. This factored into my choices of which beers to buy.
One odd thing was that cell phone service was non-​existent in this place. I wanted to use my phone to look up some beers that I had not heard of and I couldn’t get any kind of signal. I mentioned this to the clerk and he acknowledged the problem saying that he had to go outside to use his phone. He suspected it was the metal framed roof.
This same clerk even helped my carry my beer to the car since I had purchased several cases.
So, if you are in the mood for a «party», then Mega-​Bev has got the beer covered.
(They have liquor and wine too, I just didn’t shop that part of the store.
