Zanella’s Wax Bar

The atmosphere and ambience was pleasant but overall, this wasn’t a great experience. I’ve had a full Brazilian wax before so this wasn’t my first time, although it was my first time here. With the first application of the wax, I thought it was really warm – too warm. So I told my waxer that I thought the wax was hot. She replied, «I think you’re just too sensitive,» as she applied more hot wax. I jumped with every application of the wax, and actually didn’t even let her finish. She still charged me the full amount though. As I drove home, I was literally throbbing down there and had to stop at the pharmacy and get some aloe vera gel to stop the pain. Not sure I’ll go back.

I’ve been coming here to get services for over a year now. Their services are always consistent. My preferred person is Trudy who is absolutely amazing! She is always timely and efficient. She talks through the session which keeps my mind off of the services being performed. The space is clean and comfortable. They are quite professional, and while they have policies in place for everything they are very respectful when enforcing them. I very much respect their professionalism.
The location is also amazing, but when it rains beware it does flood a little in the front. Just wear some rain boots and it’ll be all good.

This is BY FAR the BEST place to get any type of waxing done. I’ve been a regular waxer for a little over 2 years and I will never ever go anywhere else. The prices are extremely reasonable and the girls there are fabulous. Every one of them are very personable and knowledgable. They are far superior to any other wax places in Baton Rouge. I genuinely look forward to my appointments each month. Wether you’re a first timer or a veteran, they make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, especially during something that’s actually quite UNcomfortable. Love this place! I can’t praise them enough. Both locations are equally amazing.

I’ve been a client of Zanella’s for nearly a year. I always arrived on time for my appointments and was treated well. Recently, I began to experience rashes and bumps after my waxing sessions. The last time it was really bad, and covered my entire chest and neck. Prior to my next appointment I called and mentioned that I thought it might be due to the service I was getting. I was told by Carly that she’s never seen anything like that. The next day, I missed an appointment due to illness. She called and rescheduled to Tuesday. I tried to explain that getting there after work would be tough, but she was determined that I come. That day, I got stuck in traffic in a heavy rain storm. My phone was dead, and I had no way to call them. That afternoon I got a reciept in my email. They had charged my credit card without my approval for half of the appointment. I fully understand their policy but contacting the client by phone or email first would be the right thing to do. While reading their policy on cancellations, I noticed that YES some people do have reactions to the product that they use. In this case, it’s highly likely that I did. As a person who once ran a small business I understand that referrals are important to grow that business, and that honesty is important as well. I should have not been rescheduled because I had a reaction. If a small business truly wants to prosper, they need to realize that not every person is right for their service. If they had treated this situation correctly, I would have written a glowing review about them and unfortunately how I had to find an alternate method of hair removal that would live up to Zanella’s. Instead, I am writing a review warning others about my treatment.

I had a great experience getting a Brazilian wax here. It was a very quaint and clean environment. I feel like it’s very important, as far as dignity goes, for the aesthetician to be personable and that’s exactly what she was. I don’t recall her name, but she made great conversation. The student discount was a huge plus I can’t forget to mention. I made another appointment without hesitation. I’d recommend to anyone who gets waxed!

I went to have my eyebrows done today on my lunch break. This was my first visit to Zanella’s, my mom is a client and recommended them to me. They are located across the street from Zeeland Street Market in a very nice part of town. I’m familiar with the area, but even if I wasn’t there wouldn’t have been any problem finding them as their signage is easily spotted from the street. Upon entering, you’re welcomed by an adorable seating area with comfy sofas. I completed a questionnaire and signed a waiver and then I was off to my waxing! I had a wonderful experience and I made my follow up appointment before I left. It was very quick, but in no way did I feel rushed out of the door. It just didn’t take long. I had no wait whatsoever, they were ready for me immediately up my arrival. I will definitely recommend Zanella’s!
