This community ROCKS!!! I have been coming to St. Andrews United Methodist Church for almost a year and I can truly say I am blessed to be part of a wonderful church family. When I say this church rocks it is literal. My family and I love to go to the 8:30 contemporary service. It is an energetic way for me to be more spiritual and connect more with God. There are three services on Sunday: 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00, with the latter two being more traditional. We really enjoy the Sunday school for both children and adults at 9:45 every Sunday. There is also a new service on Wednesdays at 6:00. I feel very welcome every time I step through the doors of this small but powerful church. The staff, members, and visitors of St. Andrews are so friendly and inviting that it is hard to turn away. The church office is open M-F till 4:30 in the afternoon. You can go the their website: to view all the amazing ministries that the community is involved in. If you are looking for a church to get your spirituality in high gear, I highly suggest you check out St. Andrews United Methodist Church. I did and I haven’t looked back since.

Love the Sunday services, pastor, church members, and strong sense of community that St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church demonstrates. We were connected to the church through the preschool(which one daughter graduated from and the other still attends) and have always been impressed with how well run the school is. I did not grow up Methodist though, so I had no idea what to expect and was initially hesitant to change. I can say that from day one, I have felt welcomed like family, and have never felt that love from my {many} previous churches. This is truly a Christian based community in Baton Rouge that follows the old(and cheesy or perhaps just overly used, I know) saying of «What would Jesus do?» as they demonstrate the message of God and Jesus in everything they do. The outreach to others in the community seems to have no end, and I feel very blessed to now call this church my home. My girls(2&5 years old) have also grown so fond of this church(and the plentiful activities they plan for kids) to the point that they wake up asking if today’s a church day. Even better is that my girls can either choose to go to the nursery(or Sunday school) to learn about God or can stay with me during church, and either way they are stimulated and leave with their spirits up. If there’s anyone out there looking for a church with great messages in every sermon and perhaps have never felt a sense of community, then perhaps it’s time you check out this hidden jewel in Baton Rouge’s Shenandoah neighborhood. I promise they are not asking(not even knowing lol) that I’m creating this review, and it’s in no way a pushy place that would make you feel obligated to return or participate in any certain way. But the beauty of it is, for the first time in my life, I WANT to go to church every Sunday. It’s a wonderful feeling that this rebellious girl(who went to religious based schools her whole life) had never felt before. PS Forgot to mention that the music at the 8:30 am service on Sunday is full of super talented musicians! Definitely worth overcoming the difficulty of waking up so early on a Sunday! ;-)
