I absolutely love this place! I kept seeing it every time I was on my way to Sherwood and always wanted to go in. Boy am I glad I did! They are a tad bit pricey but they are delicious and everything is made to order so that it’s hot and fresh! Fries and a drink are separate. $ 2.95, but you get a basket full of fries!!! They are thin and crunchy but thick enough to be fluffy on the inside… Oh my nards they are so good!!! I get the shrimp poboy everytime I go over there and customer service is great!!! Did I mention that they have huge chocolate chip cookies for $ 1.00?! Go ahead and treat yourself to a great poboy, WAYBETTER than Poboy Express on Seigen and way better than Sherwood Poboy on Sherwood. Lol. Why are you still reading this review??! GOGETYOURSELF A POBOY!

Outstanding hot sub shop. Many variations on cheese steak. Personally like the ham and cheese.

The food was(blah) nothing to rant and rave about but the staff was RUDEAF. No smile, no thank you for coming, I was asked questions I didn’t know what it meant and was replied with a(sigh) from the most poorly dressed black person I’ve seen in fast food. Here’s a recommendation you want to keep business coming back get rid of the ghetto thugs taking the orders. Pretend I’ve never been there before and don’t know all the intricacies of your menu items. I most definitely will not be coming back and I will be sure to add this to my weekly blog and my fiends and do workers ears.

It was a rainy afternoon, lunchtime came upon us and and we were starved! Even though I normally don’t like sandwich bread, I had to give this place a try because of all the fabulous reviews. Plus, the sensation of hot and crispy really was something I craved. We ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and decided to split a 12″. It did not take long for them to prep our order, which was great because we were famished. The employees here were nice, but there was just something missing. I think it was just that extra pizzazz that it needs. It totally left much to be desired. I am not sure why, but I felt like I was in the black and white version of the movie Pleasantville. There was something missing, but I couldn’t quite think of it. I could seriously see this place packed with people because it was clean and the food was delicious. It is located on a busy street, clear as crystal. I am not sure if it was because it was a huge away game(LSU) weekend or if it was because of rain and people did not want to go out. Perhaps the drive-thru was busy and I did not even know it. Well, in case you have not dined here, I had a pleasant experience and I hope to be back soon. Next time, I hope to try one of the Signature Phillys! Come, check it out, so them some local love!

#1 Place in Baton Rouge to get your Cheesesteak fix! Friendly staff and great food. It’s not just the cheesesteaks that are great either. You can’t go wrong choosing either fries or onion rings as your side.

In the city of brotherly love, there is a lot of passionate and legitimate debate over who is the king of steaks. In Baton Rouge, there is no question that South of Philly is the cheesesteak champ of the south. I’d put it up against anything from Philly, it’s that good! I’m from PA and Philly is my second home. I’ve eaten more cheesesteaks than I think is healthy and I’ve woken up in bed with a half eaten cheesesteak on more than one occasion. So yeah, I like cheesesteaks. One of the mistakes most places make when they make steaks, is they call them a Philly cheesesteak but go over board on the toppings. To me, the only way is a wiz wit(that’s a steak with cheesewiz and onions, just so you know). SoP does just that with perfectly seasoned meat, generous helping of wiz, and expertly grilled onions that are sweet, but retain some bite. The roll makes the sandwich. After a few bites, I thought they tasted an awful lot like the great Italian rolls in Philly. When i asked the owner where he gets his rolls, he pulled out a bag of authentic Amoroso rolls he gets shipped down from Philly. This is as authentic as it gets folks! Not only are the steaks perfect, the fries and wings are excellent as well. South of Philly is a real treat and a taste of home. If you want a delicious and authentic Philly cheesesteak experience, go to SoP!

Philly cheesesteak is done like it’s supposed to be done. Hot wings are right on time(a little small) but seasoned well and are good. Only thing I was not excited about would be the fries. Overall great experience.

NOTE: I haven’t been here since they’ve changed over to new management. My first impression under the new régime is not good but they’ve added more space inside of the building which is great. First, my philly was super peppery. You can see the pepper on my sandwich from my photo(it was so bad I trashed it). I’m not sure of what has happened there but it’s not the same. The freshness of meat isn’t there and they’ve added more vegetable to the philly in exchange for less meat. The old sandwiches use to be steaming hot and loaded. My personal preference is more meat and mild vegetables. The serve and location is really good but this is a definite pass for me. FYI: I didn’t give them 1 Star because of the previous success.
