Good taste, high price, small portions. No meal deals; everything is sold separately. 2 burgers, onion straws, a kids meal chicken, and 3 shakes cost $ 36.

Not what I expected in not really sure what was wrong there was no flavor in the meat to many grilled onions and them and Five guys brag about how the patty is bigger than in n out but if you have a bigger patty get a bun that Can hold up the party now the fris were good and I was happy with those.

Welllll… Here we have yet another burger competing in an already crowded market. All burgers are not created equal. Some burgers are created less equal. This is one of them. Burgers are being marketed in every way imaginable. Therefore you have to imagine bigger and better and more creative ways to show off the prize, the burger. We had the Louisiana Burger and the Spicy Jalapeño Baha. The seasoning was just ok. Smash burgers claim to fame is that the hamburger meat is kept in a rolled up ball, until you order it, and then it is «Smashed» into a patty on the grill. Since all hamburger meat, at one point, has to be made into the burger as we know it, this really is nothing special or different from any other patty. The fact that you can’t even witness this feat holds no surprise either. It’s as much as saying it will be placed between a bun before it gets to you, and you don’t witness that feat either. The«smashing» on the grill does, however, make it a tight packed patty that has much of the juice rendered from it on the grill. The additional condiments try to make up for this but are mostly lost in the bun with each chew. The buffalo fries with Franks hot sauce were extremely salty and the salt could not be shaken off due to being stuck to the ‘buffalo sauce’. The herb seasoned fries were good. The portions of the two different fries were vastly unequal. For the price and quality the«prize» just didn’t measure up in the realm of craft burgers. You don’t become a «craft» burger just by being an anomaly. You have to be especially great. I can understand why they were nearly empty on a Saturday eve at 5:30(Evidently another«non-peak» time.) I hear the milkshakes are great so maybe they should 86 the burgers and become«Smashakes»? As for a craft burger, I much rather prefer Bullchicks burgers.

So… I heard that Smashburger had finally come to town so I went to check it out. Ordered the«Louisiana» Smashburger with a fried egg added on for good measure. I don’t eat a lot of hamburgers these days but I would definitely eat this one again. Very nicely done, meat cooked at just the right temperature, juicy and not over-cooked, vegetables were fresh — and everything was well presented. The bun was a nice touch — I know nothing about the Smashburger story but I gather the bread is one of the things that sets them apart. It certainly added to the whole experience for me. Also tried the sweet potato smash fries — also very good — nice combo of slightly sweet and savory.

I love their smashfries and their chocolate oreo shake. I also appreciate the fact that they have a homemade veggie patty… instead of some frozen afterthought. However, every time I go here there is some kind of service issue or something missing from the order. For example, we paid extra for onion rings on a burger and we saw it was missing them after we already took our order home. I’ve ordered the avocado ranch veggie burger but it was missing avocado. I have waited forever for an order with all the people at the table getting their order at separate times. The kicker, however is this: I placed an online order for pick up and when I got there, the order wasn’t even recieved so I had to wait some time to get my food. Not a huge deal, but combined with a messed up order I submitted a complaint on their website. The next morning, I did get a voice mail from the regional manager who remembered me coming in. Instead of being apologetic for the wait for my order problems, he was defensive and sounded annoyed. He blamed the online ordering problem«on corporate», «which there was nothing he could do about it.» He also said my experience«wasn’t that bad.» Um, excuse me? Such a pity because I really do like their food!

Today’s horrible experience began at the cash register. Although there was only one person in line in front of us, he had some sort of coupon which required managerial approval. However, the manager had no interest in approving this, and I literally waited in line TENMINUTES while we all just stared at the wall. Placing the order was difficult, although the order itself was simple. For two burgers, fries, and two shakes, you can expect to pay over a whopping $ 25. I’d give you the exact amount but I have no receipt. The reason I have no receipt is that once the wrong order was brought to us, the server began to dispute that she was indeed bringing us the correct order, and I had to provide my receipt to get any service. Eventually my order was brought to me — incorrect, but close enough to let it go at this point. I managed to finish my entire meal without getting the shakes. When someone walked by and asked if everything was ok, I pointed out that we didn’t have the shakes, so we had to provide the order again. Thankfully I didn’t have to provide another receipt. We ordered Reese’s shakes with no whip, and got a pinkish shake with whip. Of course by this time I gave up on the small details, but I had to verify what kind of shake it was. She confirmed Reese’s. Tasted like peanut butter and jelly. Do yourself a favor and never come here. For $ 25 I could have had one hell of a better experience anywhere else. Never coming back. Ever.

First Timer. My family and I walked in trying out yet another burger joint in Baton Rouge. Yes burger joints are just popping up everywhere so here is my review for Smashburger. As we walk in we noticed the place is very clean, it was mid afternoon so it wasn’t crazy busy but what I was mostly impressed with was the service. The girl taking our order was very kind and greeted us with a smile. Throughout our visit we were checked on multiple times seeing if we were ok or needed anything and even though it was a bit much at times I can still appreciate it. The food was not bad but didn’t blow me away either. Burgers were a little greasy as if they were cooked on a flattop stove. Not terrible since I’d rather a greasy burger over a dry burger. The truffle burger was pretty flavorful and my wife had a BBQ burger which wasn’t too bad. The olive oil fries… a little too oily for our taste. We will be back to try out other items in the future. Based off this initial experience I would still rate a couple of places a little higher in my opinion though.

Okay, I’ve been deficient in my review writing lately. However I made two stops in since I attended the Unilocal Elite event. Both stops occurred during the 11 a. m to 2 p. m lunch rush. If you want to know my thoughts on my first visit check out my Tip. The place was understaffed for the lunch rush and what staff that was there seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but there… however the food when it came out was cooked as ordered and was delicious… Mentally this visit received 2 stars… 2nd visit occurred 2 – 3 weeks later… it was night and day compared to the first visit… counter staff knew how to work the register, order went in prompt, kitchen staff was hitting on all cylinders and I had barely gotten seated when my order was brought out by the floor staff… honestly I was surprised they had turned their act around so quickly… the food was cooked as ordered and delicious… mentally this visit got 4 stars. 2 visits, 6 stars total… do the math and my review ends up a «3»…I love Smashburger… I love the greasy nature of the burgers and the size, love the Smash fries, love the onion rings… Service and quality food is the key… seems the main complaint is always about service… if this joint can get that aspect consistent I expect it to hold its own… if not, they will go the way of Mugshots…

Pay extra for toppings, and don’t expect to receive them. How difficult is it to build a burger from a fucking LISTON A SCREEN? Jesus christ. Get your shit together, this is a brand new restaurant, filter out the idiots instead of hiring them. I hope you’re not paying this staff 15 dollars an hour. Edit after choking the food down: soggy lettuce, mealy tomatoes, stringy undercooked bacon. Smashburger, your other restaurants around the nation have always impressed me. I don’t know whether it’s a personnel issue, supply issue, or a combination of both, but fix it. We won’t be back until you do.

I went on a Friday night and there was a long line so I almost walked out and ordered something from Panda like my boyfriend did but I’m so glad I didn’t.To my surprise the line moved really quickly since there were two registers open. I ordered the Avocado Chicken Club which really didn’t take long for as long as the line was. All the employees seemed to know what they were doing and were really nice and efficient. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the Elite event so I never got to taste any of the hamburgers and I haven’t gotten around to tasting them yet. Well let me tell you I loooved my chicken sandwich. The piece of chicken was huuuge and was deliciously seasoned and the tomatoes, lettuce, & avocadoes were fresh. The pieces of avocado that they put in there were not only really fresh but they were also huge and sliced very thick. I will definitely have to come back next time and try the chicken club salad because it looked delicious. My only regret is that I didn’t try a shake but I was really full anyway since the sandwich was so big. Oh yeah it was kind of pricey though, and all I got was the chicken sandwich NO fries and NO drink and it was $ 7.21. Well, the sandwich was really good and it filled me up so I guess it was worth it.

Saw the Smashburger Food Truck at an event at Tin Roof Brewing. We had yet to try one, so online we stood. We got a cheese burger, which came with chips. The burger was hot, juicy and gooey. One bite and we were hooked. The soft buttery bun soaked up the juices and added flavor down to the last bit. Reminded me of home and a good olé Wisconsin dive bar burger.

They really need to improve their service! Food delivery takes too long and your lucky if you get more than one item at a time. This is horrible when you are with children. We will not be returning.

The Rosemary fries and the shakes are so good if you aren’t looking to eat healthy! I am so happy they have nutrition online! They were quick & nice. The food was okay, not bad but not great. I was in and out which was ideal for the short lunch break I had! I got a chicken sandwich with multi grain bun, avocado pickles and mustard. I love fresh avocado. Glad I went here for lunch

Not the best, not the worst. Burger was good; thought, it almost felt like it was not made fresh. All garnishments tasted and looks fresh. I had the Baja Burger. Fries were better than average; thought, next time I would ask them not to put any salt on my fries. You do not need that much salt to make fries taste good. Now shakes were a disaster. Ordered two shakes and it took close to 20 minutes to get them, then to my surprise they were very watery. Had to put them in the freezer. Also found a hair on one of them, was already home and did not feel like going back to the store.

Shawanna at the counter was friendly and helpful taking our order. The wait to receive our food was not long considering the number of people The vegetables on the burger were vibrant with color and there was a generous serving of fries which I immediately tasted to check for freshness and crispness and they were fine The smash burger was tasty and moist and the bun soft and fresh tasting. Even the picky order of burger only etc was satisfactory Our waiter/runner Brent was helpful Nd friendly as well I don’t usually like seasoned fries… but I tried the buffalo flavored and they were delicious I wasn’t crazy about the seating and considering it’s a burger it’s hard to mess up Well worth a visit Well have to try the malt/shake on next visit based on the other reviews Most people would probably give an extra star or maybe 2 but it’s burgers and doesn’t make you go WOW that’s unbelievable

I visited to Smashburger for the second time a few days ago and I have to say it was OKAY. First off I would like to say I understand the store is new but LORD was this a mess. So I went into the store and ordered my coworker and I our meals to go and instantly knew this was a mistake. They have a small standing table next to the registers that you can wait for your food. There was about 15 people standing there and you could see the frustration on their faces. From where the table is you can see into the kitchen and the screen that shows every ones orders. On the order screen is showed 32 orders!!! Clearly the kitchen was behind and I could see the general manager grilling burgers and trying to keep the cooks in line. Orders started to come out in a disarray and the«runners» started to hand people their food and deliver to tables. The runners started coming back with food, claiming the order was wrong thus, backing everything up even more. After and hour and fifteen minutes I finally got my two burgers and onion strings. The food: The burgers and chicken are all thin and the price is a little expensive. All the toppings are very fresh and I would defiantly like to try one of their salads. I have tried most of the sides: onion Strings, Smashfries, sweet potato fries and french fries of which were all delicious! The shakes are made from Haagen-Dazs ice cream and are to die for! I would recommend the Oreo shake but honesty I don’t think you could go wrong with any of these.

GOOD: 1. the chicken is better than the burger patty. seasoned and moist. 2. onion rings are thin and not greasy-very good. 3. Avocado was ripe and fresh and 4. the multi-grain bread was soft. Less Good: 1. the lines– its still new. 2. the burger not seasoned well and nothing special. 3. heavy on the sauces 4. smash fries have a lot of olive oil. Next time: GONNAGET A SHAKE!!! the crushed oreos on top of the whipped cream looked like someone took their time to make it. looked really good. and a side salad. ya’know to cover for the ice cream. Had to get out of the office for lunch. Grabbed a friend and tried smash burger today. I was conflicted about the BBQ bacon cheddar burger or the chicken avocado club w no bacon. I’ll be honest– the great big poster sold me on the chicken sandwich. Boy am I glad it did. I pinched a bit of my friend’s classic smashburger(she was also duped by a poster– we respond to advertising– apparently) and was really pleased with my chicken choice. It was moist and seasoned. The cooked side is separate from the produce side– so it isn’t soggy when you get it. Service: Hostess/cashier very nice– runner very fast, and as I told you up top– the guy making shakes takes his time with them. Good experience. Who doesn’t love a burger and fries?! Not the best burger ever– chicken was up there though.

It was just ok. Unless you are using exotic meats like Bison, Elk, Lamb,(real) Kobe Beef etc etc then it’s not many different ways you can repackaged the American Burger. It was a little on the greasy side and over cooked on the edges. Other than the truffle oil I was slightly under impressed with my meal. As its stands for me they are just the new kids on the block with great marketing and can possibly take the crown as the third best burger in BR. If you are going to jump into the burger game then step up your game, get me some Antelope, Lion, Gazelle, Water Buffalo… Other then that I could have asked my Uncle Cliff to make me a burger similar to a smash burger. And he would have put so much stuff on it you would literally have to smash it to eat it.

I decided to visit at 2pm after the lunch crowd. It was opening day and it was clear they are still working out the flow. The place was about a 3rd full when I placed my to go order. The counter person remembered me from the pre-opening tasting event and greeted me with an enthusiastic«Good to see you back again». I answered yes, I am back to try the chicken today. I ordered the Baja to-go and requested add mustard and serve it on a multi-grain bun. We Unilocalers like to take photos of new things so I reached in the bag to arrange my lunch for a photo-shoot before taking that first bite. To my surprise it wasn’t chicken at all. No problem to fix though and they immediately went about preparing the chicken version. I liked that chicken sandwich but it was missing the promised onions(a fav of mine). The fresh jalapenos really made it pop and the chicken filet was nice and crispy without being dry. The tasting party I attended let me try the Black bean burger and I gotta say it was one of the best black bean burgers I’ve ever had at a fast food place. No fillers and it had an almost creamy texture. Now that’s what I’m gonna order on my next visit only I’ll ask for it Baja stye. Yep, that plus some of those crispy onion rings cause I will be back.
