I don’t normally write reviews. However, after my highly disappointing experience with this establishment, I would regret not sharing my experience with other potential customers. I have been contemplating getting«Great Lengths» for a couple of months. After goggling local salons, Salon Château came up. On my lunch break I decided to stop by. The sign outside of their place of business read«Walk-Ins Welcome.» After arriving to the salon I pulled on the door, only to find that is was locked. I waited for someone to answer the door(by the way, the salon door is clear and I could see three stylists along with their clients. Obviously the salon wasn’t closed) A couple of stylists looked at me and continued working. I calmly waited as I assumed they would send someone to see what I needed. Momentarily, someone walked to the computer, merely inches away from the door, looked at me, and proceeded to work. I was shocked that no one acknowledged me. I can honestly say that I have NEVER been treated so poorly for any reason. If they had a full salon and couldn’t take me, the least they could have done was open the door to tell me. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been using Salon Château for over two years, I loved this salon and was happy every time I left. I buy products occasionally, and had a cut about every other month. But today was absolutely unacceptable and I will not be returning. They called me today, as I was pulling up(15 min before my 2:45 appointment) and told me that my stylist was running 45 – 50 minutes behind schedule, and would that work for me? I am appalled that they think that is acceptable, would it be okay with them if I were 45 – 50 minutes late for my appointment? I am not saying things don’t happen, because they do but they surely could have called me before 15 min before my appointment, considering that is how early most stylists suggest you are. I told them«I waited around this side of Baton Rouge all day so that I could make this appointment, I have plans and will not be able to make a later appointment» and I hung up. To top it off, my stylist called me and left me a lengthy voicemail saying that they do not tolerate them trying to communicate and no reciprocation from me, I reciprocated by saying no, and hanging up. If anything they absolutely should have given me more than a 15 min notice of a 45 – 50 minute delay. She also said in the voicemail that I should not show up for my appointment(which I had already told them I wouldn’t be attending) and that I needed to find a stylist that can guarantee they won’t be late, because she said she was regularly late and it would continue to happen. She also mentioned that they and bad communication between there schedule and them not calling me, and asked me to find another stylist because they would not tolerate me not communicating with them… that was a clear lack of communication on their part. She went on about numerous personal issues that were irrelevant to the situation and my appointment all together. It was all very unprofessional and I suggest a different salon if you are looking for a professional atmosphere.

I originally found this salon from a living social deal and decided to give it a try from the reviews I read on Unilocal and it’s proximity to my house. I’m new in town and desperate to find a hair stylist. Pros: I liked the price I found under the living social for a cut and blow dry. — I found them to be very accommodating in trying to set up an appointment for me. — Close to my home Cons: The living social deal came with a eyebrow wax which I did not feel comfortable in getting after the haircut. No substitution was offered for the service. — I did not find the hair salon to be very clean or organized. — I have an uneven cut — Too much hairspray was used when blow drying my hair so it wasn’t as movable as I like it and it just made my hair look dirty. I had to go home and wash it again and blow dry it which was frustrating because I had a very early out of state meeting the following day and still had to pack, etc. It defeated the purpose of having a *professional* do it.
Overall, I would never go to them again. I rather pay more for a better cut and hairstyle.

I originally came to this salon as a walk in after I had left another salon and was in tears because of a terrible haircut. Amanda took my horrible chop job and did the best she could evening it out and fixing the other stylist’s mistakes. I have since went to her several times and she is absolutely fantastic! She actually listens to you when you explain what you would like done and the hair cut always looks exactly how you’ve explained. I’ve always left happy!

This is one of the rare salons which accepts walk-ins in spite of its heavy client volume. I really appreciate them for accommodating me anytime. These guys are so quick and fast and of course very talented. they know what they are doing and they never experiment with my hair. I usually get my hair done with Leigh Anne Watson, she does it pretty nicely and is very entertaining. I would 100% recommend Salon Château. Though it is little expensive, I feel it is worth it after being to other salons.
