My fiancé and I had such an amazing experience here. We were greeted warmly by everyone in the front and any server we walked past. We were seated and ordered our drinks which came really quickly. Our server, Ashton, was extremely friendly and efficient. Even after we paid our bill he re filled our mimosa and champagne.(bottomless champagne and mimosas at brunch). The food was amazing as well. My fiancé had the fork and knife breakfast sandwich and I had the Italian frittata. We also had a fruit plate to share. We will be back often. Absolutely love this place.

This was my first time coming here. I went for a work lunch meeting. The service was really good. Oh but the food… The Pasta Jam… was to die for. It was seasoned so well. The cibatta bread was super hood also

Went here for my little sister’s birthday last week. Wonderful atmosphere, with friendly staff and delicious food! Make sure to get some loaves of ciabatta bread with the olive oil – it’s only 99 cents per loaf and it’s DELICIOUS! The bread also comes with butter if you’re a little less adventurous, but the olive oil is really good! I got grilled chicken with«simple pasta oglio olio»(spaghetti with garlic and olive oil) and sweet potato fries on the side, and was pretty pleased with it! The chicken was flavorful and juicy, the pasta was DELICIOUS(and if we go again, I might get a full entrée of that!), and the sweet potato fries had a good taste, but were soggy and mushy even though I had asked for them to be crispy. I don’t really want to have to take off a whole star just for mushy fries, but I can’t rate in half-stars, so it’ll have to do!

We visit Portobello’s on Old Hammond Hwy and visit once per month for the Sunday Brunch. It has a nice atmosphere, above average italian food. The waiters and bartenders are friendly and competent. The Shrimp & Crab Alfredo is to die for along with the Osso Bucco. Both of the Egg Benedict dishes are some of our favorites in the city. The Chicken and Waffles with the spiced maple syrup will keep you smiling. They have recently added Frittatas to the menu and they are perfectly cooked! You have to try the deserts, we especially love the Carrot Cake(quite unique). — Bottomless Champagne, Mimosa and(Cranberry + Champagne) — The restaurant is set in a nice section of a quaint New Orleans style mall and once inside, you feel like you could be in New Orleans. Always will return.

I appreciate this resturant for the consistency of the food, the attentive service and the well seasoned dishes. Came in on a rainy day and sat at the bar and our bartender was stellar she took us through the menu and when we asked to substitute veal on a pasta instead of chicken she was more tha gracious and willing to do so. We advised the bartender we were splitting the pasta and a salad and the kitchen even split our entrée into two nicely plated dishes and we loved that(it’s the small things). I honestly forgot the name of the pasta but the VEAL was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We will be returning. I had a great experience.

I was passing through town and ended up at this place. Everything I had was really good! The restaurant had a nice seating area, bar, and private room which was for private parties. I just had a caesar, chicken gumbo and the Chicken Focaccia sandwich. The sandwich was probably one of the best Chicken sandwiches I have had. I’ll definitely go back if I am in town again!

My first time having a Sunday bunch here and I must say that I have been missing out. Wonderful variety of well-prepared dishes in a clean, friendly, and social restaurant setting. This can definitely be a regular family get together location.

I love their brunch. But I just went to their dinner and had the red stick burger. Omg! Amazing! Can’t go wrong w/Port o’! And my gf had the steak and blue cheese salad and that was perfect!

Went for a friend’s birthday. My girlfriend is allergic to raw tomatoes. We tell both waitresses this. She orders a sensation salad with chicken. She gets a third of the way through and find raw tomato at the bottom of the bowl. My grilled chicken was dry as a bone and had no seasoning at all. I honestly would have had a better meal at McDonald’s. However the birthday guy’s meal was just fine.

A real nice and casual place to sit down and eat. The service was great and the food was also. I totally recommend this place.

We went here for brunch after church at HPC on Sunday the 26th of July. I swear the first bottomless mimosa had only OJ in it, but the second was just the opposite! My veggie omelet was delicious and not overly huge, but the price was a little high. With tip my meal was just over $ 25. That’s a lot for breakfast. I’d go back, but I’d skip the mimosa

I went here for the bottomless mimosas with a girlfriend of mine! She’s a new mommy and we needed a quick, close, and simple place to sit at the bar have a couple drinks and be able to catch up! We went about 40 minutes before Brunch ended. It wasn’t packed and we were able to go straight up to the bar and grab a couple seats. Though, even if we wanted to be seated in the restaurant area there wouldn’t have been a wait! We tried the usual mimosa with and the cranberry juice mimosa. This was my first time trying it with cranberry juice(something about cranberry juice makes me cringe and think of vodka :)). I actually prefer it over the orange juice ones here because they pour way more OJ than champagne! Also, we grabbed the Eggplant Roulades appetizer to share. This is fried eggplant medallions topped with crawfish, spinach, and a very delicious smoked bacon cream sauce! The sauce is most definitely what makes this appetizer great! For the most part service was great! We stayed for a couple hours and Brittany and a young man were our bartenders! They were nice, quick, and attentive. Sadly, there was a young lady that had way too many of the bottomless mimosas and after an hour of being cut off, threw up right on her table and had to be «carried outside». Even during this unfortunate mishap the staff attended to the situation as gracefully as they could attend to a grown persons bodily fluids in a restaurant! I guess it happens occasionally! This is why they get a full 5 stars lol. I’m looking forward to going back and trying some more of their brunch food!

I’ve had many cheeseburgers in my fifty-something years of life, but this afternoon at Portobello’s Grill I had one of the best ever. To start, the bun was soft and slightly buttery. The hamburger patty was cooked well done as I requested. It is served with tasty skinny French fries. My husband loved the pork chops he ordered. His side dishes were creamed spinach and augratin potatoes. Our server Austin was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be back again.

The food was good, the service was slow and inattentive. I enjoyed the soup and ½ chicken sandwich. It might have been better if my glass hadn’t run dry so many times. The staff is seemingly competent at every table but mine so perhaps another visit may net me better results.

My first visit was for Sunday Brunch and based on my experience I recommend you give them a try. I arrived 5 minutes before the others in my party but they sat me immediately. Trust, I love trust, I told them my friends would arrive in 5 minutes and they did(OK one did the other one took a bit longer). Our waiter was very busy but wasn’t fazed by our staggering arrivals. Our drink orders were prompt and his manner remained cordial throughout the meal. Now for the food. My friends ordered the Eggplant Stacker and let me try a taste. It was crispy and delicious and if I ate Bacon laced sauces I might order it next time. I ordered the Shrimp and Crab Alfredo. My pasta dish had medium shrimp and crab cakes served atop fettuccine bathed in a creamy Alfredo sauce. I enjoyed the dish but found the crab cakes a little bready. I would have enjoyed the dish more, and paid more, if the crab cakes had more crab in them. Two of us ordered bottomless Champagne, they served Cook’s Brut Reserve, and it wasn’t primo but not the worst. One friend ordered a Bloody Mary and she said it was tasty but nothing special. So stellar service and good food gets an overall 4 and I will definitely revisit Portobello’s again.

Went there for Sunday brunch and the food was excellent. Quite pricey for brunch but the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and the food is good. Presentation was wonderful as well. The $ 6 Bloody Marys were great! I got a Cajun Omelette that was very good. The service staff were good. My waitress was very slow in coming around but other busboys and hostesses(I think) came by to ask for our orders and if the food was good. But I had a problem at the end. At first the waitress didn’t charge me for my 2nd Bloody Mary and I happily gave my card thinking it was endless BMs or something. Then she comes back AFTER charging my card and says she forgot the second drink so she added it in and then charged my card. I thought it was inappropriate on the part of the waitress to add in the extra charge without letting me know first. Overall I would come back for the great food, drink and atmosphere.

«Local Italian grill pleased the palate». I don’t go out to eat for Italian that often, but when I do I make sure I eat at the finest places! It was a treat to get invited by a friend to come here because I have never come here before! After reading the deliciously delightful reviews, I was finally able to experience Portobello’s for myself with good company, of course! We started the meal with the Overstuffed Mushroom and they were plated excellence! These mushrooms were enormous and I would have definitely been stuffed, if I ate all 4 of them. For my meal, I ordered the Steak House Salad entrée and it was super tasty. I ordered my steak strips medium and they were cooked to perfection and seasoned fantastically! Pasta is not really my thing, so this salad definitely hit the spot. The serving size was enormous that I was only able to eat half, especially after I ate 2 of the overstuffed mushrooms! To accompany my meal was my «Nutty Irishman» adult coffee, which I was super happy about. Our waitress, Whitney, was super helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. She was super nice and had just the amount of energy a great server must have! Thank you for your warmth and stellar service, Whitney! Portobello’s will definitely be on my return-to list! Yay!

Good brunch! We had the crab cake Benedict and the chicken and waffles. Oh, and bottomless mimosas. :-D My husband said his food was«the Bomb digity!» He described it as great! Now who doesn’t want to hear that. My food(the Benedict) was very good… but my eggs were a little over cooked. They were great with replacing them, however. I’d return!

I wish Unilocal had half stars because our experience was a solid 2.5. We came on a Sunday night and there was no wait for a table. Nicholas was our server and he did a good job. Our drinks were brought out quickly and we looked over the menu. Let me say this, for this place to be as expensive as it is, they don’t give you free bread or a salad/soup with your meal! My husband had the fried shrimp and I ordered the stuffed redfish with creamed spinach and grit corn cakes. Our food took a long time to come and it wasn’t hot. For the price you pay, you don’t get much. The bread we ordered was really good, even though we had to pay for it. The food was better than ok but nothing amazing. The atmosphere is nice and the artwork on the walls are beautiful. Unless you’ve never been here and you REALLY want to try it out go elsewhere

.Can’ .Beat! Portobello’s is one of my favorite restaurants in town. No matter what you are craving, you will find something appetizing on the menu… even a couple healthy options. I always order the focassia bread for starters… it is only 99 cents. And usually the Fire Grilled Chicken with steamed broccoli and creamed spinach — -always a winner. If you saved room, try the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding with a scoop of ice cream. Oh, and ask for Dustin. He always does us right.
